Inzy is not only a world class batsman but as his record proves, a grat captain (100% success rate to date).
Lets not discriminate against this icon of Pakistani cricket by asking for him to be dropped.....we need him more now than ever before

Inzy is the man. Check out his batting in the first one day. When he is on there is no one quite like him

Inzee displayed his class in the last Test Match. The undisputedly substandard bowling of Bangladesh had Pakistan facing the worst possible defeat and This is when our only world class batsman showed why he is still one of the best in the business. Inziman has good two or three years of cricket in Him. I hope he stays fit and performs for Pakistan.

Running out TWO batsmen is indicative of poor judgment and selfishness. Inzimam continues to do what he does best: Sacrifice team`s interest for his own. It`s time to drop him from the team.

Erm. Far be it for me to point out Inzee Bhai did run out TWO players in his magnificent innings. And the last one at the most crucial of times. Against better teams it just will not do. Let`s see what he does in the South Africa series and then get back to this.
Still, me salutes Inzee for taking us home. Heck of an innings. I do however rate the one with Mushtaq against Aussies at home higher.
his excellency: younis has recently gotten better than just 30s.
another point, if inzee was our best bat he should bat at no. 3. shouldnt be shielded like this.

Well! Inzi is no more goonga and anda....I think, he has shown selectors, skipper and others that they can`t just ignore senior players all at once and promote nepotism. I wish Waqar is called back as Rashid got banned and then on all should play for country not for captaincy. We need expereince!

Well, he did prove today that there is still some cricket left in him and he is still capable of playing a lead role in winning matches for the country.

I don`t care how many people he runs out. Younis Khan would probably have scored 30 and then snicked one to the keeper. Inzy never throws his wicket once he has scored 30/35 runs.
He has once again proven that Imran Khan wasn`t wrong when he compared Inzy with Viv Richards. Not only do I like him because of his batting.. I also share his admiration for Multani halwa.

Hate to say i told you all so, but I told you so. Point in case how Inzee Bhai got Younis Khan run out without facing a ball. My point proven.
Is he really worth it then ? Even if he wins us the test tomorrow ?

I think the guy needs to get back to his fat chubby self again. A fat Inzamam scoring runs is better than a slim Inzamam not scoring runs..........

Poor Dieting technique got Inzamam = resulting in losing mental alertness & getting a mild depression.
He should have used high protein Atkins diet - to lose weight but not energy.

...after the world cup debacle, i`ve been too heartbroken to watch any cricket...as for inzi, he needs to wake the hell up when he`s at the crease...the last time i can really remember him performing was the series in sri lanka a couple of years back...
#15 Posted by usman767 on September 3, 2003 2:55:58 pm
i think inzi is still better then many other players commanly found in our side and also throughout the world. One duck cannot decide a fate of the player. some time ago we all thought that Brian Lara is gone for all money but now he ranks no 1 in test rating. So what does it say? Inzi`s recent form is not as bad scoring 35 and 43. So he just need time in the middle. But i think people like u just know to critisize a person who is highly respected in cricketing community all around the world.

Aaah ! Finally someone who agrees with me. Or i think does agree with me. Inzi for all his merits really does throw the balance of the team off in the batting department with his inability to run. Youhanna is bad at running between the wickets too, but Inzi is a disaster and just hitting boundaries is not really what it is all about. Two non-runners are much too many for one team. Anwar when he was there was rather lame too.
As for Inzi, there used to be a time when he was great in slips; now that is not the case too. He might have class still, but if it does not really help out the team then i do not really see the point. Mark Taylor btw was carried because he was a great captain and he soon enough clued in to the fact that he had to make way and left himself.
I also agree with dali re: the mental weakness of the team. There really is no real will to win among the seniors (at least most of them). It be there only among the Juniors as they are invariably too young to be jaded or politicised.
Just my 2 cents.
