i think the word is plain(s) not plane(s).
also a mention of art found in indian restaurants like panjab dhaba in sommervile-cambrigde should be made. there is a really cool paintings of heer-ranja that seems to repeat in various remakes..at least one in each restaurant.

This is interesting solely because there is no "Sikh period" in Indian painting.
Can I point out that 'aboriginal' is used incorrectly here?

The title is misleading. Sikhs can't paint. And only thing that a sikh can paint is a wall or a tree.

I was going to write about paining of that time and ethos and mastery of Technicition and artist and conflit. And rise of impressionist starting great painting related rise of camera and attraction and signifiance of Sureal paintings. But then I read some new things as below.
"“The Sikhs had no traditional mythology or imagery and, as their history shows,
“It might be contrary to the thoughts of many that Sikhs were great patrons of art in their days
Something wrong or prejudice or plain ignorance, I give up.
Ma he should following observation and feel better.
Once british officer asked pathan and Sikh to watch his tent when he goes out. Then 3 Havaldars and deshi officer comes looking for boss.Officer sends ist inside to check and he never comes out. So sends second inside , he comes back running out. Boss asks what happened , he says first has fainted inside and while saying he faints. He sents third inside he comes back and says boss we have big problem. Boss asks what is problem , he said I do not want to tell you I have almost heart attack. He said Pathan and Sikh are playing chess. That makes it boss get massive attack and dies. Thus all 4 die of heart attacks.
good morning ignorance is bliss.

"painting style started to turn from aboriginal stylized miniature style to the western realistic one .."
BS, what do you mean by "aboriginal stylized" ??
This is a deprecating expression that some how tries to put photo-realism as the standards of 'aesthetics' in painting....
I some times feel that PAki aesthetics is all superfluous and ideal talk......

The frescoes at Lahore, Amritsar and other parts of Majha are simmilar, could've been done or commissioned by the same contractor. At first, I didn't like the idea of these paintings in religious places; maturing with time, I realized, it is part of sikh CULTURE and HERITAGE, the frescoes depict the life as it was and tell a story of our past.
Though they lack the finesse and richness of Mughal works, the sikh arts have a Punjabi soul, which the former lack. Mughal art is grave-cold. Sikh art is alive, realistic and rustic.
It is unfortunate and tragic to find illiterate idiots on both sides of the border destroying it on one pretext or selfish gain or plain ignorance.
I've been to gurudwaras who have been fortunate enought to escape the ugly remodeling. Though falling apart, they tell a tale.
