(2) black slavery was invented by muslims and till the early 19th century most of the slavers in the african sub-continent were in fact muslim. There are no surprises in Darfur, just part of an ancient practice.

(3) Violence and cultural genocide seem to be endemic with islam, only in its hinduized version in India, Malaysia and Indonesia has it been able to live in (relative) peace with others. Everywhere else it has destroyed with original culture, sometimes with extreme violence.

Of course, these statements are unfair and only part of the story. But this is the kind of garbage the kkkhurram is peddling about indic traditions. I wouldn`t waste time ``discussing`` this type of nonsense.

Also, there have historically been MANY Indian social reformers who have fought against these social evils. My own father has helped countless people based solely on their financial condition, regardless of their caste and creed.

The good news is that things in India are changing rapidly, due to the introduction of television. Thanks for taking my comments seriously. Hindu traditions deserve *serious* criticism AND *appreciation*. But serious criticism does not mean mouthing superficial put-downs and repeating racist taunts that historically have been motivated by the need to destroy indic civilization (our frend ``kkkhurram`` is like a parody of the worst of this type of filth).

But criticism requires education and study and effort. For most of my generation (I am in my 40`s) effort was focussed on making a living and not on understanding our historical and cultural background. Much of our learning internalized deeply hateful assumptions about indian culture that were a product of colonial subjugation. My guess is you belong to this group as well.

I take as my personal model al-beruni`s kitab-e-hind. Al-beruni was a muslim scholar who spend 10+ years studying indic traditions (primarily vedic traditions) at an ancient temple near Lahore. His book attempts a comparison of vedic concepts with islamic (and also concepts from the greek tradition). This is the kind of effort needed to make progress not easy regurgitation from bigots of one kind or the other. Of course, at the same time we need to reject the mindless mob violence that we say in Gujarat, independent of whether the originators are hindu or muslim or sikh.
