Hey guys,
thanks for all the kind words.
MIY gave me the courage to write, and I fell in love with Unni Menon, as a bonus!
Sucheta, thanks for Everything! Please tell as many people as you can about Chowk.
Saminasha, no I hadn`t heard of Ann du Cille, but shall remedy that.
And yes to the request for poems... soon.

Writer,

First, thanks for the review of The Mountain is Young. I look forward to reading it.

Secondly, I appreciated the stucture of this review and the way you have blurred memoir and close readings of Suyin`s and your experiences in Nepal. Have you read Ann DuCille`s work? She does something similar in her simultaneous genre crossing and I find these experiments really interesting in their interdisciplinariness.

Looking forward to more!

Excellent piece, Revathy!

Should have written earlier, but couldn`t! :-(

Anyway, you have done justice to a a beautiful country on the brink of a civil war at the moment.

Nepal is wondrous and the Himalayas are just a small part of her enchantment. Cannot wiat to go back.

The Mountain is Young is a good book and indeed a very genuine attempt to portray the country as it is. A difficult task, when you are `just` a visitor.

Look forward to read more from you.

And yes, not to forget (God forbid), for introducing me to the fascinating world of Chowk.

Love

Sucheta

great writing!
This just adds to the places-to-visit list.
Previously, the closest I came to this tiny country was in `Seven Years in Tibet` and `When Men and Mountains Meet`.
What the hell, might as well do a whole SAARC tour!
