assalamu alaikum. your proposal is to calculate the calendar for each country.but it is more fitting that islamic community of the world should have a common calendar. as far as i understand it is what Quran put forward .so it is time for experts in islamic theology as well as those in astronomy put their heads together and discuss the means of unification.then only can the islamic calendar be applied to everyday life of muslim community .pray Allah betow His mercy on us to achieve this end.wassalam.

Assalamu Alaykom Br.,

I have a question to you; Is it possible that Ramadan or any Lunar month be 29 days for two or more consecutive years?

Wassalam

Taha

I like your concept. It makes us look like a nation of incompetent idiots who don`t know when is their Christmass Holday. The trouble is that the orthodox are stifling the progress in Islam. They are going to end up alienating our younger generations to the point that Islam will become something their ancestors followed. We have to move with the times or we shall become irrelevent.

The world of Islam sorely need a Reformation movement. We cannot literally continue believing that shooting starts are fire-tipped arrows which the gatekeepers of the Heavens shoot at demons who attempt to eveasdrop on the proceedings at the Celestial Court. That is a poetic metaphor which was an eloquent description 14 hundred years ago but today even a fourth grader will not believe it.

By the way, one question regarding the atomic clock.

Suppose that by some relativistic quirk in our part of the universe time actually accelearated. Then all the clocks would tick faster and all the hearts would beat quicker, so who will know that we are experiencing an inaccuracy? :)

No, I think I`d still go with the atomic clock.

The fact that you need to transpose solar dates alongside the lunar ones tells you that we are already working to a defunct system.

YMMV obviously.
