temporal,
i think i may have been unconsciously avoiding this. and perhaps i still am. i guess i`m somewhat still `in pieces` over the fact that one of my friends left this world too soon, and who knows whether the peace he could never find in this temporal world, will find him in the next one.
`tis always difficult, this coping with losing the ones you love. and the pain always returns when you see another friend in pain and feel helpless as to what can be done. prayers and just being there don`t seem quite enough. . .
khair, i felt every word of what you wrote. which is why it befuddles me as to why i find it difficult to respond to this. . .perhaps it is precisely because of that.
bspnd and rahs. .
love, ana xo

(long post…perhaps)
hellbound, hamidm2, ofayyaz, Jawahara, adnan, qambar moucho gracias!
MBZI you think with Almighty this would have been perfect?... somehow i do not believe that the utter darkness brought on by grief and gloomy sorrow can be shaken off easily in this instance and to continue with this train of thought…
dreamz you quote haan magar tere siwa ...tere siwa ...tere siwa!…again there are times…when relief is not there…not there…simply not there!...
Minhaj…wanted some kind of a closure…realized it is not possible…ever…this was not a simple case of altering marks sheet…chiragh suffered by comparison and was doomed to be a failure in his own eyes …which he bravely tried to hide…and foolishly perhaps tried not to reconcile…
Raka zulekha mard thee ya aurat?...
soundmeister…nothing prepares one for handling death…and even when you have handled one death…and think you are a little familiar with the trauma…another one catches you unawares…and then another….till…
saman...was he successful?...am not sure…perhaps he was in frenzied spells…but overall…am not sure…
skylight am out of the loop for a long while…so the D-76 is alive and kicking…good!
ferzi...yes i cannot!...perhaps only politicians and serial killers can…you write…one often needs to ask whether nostalgia in such cases is for the hug, the encounter`s end or one`s own anguish……you know how tactile i am…and how i appreciate hugs…even of the cyber variety…but in this instant…this is…was…is a little more than idle reminiscing or nostalgia…as i mentioned earlier…was seeking a closure…but cannot find one…cathartic redemption?...not even that…looking in the mirror?...am not sure…
…thanks for all those who read and not commented also for echoboom who read not but commented….

After reading this I still won`t know how to cope with death. You cannot too.
``A hug
just one warm hug
at encounter`s end
anguished me.``
Yes. But one often needs to ask whether nostalgia in such cases is for the hug, the encounter`s end or one`s own anguish. I know you will understadn what I am saying...
``The only consolation is that you are at peace, finally.``
I don`t like this line. I hate it. I hate peace when the other is left in pieces.
Love you for penning this...

Temporal,
That was a touching piece. We all have a Chiragh or inhabit him in our lives.

the author states:
``Kodak used to make a developer D-76.``
Kodak still makes D-76, that is, in the opinion of this black and whiter, the best developer around, and you can still do the same developing process - millions continue to do so... the author writes as if it is something in the past... infact, with the advent of film scanners, photoshop, and photo inkjet printers - you can have the best of both worlds: Kodak Tri X Black and White film, and digitalized images using film scanners and photo printers...
you have a real life silver negative, and digital image on your computer -
some day the digital cameras will come to a level where it is comparable in price and quality to the existing SLR film cameras... we are not there yet...
one day you might be able to write ``Kodak used to make D-76`` - but now is not that time -
now is the time to make new discoveries in the world of hybrid digital and film - the best of both worlds...

t,
That is the tragedy of our lives - we judge people by their scores, their marksheet - ignoring the person himself.
That he was a successful human being is evident from this affectionate tribute.
Regards.

t-bhai,
This was beautiful.
A lot of people, self included, have no idea how to react when confroned with death. You want to experience the pain, but that would mean ripping off masks so deeply stuck on you`ve started mistaking them for your face.
Hopefully, this piece will help some of us cope with death better.
Thanks for this,
N

so Chiragh still got to do a lot , achieve a lot despite being not `so good` or mediocre ,at many things ?
Is this a true story ?

Thanks for sharing . This guy was so alive with philosophy and poetry but the marksheet... Always some point scoring system that made him feel bad, man you must not blame yourself too much for his ``crucial lie`` I mean there is a whole complicated system at work here that made this guy feel so inadequate. But he is remembered by you and when one is remembered by friends he is in some way still successful.

temp: yaar, whenever my nostalgia starts waning, you have to come up with something to bring it back. How cruel of you!
Enjoyed reading it. Thanks.
