Five killed, 20 Injured In Hyderabad Communal Clash
Hyderabad, Dec. 7 (NNN): At least five people were killed and 20 others injured in communal violence and police firing in the Hyderabad’s old city forcing the authorities to impose indefinite curfew in eight police station areas early Sunday. The police opened fire at Gowlipura, Sultansahai, Moghalpura when teargas hells and lathi-charge proved ineffective in controlling the mob indulging in stabbing, loot and arson late Saturday night.
Four persons died due to stabbing while one succumbed to bullet injuries at Osmania General Hospital, where about 20 persons injured in stone pelting and attack were admitted, according to the police. Three of the wounded are said to be in a critical condition.
The Rapid Action Force (RAF) troopers have been deployed in the riot-hit areas to keep law and order. Hyderabad Police Commissioner R P Singh reviewed the situation and decided to impose curfew in eight police station areas of Shalibanda, Moghualpura, Bhawani Nagar, Chatrainaka, Meerchowk, Rein Bazar, Dabirpura and Gowlipura.
The whole trouble erupted on the 11th anniversary of the razing of the 16th century Babri mosque in Ayodhya, Utter Pradesh. Security was tightened across India in preparation for the anniversary of the mosque´s demolition by Hindu activists. The violence on Saturday night followed a relatively peaceful day of protests across the country by Muslims, and celebrations by Hindu groups. The situation in the Sultan Shahi area of Hyderabad became tense after Hindu activists removed a black flag being flown by Muslim residents, said officials.
Groups of Hindus and Muslims reportedly started throwing stones and attacking each others´ houses. ``We had to open fire to control the situation as the mobs were armed with petrol bombs, swords and iron rods,`` said the city´s police commissioner RP Singh. He added: ``We are monitoring the situation carefully. Additional troops have been rushed into all the trouble spots and we have imposed a curfew in these areas.`` Meanwhile, there were no reports of violence anywhere else in the country following heightened security ahead of the anniversary.
It is worth mentioning here that the destruction of the Babri mosque sparked nationwide riots on December 6, 1992. Hundreds of paramilitary soldiers were deployed to Ayodhya itself to control rallies planned by Hindu nationalists. The razing of the Babri mosque in 1992 triggered a year of violence that killed 2,000 people across India. Thousands have been killed in Hindu-Muslim riots across the country since then. Hindu activists claim the mosque was built on the site of an earlier temple to Lord Ram, but Muslims dispute this. Legal arguments are continuing in an attempt to determine ownership.

Author,
There are some amazing lines and ideas here. The first four paragraphs are unbelievably good.
``and of this near-dead man`` is better as ``a nearly dead man``
The narrator is particularly compelling-would be interested in reading more/about her
``And is my reading of this binary of the Hindu/Muslim/sex worker/film star correct?``
Just wondering...
One can imagine a se worker be a FILM star too
How can even if product of bi religous union can be Hindu /Muslim at the same tiome if Hindu imeans religion and not somthing ELSE?

This is the first time I took courage to publish my fiction. I have been sitting on it for a year, but there was something holding me back. I would occasionally look at it, go over a few lines and then put it to sleep. I have come in early to interact because I know that not many people want to read fiction at Chowk and fewer want to interact on my board if they like something I have written!

I hope you dont `crash` untimely prematurely or before you have had your
