K.Anish,
Enjoyed the topic. Wasn`t Oscar Wilde the guy that said that the only thing worse than being talked about is not being talked about..?

A great topic. But less than 1% of the readers have given feedback. Why? Did they feel awkward responding? Has the author`s tone scared off the potential responder? If the author were a Narcissist, he may be tempted to come to that conclusion. But there may be other reasons.
Could the title of the article have been a tad more palatable?
Any way, that was just an aside, it isn`t really my place to be making editorial comments on your writing style or word usage. What I want to say is that love of self, per se, is not a bad thing; no more than is money the root of evil. It is love of self at the expense of others that is bad; just as is the obsession and lust for money the root of evil.
Best wishes

``…….I wonder , on which side of the line I am?``
I wonder too.... how many years of reading ``The hindu`` did it take you to develop that classical South Indian brand of pompous, ponderous prose? :)))

Good, topical, and timely article. It gives us an opportunity to reflect upon the importance of self-importance.
