sabeen, your piece took me back to the smells of itwaar bazaar - fruits ki smell combined with this musty dust smell...:)
Faizahussain said Itwar bazaar is like Walmart..i think that belittles itwaar bazaar by comparing it to a corporate multinational giant. Itwaar bazaar is so much more..walmart is so cold and impersonal while one can actually interact and see people who make the things they sell at sunday bazaar. Poles apart. thankfully.
btw will reply soon

Oey hoey, don`t remind me that I need to go to the Sunday Bazaar today myself to fill up the refrigerator with veggies! Though I like being around in the mela atmosphere it`s tiring and dehydrating in the summers. But one can sure get his or her hands on the cheapest stuff with minimum money in the pocket and go back home satisfied and happy that some shopping HAS been done! Had there been no Itwaar Bazaar a Sunday would be quite boring and incomplete... at least for me!
It`s human nature to be lazy when there`s a chance... workaholics being the ones forcing themselves out of the lethargy with constant self-descipline... but it`s good to laze around and do nothing once in a while, and Sundays are THE days to do it.
Very nice article Sabeen!

``...i LOVE sundays...nothing like getting up early ...
so do I but I loved it more when I was in school. aaah its long to have felt the real maza of waiting anxiously for a holiday. Since when I have joined University [of course, Hostel ;) ], there is no such pressure which has faded the maza of waiting for SUNDAYs and playing ``ASHES SERIES`` with friends. Now, Every day could be a Sunday if I want and I think I should carry it on till I step into the `real` world. :)
Anyway, Thanks for the nice read, Sabeen and Chowk-staph.
:) @ majnoon fakir giving the writer a sports car. :P

`` Many inworld think Mo Ali (boxer- ) is same as MO Ali JInnah. ``
Do not watse a sunday by roaming the streets. Above quote is from a pak genious, ahmadmadani. Just, is there a chance to salvage pak history, by claiming that Mohammed Ali is the founeder of pakistan, drop the word jinnah. What will be the response of the americans to this slight of hand by pak historians.
There are great ideas on chowk, do not waste it in the crime filled streets of pakistan, log on and spill it out on chowk, better than the real chowks of pakistan.

...i LOVE sundays...nothing like getting up early and drinking in all the quietness...settling down on the couch with a big cuppa tea and all the sunday papers....a huge lunch/brunch....watching old movies....re-reading all your favorite books, indulging in the comfortable familiarity of it all...just lazing around and doing absolutely nothing productive....god bless sundays...

A good effort overall:)
There are times when I wish I could just indulge in wasting a complete Sunday, but for some reason life in America seems to deprive one of every second that they might want to just relax. There is always something that needs to be done. The trips to Itwaar bazaar, you see everybody and their dog at Itwaar Bazaar; Itwaar bazaar is the pakistani version of Wal Mart. THanks for a putting up an article that brought the much needed smile to my face.
