every smallest thing has its own pros and cons...n u hav been talking of two states...so u had to

hav plenty of points either ways i.e. talking for or against america....
The lady says NewYork izn`t a place worth bringing up ure children in....the lad says Karachi is

unfair by all means...but things are relative....where does this fact go?....
as far as NY is concerened..it can be a gud place to go to for an MBA or MS after ure graduation

....thats wen u r mature enuff to decide for the good n bad...and u should definitely make use of

a better studying opportunity there....but ure li`l kids can no doubt get into unwanted habits

living no matter how carefully in NY.......thats relativity!!!!!!!!
Neways though i got no experience of either of the places i would jus encourage the lady here for

her decision ...children of paki parents shd always b brought up in pakistan lest they will grow

up into either confused desis or totally goras...this has to be agreed upon please...characters v

wud like to see in our kids i dont think they can b imprinted in them living in states...
and for the weaknesses in karachi and in general all over Pakistan....``You shdn expect a bird to fly with broken wings``....or should u?....i wud just pray that pakis after being significant in their fields stay in pak for a better pakistan rather than migrating over for their better careers.....Lets hope for the best and work for the best as well..why not make it the ``Land of the Pure``...

well i guess she is so innocent..here in Pakistan rapes occur in broad daylight , soemtimes even mobs witness such rapes...who can forget Mukhataran Mai`s case.....phew...
and our men who only pretend that they r decent , dont let a single opportunity go to gaze a woman with X-ray machine( their eyes) and pass filty comments....even in buses they take full advantage of rush....and dont forget to perform their duties which iincludes brushing shoulders....etc.
Moreover honor killings r the worst and the saddest part of this so called Islamic society where all the laws r thouhght to be enforced on women...Mullah jees r there just to criticize women..i.e how the 21st century Muslim women carry themselves.
Our ``ghairat walay bhais`` kill their sisters on the name of honour just to satisf their ``jhootee shan``.Although everybody knows there is no concept of honor killings in Islam.
the thing is that we have mould our own religion for our very own benefits.Mullah sahiban uexploit Islam to carve thier ways in SIYASAT(POLTICS)..
so thats our very own Islamic Repulic of Pakistan where women r not safe from their loving and ghayrat walay Brothers...i wonder where there prestige or ghayrat goes when they lustfully look at women....who may b someone`s sister or wife or mother...
we rthe best HYPOCRITES!
we should be called the BEST HYPOCRITIC NATION of the world...
and the name of our country should be the BEST HYPOCRIES` REPUBLIC OF PAKISTAN....

[She may not have experienced in Karachi bias, terror and Mulla influence, what you so dramatically pointed out.]

Take a pig out to a five-star hotel and it will immediately start searching for a gutter, and if it doesn`t find one, becomes restless. Bring it back to a slum and it will immediately settle down cosily in the nearest gutter. Similarly, men (and women) usually like to find surroundings in which they`re comfortable. This lady might have grown up in surroundings that she didn`t find in the US, and that`s why she returned to Pakistan. Plain and simple.

[And then there are people like Sameerjb (post # 1), coming from fundamentalist and extremist Hindu stock, followers of Balls of Thackray, Advani, Joshi and Modi, but if I recall some of his posts from the past, posing as Pakistani Muslims.]

Coming from an ethnic Pushtun, it sounds like nothing but a pathetic joke.

Hello to every one. Came back after some time, read this article and decided to post a response.

Dear Talha, every one has a right to express his or her views freely.

This lady could have formed her views after comparing the circumstances in the USA and Pakistan that were peculiar to her only. She may not have experienced in Karachi bias, terror and Mulla influence, what you so dramatically pointed out.

There may be people like you who think totally otherwise. They may believe that the USA may be far better than Pakistan in terms of all socio-economic terms. Again, this may come from your peculiar circumstances.

Then there may be people like me who would feel comfortable in both the USA or Pakistan, because we feel any where else was simply too uncomfortable, that these two countries have done so much for us that we remain grateful to them.

And then there are people like Sameerjb (post # 1), coming from fundamentalist and extremist Hindu stock, followers of Balls of Thackray, Advani, Joshi and Modi, but if I recall some of his posts from the past, posing as Pakistani Muslims.

once again...ad nauseam nauseam nauseam until thoroughly nauseated, and puking, the front page becomes the battlefield for india vs. pakistan and hindu vs. muslim. it`s enough to make one avoid the front page all together.

Bottom Line: If you want to find a country where you can fully practice your religion of choice, however religious you are you`d be hard pressed to find one better outside westernised countries like the UK or States. Here you can practice as much or as little as you like without bother. That is why millions of people have emigrated and STAYED. That is also unfortunately why fundamentalists of any religion find it easy to come to these countries. POINT FINAL

Mr. Hindu, don`t talk the talk if you can`t act which your leadership has recently shown in a 6-8 month standoff on the border, humiliated and frustrated you had retreat because you knew you can`t do a damn thing. You know if it ever came to that we will NUKE you back to stone age with your 1000 gods. That will be the end of Hindus and your so called religion. Even if we were nuked our religion will survive and thrive.
The bottom line is India knows they don`t have the guts to fight, read the article on today`s paper about your military officers.
So take your dark, skinny and ugly asses out of Chowk and find yourself a new site dedicated to strictly Hindus to spread your hate and powerty stricken mentality. Plus your inferioirty complex.

Land of the Pure is quiet a eye opener. As an indian, i was not aware of the plight of the women in pakistan. i must say that pakistan had highly censored media as all these stories dont make headlines or discussed.

what i often wonder is how come the feudal system is still prevalent in pakistan? right after independence, indian government passed laws that took care of all the big zamindars and nawabs basically curtailing their assets and power. Why didnt pakistan took similar steps? As per my understanding this ancient feudal system is abhorrent and could only create trouble for the state.

Hey, at least she was honest enough to leave. Better than the UrsTtrulys of the world who enjoy the freedoms and benefits of this society yet are the first to abuse it.
