Muhammad Hasan Askari is regarded as one of the most respected name among the critics, writers and translators of Urdu. His literary life, which shows a continuous intellectual and spiritual journey and evolution, has had a deep impact on Urdu’s literary and critical tradition. Askari was born on November 5, 1919 in a village of Buland Shehar, Meerut - a town in western Uttar Pradesh, India and died in January 18, 1978 in Karachi.
