A good and timely reproduction!
Mansha may not attract a `fatwa` against him for his inability to eat meat but he may be inviting one for his following statement:
``A common man can kill a member of the same species and speaking the same language, but can not do ‘halaal’. For this, one needs a prophet’s determination and tolerance.`
This perhaps refers to the sacrifice of his son by the prophet Ibrahim which was thwarted by Allah himself. People do try to repeat this performance off and on but the human secular law thwarts it usually by treating it as homicide. But if they cannot `halaal` their `ham zubaan` they can `make them shaheed` (martyr) or send them to hell `waasil jahannam` without even eating them of course .

Re: # 3
Mansha Yaad could be declared as `Murtad` not for having stopped eating meat but for the following remarks in his story:
``A common man can kill a member of the same species and speaking the same language, but can not do ‘halaal’. For this, one needs a prophet’s determination and tolerance``.
Here he is perhaps referring to the story of sacrifice (thwarted by God himself) of his son by the prophet Ibrahim. People do try to follow this example as reported in the press off and on but they are usually thwarted in their attempt not by God but by the secular law which treats it as homicide. In India they do try to stop killing of cows by law whereas the muslims believe that non-eating of beef for 40 days and eating of pig`s meat makes one`s musalmani doubtful. So, what an irony, whereas the Hindu law is intended to protect the cow, the islamic shariah results in protecting the pig.

though , i am sure ,no molvi would give u give a fatwa upon these grounds,
because challenged sanity needs therapy not a shariyah advice,i will highly recommend that you to take an appointment t to local psychiatrist , and till the appointment date , stop
watching dr.doolitle (all parts) .
These rituals are for your own good , none else.
I think we should stop blamming Molvi`s ,persay , and, do what pleases us, why pulling their names in between.
adios

`` The Maulvi also told me the importance of the ritual that how this leads to development of the enthusiasm to shed blood to please Allah and then how one develops the will to participate in jehaad. ``
it is time we stopped participating in these ghastly rituals of the maulavis- it reminds all of pagans. Let us have clean and professional halal factories to supply good clean meat and stop these mullahs using these ghastly rituals to incite people into violence at their convenience.
These rituals are specifically designed by the mullahs to ensure barbarization of common civilians.

This story was nicely thought out and touches on something I have been thinking about too for the past several days. It could have been written differently and could have encompassed more from the protagonist`s point of view. However, it made me think and hence its purpose was served.
Well done!
Well done!
