IB, Pakhtoon Khan must be an Afghan not a Pakistani national. Pathans on our side of the border dont think like him and are better off with being a Pakistani.... heck even Afghan refugees attempt to get Pakistani citizenship when they come over not the other way around. He must be high on good opium - the only famous produce from Afghanistan.

MMA uses his energies to cover up the signboards showing women faces and to protest against U.S Policies rather bringing investor dollars to the province. Thats what happened when pplz elect ASSes like Americans elected Dubya.

Re: # 27 - why is that when someone - non-pashtu speaking is sitting - between phatans - they don't have the courtesy of speaking in the national language - they continue speaking in pashtu - ?

As far as the progress of NWFP is concerned - these guys are like communists in West Bengal - because of MMA's policies ( whom the majority of phatans supported ) the industry has been shifting to Punjab and Sind . No investor is willing to invest in NWFP.

Pukhtoon khana, the elections in Pakistan have sent the message to all - politics based on ethnicity is dying in Pakistan when ANP had a hard time to secure its traditional seats in elections and MQM 'reverted' to use Mohajir slogans. Now that you have a democratically elected government of MMA by pathans since last several years, better be asking these questions to them - WHERE IS THE PROGRESS?

Compare the development in Karachi and Lahore to development in Peshwar..what is stopping you guys to do progress?? Nothing but the mentality of blaming everything on Federal government and Punjab I think. Why can't local governments be able to produce their own resources and does reforms rather just producing controversies like Hasba Bill?. What company would like to come to your industrial estates giving the security conditions of the province?

If you like Afghanistan feel free to go there to help the pathan community.. Not much border check anyway...the dreams of Pakistani regions becomes Afghanistan is like Puerto Ricans giving up U.S citizenship for being Cubans.

The pathans obviously sell the best chars everywhere in Pakistan....why does that bother you people? Maybe they stand for the legalization of chars. That means a large population of pathans - for drugs is what most of them do- is not Islamist. I know at least 20 pathan dealers in Karachi and i'm on friendly terms with most of them. They have the least to do with any kind of religious nationalism. They are as lost and helpless as any poor punjabi or fascist karachiite.

Ask not what pakistan has done to paktoons, ask what paktoons have done to pakistan.

Well well, they went to kashmir and fought for the paki army who are not bold enough. They were once again brought and dumped in kargill to be slaughtered. Hence now it is their turn to slaughter the pak army.

Then there is the talk of paktoons who even alexander could not conquer. In those days one had to occupy the land, the daisy cutters were not invented. Now the pakis are attacking the pushtoons from helicopter gunships and that should teach them a lesson or two. The times have changed, the pustoons will be no more, killed by the pakis or by the NATO, the choice is theirs.

ops I apologize - Clifton Baji,
These folks ( Phatans ) are involved in majority of terrorist acts in Karachi and all over Pakistan. These folks are the root cause of the whole problems - be it drug trafficking or gun crimes in Sind .
Anyhow you are correct - its not limited to one ethinicity - JI is a poisionious party.

yes i know what you are saying IB and i agree, but i dont agree with extrapolating the argument to hold a persons ethnicity as a surrogate for desirable or undesirable thought (not that you said that in so many words). After all there are loads of urdu speakers in the IJI, in karachi they are infact the majority of JI supporters.

clifton behan...not bhai :)

Re: # 15 clifton bhai,
you are right when you welcome Phatans in Karachi - but they should be warned that when you come forget Karachi is Peshawar . Leave there culture, traditions and religious beliefs in there dens .
These folks are involved in rioting and are used by madarsahs of Karachi and Jamat to show street power this should be stopped!

Re: # 16,
Aslam Bhai , one of my best mates from UK - belonged to Dina - I believe Dina is one of the last border towns of Punjab and theres a bridge which leads to Azad Kashmir.
About Pakhtuns - I believe this ethinic group will destroy themselves one day!

Urstruly,
when you say , you didn't take part in exploiting NWFP -
you might not have done it - but folks like you
'clean-shave-mullahs' has exploited the innocent minds of all Pakistanis - there economic exploitation and then theres a religious one !

Re: # 14 Zeemax,
Yaar
Kohat Tunnel - was started at the time of Bibi
Isb-Peh Motorway planning - I agree!
looking at what Nawaz Sharif did - I could only see 'ignorance' on his part - he invested / looted 3 province and invested on one (Punjab) . The Punjabigardi - has played a huge part - let there be no doubt about it.
Pls, go to Interior Balochistan / Sind / NWFP and try to do business as a Punjabi - you will know.

Paktoon Khan,
"Ask not what a country can do for you, but what you can do for the country". Now other than complain what exactly has a pathan done for the country other than running GTS in ground. Learning to ride a bicycle is not really an achievment rather a personal acomplishment.

There is a village near Rohtas fort jhelum called khan boyki, the story is when sher shah suri had the fort built he also settled the pathans there, when I lived in Dina all the boys around there were really mad about the pathan kuriaN of that village because of they beauty nearly everyone wanted to get married to them.
