started off well, but you lost me exactly at this point :

“We can contaminate their food, wreck their furniture and tear apart their cloths till eternity but we cannot destroy their power of creative expression.”

Re: # 10

You nailed it man, but dont just call the violent muslims ``corrupt`` they r frustrated. The case is, Muslims who once had among them Roomi Khuosru & Khayyam are reluctant to pursue intelectual & aesthetic ambitions and the growing violence among them is most likely the outcome of this departure from more creative reaction.

But look into another perspective - The creative expression - to me its a great loss that in this age of super computer and Jet engines we do not have any stroy teller like Shakeapear & Homer keeping to them an Odessy to tell, I personally miss the Baghdad of 9th century where the oral contributirs of ``Arabian Nights`` dreamed of flying carpets and beautiful princes & Genies & Demons.

the problem is general with all humanity, in the modern world the mania of grwth & development (both for individuals and economies) brought technology and business to the centre of every thing. Man turned Business-Mashine, not knowing what he is selling(or buying), what signifies is as far as he is making ``profit`` his woman gets expensive jwellery, his child a better schooling, he a paid vacatin and they all move to luxuriuos apartment, this is called PROGRESS.

Creative Rats & Intilectual Men are against this, and unless we put some hearring to their warnings, we are destined to reach a point where (unlikely to any time in history) the most gifted of our kind will procure the wort for the rest. - Pessimistic? Indeed it is

A wonderful piece of writing Sanaullah,

I cannot help commending the wonderful article. I just hope that the end of real-life clash (the so-called war on terorrrism) which this article is potraying will be different. Humans are the west, rats are the desperate people (muslims ? ) resorting to the so-called terorrrism), Sarum & Kheops are muslim intellectuals begging their fellows to focus on domains of knowledge, learning and faith, the old rat are the corrupt muslim leaders exploiting rats either for their vested interests or with their decision based on their short acumen. The mayor might be uncle sam and the Prof could be Chomsky (??)

Humans attacked one of the main severages. Initially, they only started only gass-pumping, but then also dug to get the rats hiding in caves.

What is different in real-life:

The first gas attack resulted in rats fighting for controlling one of the main city sewerages, and the humans too have seffered severe short-backs from this partially failed campaign. One of the biggest losses has been that of confidence. And the people are now calling to replace the mayor.

Some people say that the mayor had been used by the chemical factories into declaring this war. The mayor has also worked before with some chemical plants.

But now that humans are planning to withdraw from one of the main severages, which they initially started only gass-pumping, but then also dug to get the rats hiding in caves.

Now that humans are planning to pull out from the main sewerage they attacked earlier, both sides wonder what will be the strategy of the rival.

Exquisite stuff! In places, particularly in the first half, the plot bears remarkable resemblance to and looks clearly inspired by Bano`s `Raja Gidh`; even the notion of ultimate self-destruction in a deluded attempt to maintain hegemony over the nature mimcs that in the said book. But the theme is very well presented and the details are penned down with great care and diligence. Some of the sentences are really very porfound and, as Bhatti sahib correctly pointed out, force the reader to think. Creative expresion is beyond doubt the true source of emancipation as well as amelioration of the human kind.
Thoroughly enjoyed it. Well done and do submit more.

regards

On the other hand if it was about ``Men and Mice``, I would have paid better attention ... but certainly this doesn`t fall in that category ...

Sanaullah Khan,

Very good work. Anything that forces reader to think is a good peice. Please keep writting.

Please don`t feel bothered by those who don`t understand, as just like one needs an adult body to enjoy sex, in the same way one needs adult mind to enjoy such peice. It is a literary peice, and you do not have explain it to everyone.

Please keep up the good work.

Khalid
