[...hey! that`s what i have been saying here...indians don`t care about 150 million muslims as in this ``article`` not a single muslim was found to give his opinion about the azadi-divas...or maybe they arent`s allowed to as in the case of this woman who is a dalit...;)]
Only a Paki can pontificate others on equality blissfully unaware of (or pretending that it doesn`t exist) the horrible conditions under which minorities live in his own backyward. Or is it that he is aware but accepts it because Islam sanctions the treatment meted out to the kafirs? Whatever!
Here`s an example of how religion is not a bar in India. If you have it in you, you can make it. Can you say the same about Pakiland? Eat your heart out.
The Aviator: On the wings of a dream, he inspires a community
Excerpts:
``What began as a personal passion to create an ultra-light aircraft landed Muzakkir fame, a formal engineering education and a job at public sector aircraft giant Hindustan Aeronautics Limited.``
``The then HAL chairman, N R Mohanty, visited Muzakkir’s house and immediately took a liking to the boy’s work. ‘‘I realised that he has a natural flair for aviation, that he has a fairly high IQ and that poverty alone prevents him from pursuing higher education,’’ says Mohanty.``
``Muzakkir joined HAL on December 17, 2004 to work on the prestigious Advanced Light Helicopter programme. He also signed up for a mechanical engineering course at the HKBK college in Bangalore last year.``
``‘‘In our Urdu schools, teachers now give the examples of cricketers Mohammed Kaif, Irfan Pathan and then Muzakkir to encourage the children to do well,’’ says Sajjida Bhanu, Muzakkir’s aunt and the headmistress of a government Urdu school.``

Yes, indeed. India has made progress. It is the second fastest growing economy in Asia (after China) and is expected to continue that way for many years. What concerns me is: is this growth benefitting everyone?
I agree with u that every Indian has a right to be proud. I never suggested otherwise.

How about Bollywood actors and actresses who are Muslims?
Are they tokens too? Or Azharuddin, Syed Kirmani, Irfan Pathan, Salim Durrani, are
they tokens too?

[...they always bite at the token muslim jibe...truth usually gets that reaction...;)]
Is it why Pakis spew venom when Indians (and the world) blame Pakistan for being the hub of international terrorism?
[BTW...no one has explained why not a single indian muslim was found from 150 million indian muslims to offer his views on the happy day...;)]
Because only Pakis get headaches from people`s religions. Indians just don`t care.

[...but then i forgot the biggest token..apj abudul kalam...;) ]
At least, Indians are willing to try out ``token`` Muslims as Chief Ministers, justices of the High Courts and the Supreme Court, governors and President.
Why is it that Pakistan is not willing or able to try out a ``token`` Hindu or Christian in any position of authority?
Try it. Their patriotism and love of their native country would put you to shame.

Ref#20 Mr Khamkhawa, you went on a tangent. This poem is not a cut paste job from any Indian Website. It came straight from my memory. I may tell you that beauty of any language lies in the beauty of the people who speak it.
Moreover I will share a secret with you, I cannot read or write Urdu. Still I remember most of Ghalib, Iqbal, Some of Mir, Daag, Zauk, Sahir etc. I am not Muslim either.
My broken mispronounced Urdu, enhance the beauty of Urdu Zillion fold as compared sanitised Urdu of formally educated people in Urdu. This is what I feel. You appreciate the beauty of Urdu. But I love the beauty of Urdu

#36,
Pakistanis like you should understand the concept of intellect. Lack of this singular trait is what has made Pakistanis the pariahs of the world. Don`t take my word for it: read these laments from one of your fellow compatriots:
