Another day of celebration & rejoicing: May more Amreekan THUGS get killed wherever they are occupiers & oppressors. Every muslim`s prayer & hope.

Bloodiest day for US forces in Iraq
Thursday 27 January 2005, 0:39 Makka Time, 21:39 GMT

US Marine Corps has declined to provide details of the crash

A US Marine Corps helicopter has crashed in western Iraq killing at least 31 US servicemen while six other soldiers were killed in clashes with armed groups.

AbdoolAmreeka humdrum & tahmaque: Your bodybags are waiting for you in IRAQ.

``Early this morning, 30 Marines and one sailor of the 1st Marine Division and the 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing of the 1st Marine Expeditionary Force died when their CH-53E `Super Stallion` helicopter crashed near Ar Rutbah [in] Al Anbar Province here in Iraq,`` said Lt General John Sattler from his headquarters at Falluja.

The US military had earlier issued a statement saying ``a US Marine Corps transport helicopter crashed on 26 January at approximately 1.20am (2220 GMT Tuesday) near al-Rutbah while conducting security and stabilisation operations``.

Earlier in the day, speaking to Aljazeera from Ramadi, Muhammad Abd al-Rahman, an independent Iraqi journalist, said local residents reported seeing several US military helicopters on low-altitude flights over the area where the crash took place, which is apparently beyond the reach of civilians.

US forces use transport aircraft for ferrying both goods and troops in response to frequent attacks on US convoys on Iraq`s roads, Abd al-Rahman said.

But as these aircraft fly at relatively slow speeds and at low altitudes, they are vulnerable to rocket attacks by fighters who can fire and withdraw.

No group has claimed responsibility for the downing of the helicopter so far, he added.

Four US marines were killed in
the western province of Anbar

The US Marines declined to provide the cause of the crash.

It said a search-and-rescue operation was under way. The statement said casualties would be confirmed later.

In a separate incident, four US marines were killed in the western province of Anbar on Wednesday, the military said in a statement.

One soldier was killed in a clash with fighters north of Baghdad, the US military also said, while another was killed in a bomb blast in the capital itself.

``A Task Force Baghdad soldier died from an improvised-explosive-device detonation about 4.30 pm (1330 GMT) 26 January,`` said a US military statement.

The latest fatalities mark the highest single-day toll of US soldiers in Iraq - 37 - pushing the total to 1418 since the March 2003 invasion.

The crash came as US-led forces, Iraqi national guardsmen, interim government offices and other election targets were hit around the country.

[harimau: as i recall, you have for years been defending the brutal murders of 3,000 innocent people in Gujrat. This puts you in the same category as the human savages that (in the quote you provide from me) I said exist in every society. So, please keep this in mind before you start commenting on savagery in other societies. (You may revert to calling me names now, which is your normal response when you shown the mirror).]

So, what happened? The FBI made a visit to your mosque? Why this support for the Shrub at the expense of the Ummah?

Oh, yeah, it is all because of Gujarat. Sorry I forgot. We Hindus are supposed to bend over and offer our @rses whenever Islamic thugs show up with knives in hand.

Screw that stuff, man. That died with Hazrat Aurangzeb, Beloved of Allah, Right-Hand Companion of Mohammad, etc., etc., etc. So much as a `boo` out of your fellow religionists, we will make roast hash out of you. (Sorry to repeat the Shrub`s attitude with some paraphrasing.)

U.S. hostage in Iraq pleads for his life
Full STORY
AbdoolAmreeka Hmdrum and AbdoolAmreeka tahmaque should have been in this news instead.
It is sad that a Bush-hater has been put in this position. Obviously if you are American, you need not be respected by the Civilised World.

``I`m not asking for any help from President (George W.) Bush because I know of his selfishness and unconcern for those who`ve been pushed into this hellhole.``

Hallums asked for help from Arab leaders ``especially President Moammar Gadhafi because he`s known for helping those who are suffering.``

Those who support US THUGS meet this fate:AbdoolAmreekas watch out!

Good news:

In other violence Tuesday, gunmen assassinated a senior Iraqi judge, identified as Qais Hashim Shameri, secretary general of the judges council in the Justice Ministry.

Assailants reportedly sprayed his car with bullets. The judge`s driver was injured.

Assailants also killed a man who worked for a district council in western Baghdad, three staffers from the Communications ministry, and the son of an Iraqi translator working with U.S. troops.

More Good news:

In Baghdad, fierce clashes killed 11 Iraqi policemen. And insurgents warned the violence could get even worse.

With just days left before the Jan. 30 election, rebels handed out leaflets Tuesday in Baghdad`s Rashad neighbourhood with promises to fill the street with the blood of anyone who casts a ballot.

More Good news!

Five U.S. soldiers were killed when a U.S. Bradley Fighting Vehicle rolled into a canal during a combat patrol.
Another U.S. soldier died of wounds from a roadside bomb in Baghdad.

BAGHDAD, Iraq (AP) - An al-Qaida lieutenant in custody in Iraq has confessed to masterminding most of the car bombings in Baghdad, including the bloody 2003 assault on the U.N. headquarters in the capital, authorities said Monday.

Sami Mohammed Ali Said al-Jaaf, also known as Abu Omar al-Kurdi, ``confessed to building approximately 75 percent of the car bombs used in attacks in Baghdad`` since the Iraq war began, according to the interim Iraqi prime minister`s spokesman, Thaer al-Naqib.

Al-Jaaf was taken into custody Jan. 15 and confessed to 32 car bombings, a government statement said, including the bombing of the U.N. headquarters that killed the top U.N. envoy in Iraq, Sergio Vieira de Mello, and 21 other people.

The suspect, a top lieutenant of al-Qaida`s Iraq leader, Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, also built the car bomb used to attack a shrine in the Shiite holy city of Najaf that killed more than 85 people, including Ayatollah Mohammed Baqir al-Hakim, in August 2003, the statement said.

It said he also assembled the car bomb used in May to assassinate Izzadine Saleem, then president of the Iraqi Governing Council.

Two other militants linked to al-Zarqawi`s terror group also have been arrested. They included the chief of al-Zarqawi`s propaganda operations and one of the group`s weapons suppliers, the government statement said.``(AP)

now that the Son of Zarqawi -- the mastermind of mother of all insurgencies has been captured -- we definitely have won -- USA has won the war -- Bush has finally broken the the backbone of Iraqi insurgency -- the insurgency is over -- viva la Booosh

In the latest attack, a suicide bomber blew up a carload of explosives Monday outside the headquarters of Allawi`s party, wounding at least 10 people in the latest blast claimed by al-Qaida in Iraq. The violence raised fresh fears about the safety of voters in Sunday`s national elections, which Sunni Muslim insurgents have threatened to sabotage.(AP)

That`s the difference between you and me...I am 100% against this stupid war, but while the US army is out there, i`m hoping they`ll be able to complete their mission and some good can come out of this for the Iraqis...

You, OTOH, desperately WANT this election to fail, regardless of what it means for the Iraqis....all this talk of Islamic solidarity is BS....I didn`t hear a peep out of the ``muslim world`` when saddam was killing muslims...

In WWII, the allies used Joe Stalin, a brutal dictator by all accounts, to defeat the bigger evil...why not treat dubya like stalin if it means something better for the Iraqis...or as I suspect, this isn`t about the Iraqis for you...it`s about your muslim pride, and scoring points...

Iraqi exiles shun election as registration extended worldwide:

No matter how hard the US THUGS might try, they are doomed to be crushed & humiliated to be witnessed on TV. The THUGS have never ever won a single war or battle anywhere.
Let more bodybags roll in--including those of Abdoooool Amreekan`s.

``Bring them on``--the THUG in chief muttered. He`ll get them, those bodybags-InshaAllah!

Election Farce: US defeat.
SYDNEY (AFP) - Only around one in 10 Iraqi exiles eligible to vote in the January 30 election have yet registered worldwide, prompting a two-day global extension of the registration period, election organizers said Sunday.

``In Australia we are getting roughly about 15 percent of what we expected. Some countries are getting much less,`` said Bernie Hogan, who is heading the operation in Australia for the International Organization for Migration (IOM).

Overall the figure worldwide was ``about one in 10 of what we expected``, Hogan told AFP.

Hogan said fear and concerns about what would be done with confidential information had played a role in putting voters off registering, as well as fear and possibly reluctance to vote while U.S. forces still occupy Iraq....read on (continued)

Re: # 24
Hamidm,
{``i agree with you - afghanistan and iraq are a good start , but there is a long road ahead .......... the fact of the matter is that other than turkey, none of the islamic countries, indonesia and malaysia included, have any established democratic credentials and the isidious idelogy of political islam is always lurking around the corner .......... in my view the main culprit in all this is saudi arabia``}

I couldn`t agree with you more. True democracy, along with firm secular credentials, is the road to human rights, peace, and prosperity for the entire Muslim world. I have visited Tukey in September and am returning in late January. What a delight to see a ``Muslim`` people not obsessed with Islam. One can hear the Azan while bars and restaurants continue to serve excellent Turkish Efes beer. In fact, Turkey is more like India than Pakistan, which started off trying to emulate its brother to the west - even copying its flag.

Of course Saudi Arabia and most of the Gulf monarchies are nothing more than a sham for the preservation of wealth for a few families, who owe their continued existence to American and British favors. Both Iran, and the future Shiite ``democracy`` of Iraq have to discover secularism before they can start functioning as democracies.

Pakistan is almost a hopeless case. It is a country looking for a reason to exist - other than a welfare state for military and ex-military people who have never won a war.

Doom For The Dollar--And Everything Else

http://www.forbes.com/economy/2005/01/10/cx_da_0110doomdollar.html

NEW YORK - The stock market is up and economic growth has been steady, if unspectacular. But, an increasing number of economists are seeing serious storms build on the horizon. They point to ever-growing federal budget deficits, a record current-account deficit, increased consumer debt, a real estate market that looks like a bubble ready to burst, a surge in personal bankruptcies and the prospect of inflation.

Meanwhile, interest rates are on the rise, and if they increase much more, many of these problems could get dramatically worse. ..read on.! and Rejoice!

hamidm,

LOL, small victories. Fact is, if al-Sistani sneezes, the government (whichever one is elected) will fall. That`s hardly a supporting role, although it`s obvious many in the American (esp. conservative) media would like to paint a picture of a ``secular`` Iraq.

What the Iraqi government won`t be is a replay of Iran...what it will be is one heavily dominated by pro-cleric fundementalists. If anything, the mullah`s are learning their lessons...the trick is to maintain control, however delegate responsibility to others. So when things go wrong, the Mullah`s can sit back, throw their hands up in the air and say: ``we are but mullahs, it is these fools who have screwed everything up``. Win-win.

no turbans in the iraqi government ?

BAGHDAD, Iraq, Jan. 21 - With the Shiites on the brink of capturing power here for the first time, their political leaders say they have decided to put a secular face on the new Iraqi government they plan to form, relegating Islam to a supporting role.

The senior leaders of the United Iraqi Alliance, the coalition of mostly Shiite groups that is poised to capture the most votes in the election next Sunday, have agreed that the Iraqi whom they nominate to be the country`s next prime minister would be a lay person, not an Islamic cleric.

.............. that`s all we have been asking for! ....... if they want to upend themselves five times a day it is their business, as long as they don`t try to force other people to do the same ........
