Its not only Indian artistes who are banned in Pakistan, Indian music, Indian films, Indian TV channels, Indian books, Indian goods are banned too. Does the author mention these? No. Why?

I am generally opposed to boycotts in sporting and cultural fields. I will conceed that the anti-apartheid sporting boycott was devastating to the morale of the South African Whites. Apartheid was an extreme case.

Mr. Tahmed. Your argument is the most idiotic form of logical fallacy one can commit. You believe that if one or few are fake, then by default everyone else is a fake. If you know anything about history of the subcontinent then you would not have made this assessment. There have been several historical documentations of people that have come to the subcontinent, who are descendant of the prophet. Some notables are the Syed dynasty in Kashmir, the Zaidi Syeds of Bar-raha and Bolgraam, Mehboob-e-Ilahi Hazrat Khawaja Nizam Uddin Aulia, the many descendnants of Abdul Gadir Shay Jilani (well documented as Syeds), Syeds of Malpuram, the Kalhora Syeds who came during the Abbasid Caliphate, Moosave Syeds, etc. And even your claim of most Muslims being descendants of Central Asians thus not Syeds, can be refuted by the fact that there were several Syeds among the Central Asians, for example the famous Termez Syeds. The fact of the matter is that if it wasn`t for us (Syeds, Persians, Mughals, Turks, etc..) you in fact would still have been worshipping the male and female organs of procreation, cows, monkeys, etc.. How ungrateful of you to not recognize that Allah swt has blessed this part of the World with Islam through the works of great Muslims, who left their homes and families and came to the indian subcontinent to proselytize. As i stated earlier, this is all the result of jealosy ``Hasad``. Read surat al Falaq, it talks about people like you. Dear Hoodbhoy

This interest in land by the Army began with an old scheme where retired army officers were alloted land in the border areas to indoctrinate and coordinate the locals effort during a war.

Then the Defence Karachi came up to provide cheao plots to the Armed Forces officers. The success of Defence Housing Society and the prices shooting up vetted their appetite and it became a lucrative way of the letting the Armed forces Officers make good money. This spread to other cities.

The Armed forces also run their own Schemes for Plots and Housing on Government Lands in Cantonements which have now fallen right in the middle of the cities and their value has skyrocketed.

The Military estate & Lands Department which handles these lands used to be under a civilian bearacrat. But the civilians used to be pesky and asked too many questions. Since Zia time, now it is headed by a General.

This land is initially acquired for military use (Clas A) for firing range or training. Then it is converted into Class B for official military housing. Then it is converted into Class D for private military housing and finally it is converted into Class E for commercial purposes.

Sonce this Department is now headed by a General, all these conversions are in-house with no involvement of civil beauracrat or the Civil Government. And it is a smooth convenient way to gradualy grab the state lands.

On top of it, all civilian schemes also have a quota for the Armed forces.

Since the Generals are now almost in every department, recently Gen Tauqir Zia has given a big plot near the Karachi cricket stadium to the Army for a General colony. Similarly, all the Parking area near the
