Right intentions wrong analysis

The Congress of Gandhi (Mahatma) died long time ago.

There is at the most 5% common between communists and the Congress and more than 80% in common among the Congress and the BJP.

Those among the communists (or Left in general) who want to prop up the Congress for short term gains will pay it in the long run. Any strengthening of the Congress will be a step towards establishing a two party system where there is nothing to choose.

This is just a fantasy of yours. The picture you paint is seductive, but impossible.

This coalition will come to power, but they will be able to little good. THe Congress of today has nothing to do with Gandhi or his vision. It is full of the Nehru clan and its psychophants. Apart from ManMohan Singh no one else has done anything notable. THe Nehruvian model has failed. I am not sure what the Communists are all about. But I must admit whatever I have read has been in terms of results Communist parties have been able to produce in some states. Communism seems to produce results at the grass roots level. For example, it can help provide basic education to the masses. And this would mean empowering a large section of the population. This can only be good. But beyond that it doesn`t seem to sustain itself.

THe current BJP led coalition has come into power simply because there are no other solutions. Nobody in the core BJP has done anything worthwile politically. THey can`t even explain their vision to anybody, because collectively they don`t share one. The only thing that has brought them to power is that they are perceived as honest. BUt then they really haven`t been tempted since they haven`t been in power for long. But having politicians with only ``perceived honesty`` as features is ridiculous. THeir own contradictions and the many different (often contradictory) idealogies that the numerous coalition parties bring, has led to complete chaos.

THe solution lies in fixing the system. Only 2 - 3 parties should be allowed. This will curb clan based politics. It will force parties to co-operate at various levels prior to the election . THey will be forced to come up with a cohesive yet autonomous system of governance with a real manifesto. Right now a number of little parties can collude to swing the ``majority`` anywhere. THe result is every little group creates enough inertia to prevent any sort of movement, in any direction. All these post election coalitions can only cause chaos. THey have to be stopped.

One man who stands apart from all this mess and produces results is Chandra Babu Naidu. He has a vision for Andhra Pradesh.

regards
