``Markets just opened to technological fast food
While the barbecues are still going in the bazaar
In a country that has seen time travel
And is no stranger to the touch of the Loo * *.``

Ras,

These 4 lines - wonderfully expressive!

Anita

Amin:

Expats remitting taxes? You must be kidding.

Contribution to Citizen`s Foundation, Edhi, Burney and some other NGO`s yes, but to Nawaz Inc. a very vehement no.

I will defend Ras` right to think, exclaim, probe, eulogise, and pen thoughts about the land of the pure.

Changes are initiated from the mind (and heart)

before they find hands and souls of their own.

regrads

I feel every time I read something that point accusations at ``them`` (Against bureaucratic and elitist tea parties & Uniforms, Nawabs, Begums, and the Stars) that ``we`` (the educated living overseas) are as much to blame for the problems of Pakistan.

Quoting a famous line ``if you are not part of the solution then you are part of the problem``. Once we leave Pakistan what is our contribution to that land other than comments and opinion.

In the USA, the citizen has to pay tax to USA even though he might be working in any other country. So is the case with other developed and some underdeveloped countries (like Philipines).

We always take cover by saying that let ``them`` pay taxes before ``we`` will pay, etc. and where does that get us.

Lets stop sitting in our cosy homes with power and water, and enjoying education and health facilities in the west and offer more than advice.

Amin.
