Please control the ``dhar`` of your propaganda. Listen, stuipid, there were no more than 90,000 Pakistani troops in East Pakistan - and most of them were busy fighting the mutinies in the EBR, EPR, and other elements, not to mention the terrorists, Mukti Bahini, aided, armed, fincanced, and supported actively by India.
In all your rantings you neglected to anwer the main question:
``Why didn`t the Indian Government conduct internationally-supervised warn crimes trials of the captured Pakistani troops if the latter were responsible for the most heinous acts, as you contend, since the advent of Genghis Khan. Or was it the barbarity of Krishna while he was helping Arjun slaughter so many human beings?
SaRidhar, you are all hot air - just cutting & pasting propaganda like so many of your cohorts from India. Repeat a lie often enough and it becomes the truth.

Another beautifully-written and touching essay. Kudos for a very interesting and thought-provoking effort - the touching humanity of the man Jesus. I have always felt that Jesus is one of the most lovable and tragic figures in religion. The spin meisters and strategists in subsequent centuries created this image of Jesus devoid of human virtures and vices. Virgin birth, virgin life, walking on water, etc. It`s amazing that, according to them, he did not turn wine into water. No doubt, St. Paul, who never personally met Jesus, is responsible for much of this deemphasis of his human nature.
BTW, did you know why Jesus was not born in Ludhiana?
Because they couldn`t find three wise men and a virgin there.

{``I am puzzled! If a Paki Army is the saviour of all muslims in the sub-continent then how why did they massacre and rape Bengali Muslims in 1971??? ``}
The Indians had over 90,000 Pak Army soldiers prisoner for quite some time. If, as you contend. they were responsible for all these crimes, why the hell didn`t the Indian government conduct internationally supervised war crimes trials? Maybe the evidence was not there. Maybe the truth would come out about terroristic activities of the Mukti Bahini with the active support of India. Also, as I understand, the relationship with the Bengalis went sour once they saw how the Indians ``raped`` Bangladesh of so much infrastructue - Indians carried away railway tracks, telephone wires, and even flushing toilets. It was said that the Indians thought the flushing toilets were potato washing machines - aaloo dhone ki machine!
Mohar #204,
MQM chief Altaf Ulloo or for that matter Mujib before him are the reason why many Pakistanis are suspicious about the friendly attitude of certain ``liberal`` Pakistanis. Eventually, such visits to India result in fratricidal results in Pakistan. Altaf, like Mujib before him, is no more than a two-bit thug for whom democracy means bullying people in his area of sway to create a 90% consensus for his nefarious schemes. You are welcome to keep the murderer in India and any more like him.
Dost-mittar #198,
Sir, please reread the book. The gruesome episode is in the book - in the chapter entitled ``Our People Have Gone Mad`` which is a quote attributed to PM Nehru. Believe me it is there in Freedom at Midnight. It is the same part of the book where the terrible story about Sikhs arriving from West Punjab is told. They reached the Panipat railway station, caught the Muslim railway employee, and wanted to cut off his head right there at the station. The Hindu supervisor said that they could not ``dirty`` the station so the Sikhs took the unfortunate Muslim to the back of the station where they decapitated the man. DM, please read all these stories and then you will understand why there is so much hatred for Indians among many Pakistanis - not all can be like Mr. Gill.

{``Do not spread propaganda and lies``}
Typical Indian tactic meriting a solid 2 on the Indianometer scale. When confronted with facts, bring another issue into the discussion to confound the audience. Then you accuse me of spreading propaganda and lies.
OK, Ballukhan, just once, because I don`t need to provide references for your education, here is the reference for the horrible rapes, naked parades, and murder of Punjabi Muslim women in Amritsar in 1947. Read Freedom at Midnight by Lapierre and Collins. I believe the chapter is entitled ``Our People have Gone Mad`` - a statement attributed to Nehru.

In 1947, only two dozen miles away from Lahore, in Amritsar, Muslim women were marched naked in the streets, raped, and had their throats slit in the Gurdwara. The same could happen in Lahore, if only the Pak Army were not there. There was none in Amritsar.
In 2002, in Naroda Patya, Baroda, and other places in Gujarat, wild Hindu mobs, lead by uniformed policemen, rounded up Muslims, killed men, raped girls and women, murdered them, and burned them. The same could happen in the streets of Karachi, if only the Pak Army were not there. There was none in Gujarat.
The main difference between Muslims in India and Muslims in Pakistan is that the latter have a Muslim army to protect their lives, property, and honor. Just imagine living in your house, listening to the mob outside, clamoring for your blood, ready to rape your women and murder your children. You telephone the police, but they are all busy organizing your destruction. The ``democratically-elected`` politicians don`t care about you, because they are ``faithful`` to the constituency of Hindu fanatics that brought them to power in the first place.
The next time you want to ``emulate`` Indian ``democracy,`` think of the Indian Muslims who live their lives in degradation, subjugation, and fear. It is not too late. Support unity in Pakistan and be wary of Indians bringing good tidings of ``peace`` asking us to disarm. It`s amazing how a little nuclear parity leads to peace offers from those who even now rejoice over 1971 and gloat about rapes and murders in Gujarat and Kashmir. Thank you Quaid-e-Azam and thank you Pak Army, for our little patch of refuge in this hell of a sub-continent.

In certain ``liberal`` circles in Pakistan, it is becoming chic to be anti-army, anti-Pakistan, and pro-Indian. While some Pakistani fools are getting carried away by the kumbaya ceremonies at the border, it may be wise to recall 1947, or 1971, or even 2002 (only a couple of years ago! certainly not ancient history!). In 1947, only two dozen miles away from Lahore, in Amritsar, Muslim women were marched naked in the streets, raped, and had their throats slit in the Gurdwara. The same could happen in Lahore, if only the Pak Army were not there. There was none in Amritsar.

Thank you for clarifying that Salim`s posts were removed and his nic banned, not because of anything happening in this article or the FP. Chowk Staff decided to ban Salim and remove all his posts and ilog material based on a blackmail threat from a certain ``feminist.`` After not being able to hold her own in Chowk UP discussuions, then arugments, then verbal assaults, she sought the help of ``daddy`` Chowk Staff and threatened to leave. Of course, the ``steel-spined`` Chowk Staff, using their time-tested and wise formula decided to throw out Salim and then banned Saint to maintain their perverted sense of balance. Chowk reflects the obvious ``sifarish`` and ``nepotism`` prevalent in India and Pakistan. So, why should we expect anything different here. It`s amazing that certain ``feminists`` fighting for equality of the sexes, use their sex as a weapon in seeking vendetta against a male opponent, whom they could not defeat by themselves. It sounds like this:
``Boo Hoo, I can`t cope with this male chauvinist pig, so big daddy Chowk Staff, please ban him, otherwise I will leave and you won`t have too many female interactors. I am a long time resident of Chowk, because being female and pro-Indian, I will never be banned no matter how abusive the language, how sexually depictive my remarks, and how profane my assaults on men.``

The Ballad of Barachota - Ode to the Fallen Pakistani Rajput
Barachota, so tall and proud!
Mauled the Paki-bashing crowd
You made us laugh, you made them squirm
Because with them you were always firm
This lovely land from North to South
Hails you for your daring mouth
Barachota, we love you so
You made us proud, you made us glow
Barachota, you are the man!
You gave your life for Pakistan
They killed you in the prime of youth
Barachota, our Shaheed Rajput
May he rest in peace - Barachota will always be with us in our hearts!

Considering that Barachota is probably never coming back and the fact that we all loved him so much, I have put together some lines to commemorate him:The Ballad of Barachota - Ode to the Fallen Pakistani Rajput
