Rape and Exploitation - Pakistan’s Dilemma
Posted by Salim_Chauhan Sep 19, 2005 01:41 pm
55, Thank you, arjun.
I hope you have followed each one of my posts on this topic. For Temporal`s benefit, please translate my messages in a language of one-lined clarity that somehow you succeed with in penetrating his dull mind.
Rape and Exploitation - Pakistan’s Dilemma

#49, Temporal,
Somebody gets raped, somebody makes a stupid comment, and you get on your high horse with your predetermined political agenda. I accuse you and your type of creating a circus out of poor Mokhtaran Mai`s plight.

Yes, sattire is an acceptable form of protest. But then judging by your ``Close Encounter`` masterpiece, there is no point in furthering your education.

Dobhi se bas nahiN chala to gadhay ke kaan maRoR diye. Ouch :)

Temporal, all this time I have been calling you sinister and hypocritical. I think you are basically a nice buffoon who is linguistically-challenged.

More Ouch :)

Chowk Staff,
Will you please remove the stale old ``Close Encounter`` piece of trash on FP. Why you allow this substandard piece of literary failure to linger is beyond me.
Thanks,

#45, Temporal,
Are you stupid? or are you just putting on an act. I think you need to learn some English in addition to geography. This is a sattire, but telling you that is probably a lost cause.
Man, you are really stupid, aren`t you?

Who are you to act as a censor?

Kulharee #40, {``What is amusing is that a self appointed thug is concerned about Pakistan’s image abroad? ``}

Touche. :) I just love good logic and clear cuts like this one.

For the record, I have refrained from all proposals of sisterly and motherly relations. :)

Kashmir, Pakistan, Bangladesh, and India are all part of Hindustan. End of discussion. :)

Re: # 22
Netizen,
While Field Marshal Romair can shed light on the military angle, I would suspect that presence of large numbers of ``freedom fighters/jihadists`` could account for some of the dangers an Indian could fact in ``Azad`` Kashmir. Also, it must be a militarily sensitive area. :) I have never been there. Close, but never inside.

Pakfin,
Only this ``female`` has jurisDICKtion over eeryone else`s beliefs. While most of us don`t give a $hit about ``her`` religious identity, she is the one always harping about how good she is. I suggest you tell her to Hush Up - We have all seen the picture, and we don`t like it.

#26, Gujju {``So much for ``unflinching idealism (Huh ??!!), as the chowk motto goes... ``}

Thanks for noticing and speaking up about it. Also, thanks for the extra IP addresses that allow me to continue to post. I am the first to have received the Chowk ``Forbidden`` notice and lived to talk about it. :)

I am no longer getting this message from Chowk.

Zafar, Where would they make the headquarters of the Khilafat? In Turkey or in Pakistan? ``}

Oh God! Please let it be Pakistan. Turkey is the one that ended the damned thing.

Zafar,
Excellent article with very sound advice. To harmony and positive thinking, you could add tolerance and fairness. :)

Thanks,

Nabendu,
Your enjoyable anecdote has most of the necessary elements for a Paki travelogue mit perspektif Indianishces. :) I noticed that you have included:

Liquor and how to move it into Pakistan
Paki customs (except that the tall handsome man is not mentioned, but then you were in Karachi and not Lahore. :) )
Putting your life in danger while touring the north country (even making videos of Murree)
The simple joy of Murree
Gluttony as practiced in North Pakistan
Prevalence of Marutis in Pakistan
Eating out (But now mention of your high-tipping generosity. But then you are not a fellow Punjabi to most people you met :) )
Discussions of Indian hegemony that is on every Paki mind
Description of Lahore (How you managed to find parks, and 5 of them nevertheless, is beyong me, perhaps they are all a new addition since Mr. Batuta`s visit. )

Goiing in with one suitcase, consuming one suitcase, and leaving with two.
All in all, your trip was a huge plus. Keep writing. :)

#114, {why are the Muslims from Morocco to Malysia NOT raising a huge hue and cry?``}

Mohar yaar,
Muslims, by and large, are a very loyal and decent people, as in namak hilal. They never bite the hand that feeds them, regardless of what the other hand is doing.
If non-Muslims want the same level of loyalty, they will need to be more generous with their wallets. :)
Just try it and see. Our religion is very flexibile. Do you remember the book by Sir Syed Ahmed Khan ``The Loyal Mohammedans of India.`` He was trying to kiss the British bum after 1857. :)

#18, {``“Aap to Urdu bole lete hain, shakal se bhi Mohajir lagtey hain,``}

Very subtle racist remark.
Translation: ``Mohajirs look like Indians = dark skin.`` :)

Is it any wonder I love to identify myself as a Mohajir? I just love the looks on their faces up north. :)

Romair #16, {``You description of the feudal is quite interesting and accurate, as well. You will run into a few of their off-springs on this site. That is about 2/3rd of Pakistan`s elected leaders, by the way. Was the feudal you visited a politician also? I wouldn`t be surprised if him or his close relatives were members of PPP or PML.........``}

Romair,
Fellow Rajput, finally we agree on something. :)
Well stated, my friend. PPP and PML are the bleak future that Pakistan must avoid at all costs.
