The sole aim of this deal is to get foothold into Indian energy market. Without such deal, India has already got the latest technology from Russia. India wants access to Uranium to use the proccessed one to be used for Thorium based FBR program. That is the reasons, scientists are very eager to sign the deal. If India fails to make its FBR program very profitable, then India does not need this technology...

Thank you Madani ji. Thanks a lot.

(By the way the site is sawf.org and not sawf.com).

Best instrument to learn is at www.sawf.com by Mr. Parrikar. He clearly goes in classification as analysed and standardised by Pt Bhatkhande . That work can be classified as work of extreme intelluctual vigor as real analysis in Mathematics and the work is monumental in nature. The practioners like Faiyyazkhan talk with so much reverence and respect and take pride of knowing him. He describes the painstakingly this work done, he went to many parts of norther India and talked to so many to crystilise his monumental work.. Then he goes in each Thhat and then the individual Raags of each thhat. Best is Mr. Parikar gives characteristics of each rag and with good explanation, with traditional AAhoha and Avrohas. One can follow and just say those notes as stated and here how music is created and how it is difficult for artists to follow Choriography ( not sure about spelling)of Notes .
Personally I have learnt lot from that primer any any interested in hindustani music should study from Mr. Raja Parrikars work. Incidently Mr. Harimau suggested me to look at resource and will forever grateful to him for pointing this resource.
Incidendtly the ``monder Baje`` by pt joshi is great work, same with Tumary style in Bhairva- Jamunaka ke teer, Albeleke nar ( Gaar), are sung by Kirana giant late Abdul Karim Khan. It is courage on parts of Pt Joshi to walk on same path and improve and extend and give memories of that giant. Shudh Kalyan is real area of of Kirana singers and both Joshi and Late AKK do such great job in bringing beauty of that construction. Yes joshi is fantastically beautiful in Shidh Kalyan- Monder baje. It is credit to joshi he does not change traditional singing to make it sweet or popular. Malkaus Raag is very different and except soft sweet notes its presentation is done quite differently by many but Pt joshi puts its in spirit as that raag is supposed to be devised in praise Rudra( devil followers and protectors of shiv god).
I read pt josi is not doing well, let us hope he gets life as long as he wants and no less no more.
Good day.

Re: # 88 to 91

I envy you, Gentlemen, for your knowledge of classical music. Is there a way I can acquire some unerstanding of Hindustani music, without going through the rigour of doing riyaaz under a Guru or Ustad? Just so that I can enjoy the nuances a little bit.

Re:#90

Among current vocalists, try Sanjeev Abhyankar. He is from the Mewati Gharana of Pt. Jasraj adn has a great voice. Try his Raag Lalit - `Ab hi bairan bhor` composition from musicindiaonline.

Another vocalist you may like is Ustad Rashid Khan from the Rampur Sahaswan Gharana. He has many compositions on musicindiaonline as well.

Re:ahmedmadani#88, #89

Madaniji, I could not find the Raag Lalit-Bhatiyar piece `O Kartar` online. Its on one of Pt. Bhimsen Joshi`s CDs. If you ever get a chance to listen to it, beleive me, it is awesome. I have never heard any other artist combine Raag Lalit and Raag Bhatiyar, an extremely complex but exquisite combination.

Since you listen to musicindiaonline, please listen to Pt. Bhimsen Joshi`s Raag Miya ka Malhar and Raag Shuddh Kalyan ``Mandar Bajo Re``. Of course, dont miss out on his thumris ``Jadu Bhareli``, ``Piya to Maanat Nahin`` and ``Jamuna ke teer``.

If you like a heavy voice, try Ustad Amir Khan from musicindiaonline. His Raag Darbari and Raag Megh ``Barkha Ritu Ayee`` are divine. He was one of the best vocalists in India but passed away in a car accident at an young age.

Re: # 88

I was searching for your suggested piece, came across 75th anniversary music and there was Puriys Dhansree by Pt Joshi. He has a kirana style presentation In Puriya Dhansree of one hour , listened many times , following ethos of kirana singing , sorrowful melodious rendering. But this Puriya Dhansri presentation is so different bold , like punjabi ``thhat`` singing, it is joyful but melodius singing not as powerful or strong or fast tans of Bhimseni style( at 75 age energies diminish) but very powerful singing and very very enjoyable and with what a confidence he sings like old lion as goes through cycles of AAroh (rising pitch) and Avroh with full control like expert acrobat singing nonchalantly. (bols of both rendering are same). He is one few artist who can prsent different variations of same raag so masterfully. He has very wonderful singing in Bheempalasi with bols `` Brij me Dhoom machaye Kanhna`` and does heavenly treatment in two varients and both very powerful joyous singing. It is gods gift he can sing so easily in 3 octaves without much effort.
Good day.

Re: # 84

Thanks for information.I do not have access to all music. The most music herd by myself is ``musicindionline ( Hindustani Vocal), Above mentioned by Pundit joshi was not there.I like music of any sort provided is well prepared and well presented. Kirana, Gwalior and Jaypur I enjoy for their special qualities. Kirana is most liked by me for melody and pundit joshi is loved by his versality and forceful presentation , When you listen to his music sung at 75th age is like old lion singing master with maurity and mastery and still that aggressive youthful presentation as he came on stage on artist ( recordings of songs he sang at 1952 at Jullander as young kirana artist.
If you know site on web let me know where one can hear above.
Some time if you get time read only article written by me on two young female indian performers ( Kalapani Komkali and Shewta Zhaveri, Wonder above artist how they are maturing, both will great talent, efforts and female voices with width,Unfortunately only one singing of each on Musicindia on line , any new young kirana singers on way up, wonder.)
Good day.

Japanese American company wins $8 billion Chinese deal to supply 4 1000 MW nuclear plants.

Seems like nuclear plant biz will bring back a lot of $$ back from Asia.

1) Reliable and resonably priced electricity supply eliminates the numerous diesel generation sets run by Indian companies. Eliminates use of small (1-10 KV) gasoline/kerosene gen-sets run by families and retailers all over India.

2) Cheap Nuclear Electricity can displace gas fired power plants which free`s up more natural gas for use in (a) CNG powered public transport (b)setting up city gas supplies, which reduces LPG, kerosene requirements (both of which which comes from crude if you were not aware). Pakistan has been quite succesful at using its good natural gas supplies to offset increases in crude demand.

3) Resonably priced electric power will encourage electrification of more rail corridors thus reducing diesel consumption. Cheaper rail freight will reduce trucks on road further reducing diesel consumption.

Indian refineries are the only ones in the world that work with an objective of maximizing ``middle distillates`` (diesel, ATF, kerosene) and LPG. Reduction in relative consumption of these with respect to gasoline will also allow more efficient operation of refineries.

I am not saying all of this will necessarily happen, but this is how the energy economics works.

Madaniji, how are you? Did you ever listen to Pt. Bhimsen Joshi`s Raag Lalit-Bhatiyar? It is a beautiful Kirana Gharana composition - ``O Kartar!!``. Try it and tell me your reaction.

Re: # 76
I do not know now usa, enland, germany etc are industrial powers. What I have head from people who visit usa is now deindustralised. Last great industry of car making will be gone in next 10 years (like steel industry) according to me and by experts in 18 years. Unfortunately for american people just like all people bad things happen fast and good things happen to slowly to feel good. It is good our brotherly warm relationship with chinese and Arabs are going to come handy. These people have become lazy. In hardwork they want chinese to work hard and they just design packages and chinese are super hardworking and they do not allow strikes and bad stuff. About 150 million excess labour is at floodgates of china`s cities and they work for slave wages. Real pakistani will will never work at such low wages and harsh factory enviornment. American now how to market, value addition and raising prices and putting more pressure ion chinese workers to work hard and more for a dollar. Pakistani and Indian man and heart are not good workers like chinese, they too many brakes and complain, drink too much tea and gossip and unhappy. Their mind is not designed for hard work but complain. They need managers who will tell them I ask you to come to office and just want to hear work was accomplished no whinining why it was not done.
Before English and american use to work on soft work and no hardwork like computer code etc. Now even lazy Indians are doing that work, only work for them is spend and borrow and that white race is smart as they now china has to lend or they suffer. If they have no money no spending world suffers so world lends them. White people are smart, they have made china people as old style labours and Indians code coolies.
Any way army with spirit and fighting for higher goals which transcend artificial national border have first chance, Indian army never proacts but reacts so at disadvantage. Also their generals are not having freehand a handicap in short duration wars ( 6 months typically). Its good we are connected to China which is industrial power.
Thanks for your post , good points

No N-deal with Pakistan: US

WASHINGTON, Dec 18: The United States has no plans to offer a nuclear deal to Pakistan as the agreement President Bush signed on Monday was `unique to India’, says a senior US diplomat.

Under-secretary of State for Political Affairs Nicholas Burns, who played a key role in negotiating the deal, said that President Pervez Musharraf was not unhappy with the India deal, although some Pakistanis beneath him were.

“We`ve made clear all along that this is a unique deal to India only,” said Mr Burns when a reporter asked what it would take to offer Pakistan a similar deal. “This is an exemption ... we`re making an exception for India only, and an exemption to the law for India only,” he said.

“India is a unique state. I mean, given the weight that India has, given the impact that India has on global warming, on air pollution because of its dependence on fossil fuel, from an environmental standpoint, an energy standpoint, this makes sense,” Mr Burns said.

He said the US wanted to free India of its dependence on Middle Eastern oil by offering it nuclear technology.—Correspondent

``Anyway not you start praying usa, Pakistan can never accept such things, just for money becoming slave of America.``

madani saheb just look into your recent history. Pakistan ditched Taliban to curry favour with the US. The ``Dosti`` disappeared in thin air as soon as the US barked.

Same will happen for your ``Kashmir cause``. Pakistan under Gen Musharraf is already changing track wrt Kashmir. Indians are watching - silently.

Mr SoySauce... My computation is done in english , I do not now your type language, we have to be uniform in use as India is english name.
I have herd these chinese and korean oriental sauce stuff is not good like soyasauce as they put dead mices to get flavor. Wonder why usa allows that ?
Any way now india is not free country, now your people have to get nod from usa for any thing as they will put all technicians as engineers and stock chekers in groceries as a consultants and experts and now even IIT collge student has to work under tom who is pipe fitter or sweeper in usa plant as expert in India. Now if they send real indian engineer who is dark Indians will send him back saying hay we are paying in real dollars do not sent dark Indian, send tech or sweeper from yopur plant we will take on head. That is problem of india is color problem.
Ms. A roy has even opposed, then that is sufficent reason for me to see India is becoming slave. As she is most profound Scholar from your land. I agree with her when she said prfoundly in Karachi, Pakistan is defective dictetership and needs understanding while India is democracy with problems and need bloody revolutions. She is pretty fiesty woman who has undergone prison. We have copy cat some prof from Islamabad who is not that profound and he just criticise.
Anyway not you start praying usa, Pakistan can never accept such things, just for money becoming slave of America.
It is sad day as pakistan is already surrounded by rough people and now one of them lost freedom amd became Umbrella carrier of usa, welcome new Banana Republics of India.
