Re: # 1
You can see how vehemently I have been writing against Musharraf-Shaukat Aziz policies on economic and political issues when ther were in power.

Mr. IK is worried about wrong things.
Yes it is big Loan if you have to return.
No body in sane mind thinks it will be returned.We just pay little interest and when you do not pay interest for few times you get more loan to pay that interest. As wise big Banker said if you are poor person , you have loan then you are problem. Now first time when bankers give loans to contries like india, pakistan, B.Desh, Afghans and dozens of dark colored africans and poor latin americans with view to make profit they are fools and they should punished for stupidity. These are huge loans so banks are introuble not india or pakistan.
Now commercial loans given by banks are business and they should take into account bankruptcy of Deshis. Now loans given by rich govts to poor dark people are out of guilt of seeing poor people while they have good life and they want to do something good for dark and brown (deshis)and feel guilt free when they new deshis and darki's are suffering. Actually they they do not expect to get back money.. So when they write off loans they feel good, so they are not giving any thing but buying satisfaction he done his job to help dark and browns.
Now loan is not stigma. Even usa the our patron and benefactor is having much more than anybody.
No point in whining about these things. Its ok to whine but if one gets real serious then it is wrong.

Dr Ikramul Haq sahib,
You say {It is not diplomacy but utter submission before those who are the main cause of present-day crisis in our tribal areas and Swat.}
I suggest [Main cause! Here you go, once again blame others for our own inadequacies. Under Zia-ul-Haq, Pakistan and Saudi Arabia came begging for arms from the US, since they wanted to defeat the soviets. KSA financed those stringer missiles from the US, and Pakistan wanted to pursue strategic depth in a neighboring country.]
You say {...pressing issues: foreign forces attacks in our tribal areas, rising wave of militancy,..}
I say [Foreign forces! Can Pakistan Army not stop this? Incompetance maybe? Most of them are from Egypt, and these al-masris have been trouble makers all along, since the 1950's. Just ask the Ethiopians who had a war of several decades war with the Eritareans.]
You say... {..The figure of foreign debt is a monstrous $48 billion after devaluation of our rupee in the last few months and that of domestic debt is over Rs.3.4 trillion now.}
I say [Those who support the military regime of Musharraf are still bragging that during his regime we had surplus of foreign exchange. Who is lying? the previous regime or the current one, or is it the bureaucrats?]
Corruption in Pakistan is more about bureaucrats then anyone else. IMO urban Pakistanis have created this mess, and they should confess to their wrongdoing.

Mr. Ikramul Haq,
When did you wake up and realize that we are going in the wrong direction. We have been going in the wrong direction for last 8 years. Citibank (London) issued a research report on Sep 2 that Pakistan will again be requiring IMF's help to avoid default. And it has the details how consumer fueled growth policy of last regime totally screwed us up. Presently, we are actually paying for the sins of previous regime. And it 8 months of democratic government cannot right what has been wronged in last 8 years.
Frankly speaking, were you really sleeping during the previous regime when not a single megawatt has been added to the national grid despite everyone knowing that we will face power shortage. And if you can't get hold of such reports, let me know and I will email it to you.
