i have HUGE HUUUUUUUGE problems with the woman giving him release and pleasure and then dying -- what a cop out not to deal with her later.

Fails to impress. Also why this effort to demean religion? Any real reasons besides this literary BS?

Some very eloquent expressions (``...reality cowered``, ``bonfire of brambles...``) in a sea of sophomorism.
The treatment of the characters and the political situation reduces this to a very one-dimensional propaganda. The characters esp. the woman and the man`s reveries become mouthpieces (not particularly well-disguised) for the author. The suicide at the end takes away from the story: ``calmly propped his barrel`` is very cliched.
Overall the scope is of an assignment for an undergrad fiction workshop where a feminist professor would give this a B+/A-.

I find this piece a little disturbing. I think the author is dehumanising Muslims.
Do Muslims not bleed and breath just like you and
do they not make love to their wives too ?
Yes we have problems with Islam and I for one support your exposure of the shortcomings of Islam. However to dehumanise them is a step closer to evil.
Life here in the UK is not about finding love and sharing our bodies with free souls. That`s the romantic view, the dream we see on television. Reality for most people here is very different. Reality here in the UK is broken homes and broken families both Muslim and non Muslim. I know that it`s not much different across the Atlantic for most of you in the US. Reality is about increasing levels of drug abuse and violence on the streets.
Muslim culture needs to change but we should not attack and make enemies of our own people.
Sheraz you said you wanted to be a writer though I may disagree with you content it is a well written piece of work. Keep it up !
