Simply superb !!! Excellent. It seems that you have been destitute in the
world of love. Your poem truly echoes the bygone pain in bygone lanes of heart..
Keep it up afterall, it takes a broken heart to gauge broken feelings

Regards,

Gautam Gohil.

Short and sweet, but Kinza why do I get the feeling that had it been a bit longer it would or could have been a lot better? :)

Re: # 4 Yes, sometimes our hearts and minds can push us between two completely different and conflicting directions and then we are left with nothing but to take a decision where we have to obey one part and disobey the other.

``But somehow, somewhere they will have to meet...`` no, it`s not a prayer, it`s not even an expectation, it`s just a simple matter of survival. Let`s say you take a decision that favours your heart, eventually your mind will have to comply with it too or else your soul will never find peace...lemme give you a simple example..let’s say you’re trying to loose weight and your mind tells you not to go near junk food but your heart desires it…so you obey your mind and keep away from it for a while but after sometime you become disloyal to your brain and you go and grab a huge whopper with fries. Then wat? Well…you curse yourself, you feel bad but then in the end you forgive yourself and forget about it and learn to live with it…That’s the point where your mind and your heart have finally met… here in the poem I just used the sentence in the sense that for the sake of my sanity I`ll have to accept my fate that i`ve carved for myself based on certain decisions that I have taken in my life…and yes, fate can be changed and one does have the capability of changing it but then again the mind and the heart will have to meet at some point somewhere…the process can be emotionally shattering at times but it keeps going on inside of us whether we notice it or not…even a criminal at one point thinks killing is wrong but then eventually his heart starts obeying his mind (they both meet) and he becomes a criminal… hope I haven’t confused you a lot :)

Kinza, just to say that I somehow, at some level empathise with the great conflict that is between the heart and the mind. The heart tells me to follow my dreams, and not to conform, but the mind cries pragmatism. In the end the conflict takes it toll on the life itself! And then there these things called feelings, that make life an awful lot more complicated, but paradoxically worth living.

I wonder whether it is too late for some when the conflict between the heart and the mind is resolved? And if one`s own experiences ever help him or her, or are they only for the posterity?

`But somehow, somewhere they will have to meet...` intrigues me a little. Is it a hope, an expectation, or a prayer? Feel like discussing?

#1 temporal: yes it was a long gap but one of my articles did get publish on chowk a while ago ``Corporal Punishment`` but it was under my new last name cuz I got married in between and since I am still using my older profile so they published this poem under my former last name :) name-change can be really confusing ;)
