Very good post.

One may agree or disagree with masadi on a given issue, but one can not deny that he is original and Chowk should publish his stuff.

madani sahib,

..... masadi mian is a nutcase suffering from schizophrenia - also called dementia praecox........ a severe mental disorder characterized by some, but not necessarily all, of the following features: emotional blunting, intellectual deterioration, social isolation, disorganized speech and behavior, delusions, and hallucinations.

it is also defined as any of a group of psychotic disorders usually characterized by withdrawal from reality, illogical patterns of thinking, delusions, and hallucinations, and accompanied in varying degrees by other emotional, behavioral, or intellectual disturbances....... schizophrenia is associated with dopamine imbalances in the brain and may have an underlying genetic cause ......

.......... we must help masadi mian and the first step towards a cure is accepting the fact that he has a disease ....... so please stop encouraging his mad behaviour and help the poor man before he kills himself ....you don't want to be responsible for his death, do you ?

... thank you for your support

Re: # 17

masadi mian,

.... can't you take a hint ? ..... nobody wants to read your nonsensical conspiracy theories where the us elite are responsible for everything from aids to earthquakes ..... as madani sahib pointed out, you should try and write something original and get it published in a refereed journal instead of recycling the same trash over and over again .......... now shoo !

Re: # 17 Dear Friend Masadi I have learnt many things from your blog ( which was some how much harder to get). If you start copying stuff from American magazine ( like some scientist here) and give abstarct as your thinking will get published sure. The problem they are always finding "common denominator" all they want mediocore to publish which is accepted as conventional wisdom. This tendency is proliferting as usa publishers wants to publish more so they can sell more stuff.
This thing happening in even scientic fields as now it is publish or perish race. Unfortunately Indians ( sub group is pakistan), chinese , arabs are very bad in such matter. Recently I was reviewing a papers by Indian Prof. from usa with Chnese grad student. The same professor had written article a very good work ( 2 years ago) regarding " nonclassical boundary conditions and tests for unique ( if they exist) solution in some different partial diff. equs in steady state field problems. As a refree I was delighted to recommend publication. Now this article was almost verbatum same 80%, it just added some computations. So suggested editors to cut it to size and publish as note. But they publiushed as Full "new" research. After some time had talk with gentlman and he agreed to my comments, but journal publisheded as full papers. They told me they need "volume" to sell. This american journals are made business by "elites".( Acta Mathematica and Acta Mechanica were better in their class ) In this matter Russians and british are far better, few magzines american journals are all full of "conference papers" which are not worth even of paper written on. I do even touch "conference" or "symposium" as it all unadultrated paper waste, one should read only read "Refreed" journals.
Now your problem is there are people they do not like different things or different way of looking at same things and interpreat without reference. You are like eagle soring without map and prejudice and they do not like that. It is easy to get in mud and start Gandhi and jinnah stuff up to end of word. It is same garbage and worshipping of "western elites". Now they give voluemes of references who said what etc. What is that and what is use. One has to shout to tell what is new from last time, all going on same beaten path way. All information , knowledge and wisdom but just reapeatring like parrot.
They have always tried to repress what you want to say. First they neglected you, then they rediculed you then attacked and then banned your writing. ( They can tolerate any bad language, vulgarity, lack of brain and repeatings-J+G which can kill reader by fatigue etc but they can not accept to publish you you attack the church of white elite worshipping and apeing wanaby white man, like wearing coat and tie in boiling steaming heat in summer- then they take this muslim man to usa to univ, they take and kill his brain and then put back white monkey apeing behavious.)
You start silly things , praising "elite" ways like "ngo" controled people, some silly american comes and makes obscene gesture and blurrs ear damaging orgy of instruments then it is something great. They want us to get excited as some women and men in indecent dress ran immodestly is big thing a party of revolution in action. I suggest why not be happy with wresting match for Shere Punjab with pailwans rolling in earth. Why we need always feel good as some gora came here and pocketed our money. Masadi your problem is you have no inferiority complex, they want that imbibed in your writing then it becomes "mature" thoughtful writing. You can not do that type of writing ,you were not brain washed as other pig headed who consider any thing written in holy roman script by white man or woman as pur "Classics". Wonder how you escaped from that american zoo called american college. You should thanks. You are similar to Karl Marx he read in his poetic manifesto, up to now all thinker have explained world how it was but he said I am telling what should be done. And that is objectionable to elites. You show true path you feel (I do not agree with you 100% natuarally) but I like the way of you thinking. I do not like people making snide remarks about you without reading any thing. There is no hope of improvement.
But Friend Masadi you picked up unbeaten path and they are stoning you , your path is lonely and hard but is worth. Please continue writing, I Thank you.
I will suggest a beautiful poem written by mr. Thakur .may be many old timers may remember " Akela chalore". May be erudite Muzumdar can give here in verbatum for great poem reading ( I can remember about only 75% , I will not dare to tarnslate any good poetry as best poem is like great rivers meeting Imagination, construction(rythum) and spiritual distillation)
Your path is lonely as many teachers have been ages , again thanks and do not dispair. One day you will look at your own life and you will have epilogue , you were honest and did needed and that is sufficient for gentleman or lady.

PS: I have only tried once and they published and may be beacuse I did not criticise anybody but praised.

Hope people will excuse for my "english" it is hard for me with dislexia, karitoconus and many attack but few like so all this effort to support Mr.Masadi . Some times I felt bad for so many errors but just like mother is to child all of you are Kind and read and am very graetful alway. Good day.

I would like an explanation from chowk staff concerning why two dozen articles of mine, submitted to them have been censored for no reason whatsoever.

laddu,

If that is so, it is quite terrible.

I'd say the area has seen quite an influx of Bengalis(Bangladeshis?). Bengali could be quite easily heard, maybe even more than Hindusthani!

Majumdar,

Ah, that way. Actually the gurgaon-where I live-Karims isn't that bad.

But I must say the Karims Biryani sucks, although theri burra kawab and qalia, I think, was quite brilliant.

I'd rate Shiraz, Zeeshan, Royal etc, from Calcutta as much better Biryani joints even if they haven't served the goddamn mughals!

Re: # 12

Shoaib bhai,

I lived in Janpura adjacent to Nizammudin for a long period of time and it used to be much cleaner in those days in 1970-s , but that was only after 1980-s the mullahs and Afghanis started turning it into a ghetto complete with smugglers, theives, pimps and other subversive agents.

Shoaib,

There is a Karim in Nizamuddin too. The original of course is in Jama Masjid area. Apparently, the Nizamuddin Karim's is not particularly great so I am told.

Regards

Laddu,

Firstly I'd disagree with you about the kabab shops. That'd take away from the charm of the place.

Abotu the second point, I being new to Delhi, wouldn't know too much abotu it, but are you talking abotu the trustees of the dargah?

Dost,

Yes, I missed out on that, but I do intend to go and watch it.

But for that I'll have to wait for a holiday on a Thursday!

And your right about Ghalib's tomb being there. In fact I've put up a pic of it ona blog :

thetimesofbullshit[.]blogspot[.]com (remove brackets to get the url)

And I dont think Karim's is on the same campus. Karim's is very close to the Jama Masjid.

Re: # 6

Rotting flesh is impure on every account - even if the animal is killed the halal way.

Then dirtiness that prevails over the place and the stench from numerous chai walas and kabab shops certainly contributes to the dirtiness of that place.

Then the dirtiness of people with filthy minds who are all the time looking to make a quick buck out of miseries of poor and helpless people who come to the mazar to get rid of their miseries and woes.

That is the real impurity - the people inhabiting and controlling the land around the dargah are the real najis who do not care about any thing but their own greed..

shoaib:

If someone is less religious and more spiritual, he would probably enjoy Thursday qawaalis there more. Also, there is Ghalib's tomb in the same 'campus'. And Karim's too.

good read with nice fluency but it is very short for a travelogue and ends abruptly.
