Dilshad,
Claiming to be woman is a hoot.Claim indeed. As if!BTW what is androgenic ally,a male ally?
I see nothing contradictory in my post so could you perhaps enlighten me?Animism is not usually considered a religion in its own right,if that`s what you`re talking about.I mention Hinduism and Judaism because they are still considered religions, and no,I do not want to go into a discussion on how both are ways of life.
Studebaker,
Those who lived in the Indus valley would be considered Hindus in todays terms because they lived in the area and worshipped a Mother Goddess and a god who bore some resemblance to Shiva. Please don`t tell me you thought they were Muslims.Look up any history books and you will find that-(not in Paki books I agree, but that`s your problem, not mine.)I`d be able to give you the name, but all I remember is that these 2 books are standard textbooks for Indian history, and published by OUP,one written by a Brit and one by a Bong.If any Indians out there remember, please let us know! It just occurred to me that you possibly think the Vedas don`t belong to Hindus at all-you`d be right in a way, they belong to all of humanity.
What vitriol against the Jews. Why the less said the better? So not only do people like you want them to leave Israel, you would like them to disappear from the face of the earth.Remind you of anyone? When this is the way you feel about them,I can understand why they want a state of their own and why they defend it with all they have.Interestingly,if you live in the US,your taxes are going to support Israels`defence.Shouldn`t you do something about that?
People, please,if you`re frustrated at the way history has turned out, don`t make up your own.

If Buddhism appealed to world 100% of world would be Buddhist b/c they were here before Jews Christians Hindu Islam, etc., etc.Not necessarily in that order!
No,Buddhism was not here before everyone else.It was either the Hindus or the Jews(a Hindu -Jew conspiracy from 5000 years ago).Of course, animism was probably here first of all.
Please get basic facts right before you decide to share them.

it is only when you have a three car garage and air-conditioning that you don`t really want to die .............
But surely Mohammad Ata and Hanif and Sharif all had all of that.I agree old Marx knew what he was saying about religion being the opium of the (starving) masses, but this is more than a class struggle going on.However, only fools could deny that there is a large class element to it.

Jay,are you the same Jay who sends letters to Outlook?Just curious. Please just tell me you are not the hate-mongering spammer who has been inundating them.I would dearly love to send him to Afghanistan.

The world has certainly entered into a more dagerous phase.
Things are likely to get worse before they get better.

SR:
What could have been a discussion about broader international issues has, as usual, been hijacked by the sinister members of the Pak-Bharat dushmani club and the pissing match is on, yet again.
Yeh ham nahi, hamari desh bhakti bolti hai :)

Yes, the Iraq war did prove dangerous to Saddam Hussein. And worse yet, the people of Iraq are actually getting attention from the Americans who worry constantly about how their feelings. This could set an even more dangerous precedent in muslim countries: the elites having to take note of the ordinary people.
Will it set a dangerous precedence to other dictators who try to take over countries. I very much hope so. King Assad II of Syria is already shaking in his boots, fearful of losing his Aba Ji`s inheritance. I have a lot of respect for Lord Ahmed (even though the title sounds quite funny), but he (like a lot of other people) needs to get his priorities straight when it comes to the rights of the people vs. the privileges of dictators. Like a lot of pakistani political theorists as well.
PS: How about this for a dangerous precedence: The democratic government refused to cooperate with the US action, and the US understood and respected this decision. This is the other dangerous precedent of the Iraq War, particularly if people in muslim countries realize the proper way to get respect for their country - to have a democratically elected government.

There we go again...!!! Nothing has changed...!!!
What could have been a discussion about broader international issues has, as usual, been hijacked by the sinister members of the Pak-Bharat dushmani club and the pissing match is on, yet again.
But at least have some ground rules... The Bharati janta on the left and the Paki jehadi gang on the right. Ready: Hold the Desi Cola hoses in one hand and vatvani in the other. At the count of three Aim, keeping a 45 degree angle, and shoot...
Everyone else get out of the way lest ye be caught in the rain of crossfire...

You are welcome to your opinions about Dholakia and Naipaul. We are not discussing them here. In any case, Dholakia and Naipaul do not spend their time whining about some grievance or the other. They are achievers and they are busy encouraging all indians to achieve. The NRI meeting was not a hindu meeting (I realize that in the Pakistani imagination only hindus live in India) but you are welcome to think of it any way you want to.
We are discussing the speech of this Lord Fraud, who two days after british muslims committed a suicide bombing in a Tel Aviv cafeteria, gives us a lecture about islamophobia!!!! About bigotry against muslims in Britain ! Without a word about the tide of hatred and bigotry and backwardness that seems to characterize a significant part of the the british muslims.
All I can say to this Lord Fraud is this: you are lucky you live in Britain. If you lived in a muslim country and were a minority and some of your people wanted to indulge in violence and attacks on the majority, you would probably all be killed. Is that not a fact?

Peace to all,
Talking about dangerous precednts, lets just go back and read all the comments in one sitting and we will see a dangerous pattern of just blaming each other and blasting on each other, with out even weighing what the other have to say.
The other person is just wrong because he is not saying what I am saying. What most of the friends are doing here is equivalent to the bombings carried out by the terrorists, the difference is that their`s is physical ours is at intelectal level. Although i fail to see any level of intelectual thought in most of the posts here. Its just criticism for the sake of criticism.
If you want to solve the problem bring up a solution, dont just come and bash others.
I think we should keepour one eye, on the terrorist, and the other on the reason of their hatered. With a gun in one hand we should eliminate all possible terrorists, and with a plan of education and economic development, we should kill any reason for the frustartion of disfranchised masses. This two tier approach will bring success, else we can debate for ever and not rid ourselves from this problem.
We cannot expect one to end without other being taken care of. Its an egg and the chicken situation. So instead of debating which came first, we should make charga(roast) of the chiken, and garnish it with a BAM of hard boiled egg, and have a party. Their would be no egg to bring the chicken, and no chicken to lay another egg. End of story.
