t,
It is great to see this piece finally on chowk. I remember another impressive story from you set in an hospital. What accounts for this felicity with the medical world?

Temporal , very heartfelt .I have a feeling swear words that we use in our daily life when used in literature, make it seem more real, closer to life. When Rahi Masoom Raza was asked about the abundance of swear words in his novel ``Aadha Gaon``, he candidly said, ``I can`t help it when my characters use abuses. I cant ask them not to use them, for the sake of my novel``
One more thing, I think this would have been even better in urdu, just a personal preference though.

``... I am talking about helping me, for whom you professed eternal love before falling for my best friend: me, your soul-mate, friend, yaar. Principles!
You are a sensitive and tender person. Why this sadistic streak? Why do you want me to lose self respect, vegetate and whither away? ...``
Vah Khan sahib, vah... These words struck a deep chord with me. Once, long ago, I was put to the same test and failed miserably. I hid my cowardice behind a shield of lofty sounding but basically hollow principles.

Good to see it here finally. I like the fact that no actual names are used...Kid, Pyari, etc. give some instant intimacy with the characters. When will Doosra Qad`m make it here?

t!
You rule!
While `they` excel in expletives you alone can back them them up with the force of your writing power!
Pehla Qadm ended a bit abruptly, nai?
Looking forward to a more extensive Doosra Qadm.

temporal:
I`m a sucker for any piece that starts off, ``Dear Bhenchaud``...
I look forward to reading more of your work (and critiques...I think).
Only when confronted with mortality does one tell the truth.
Best,
Shan

Hai Allah, How cute!
Loved it. By the way it wasnt offensive. I dont know about how pakistani women talk amongst themselves, but talk like this is standard fare for Punjabi men.
:)
For some reason, Temporal jee, I always assumed you were a guy, I was so wrong, and probably Now I am assuming again that you are a woman, when you are probably a guy. aAAAAAAAAH,
Oh well!
