Muslims and The West After 11th September
Boss, if you find Margolis to be balanced then my respect for you drops down a few notches.. :-). You may say that he represents a point of view ill-represented in western media but balanced he very definitely is not.
If you would like to read a collection of all of his old stuff its at: http://www.bigeye.com/fcorrlst.htm

``Harkat-ul-Mujahideen, for one, normally operates in Kashmir, and links between Afghanistan and armed groups in Kashmir date back to the early 1980s, before the Taleban emerged.
Prominent Kashmiri militants such as Mohammad Abdullah Bangroo, alias Khalid-ul-Islam, fought alongside the Afghan mujahideen against the Soviet occupation.
Likewise, an Afghan militant in the Hizbul Mujahideen group, Akber Bhai, became a household name in north Kashmir in 1992.
Afghan militants who fight in Kashmir are only one foreign contingent among many but for those involved - be they from Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Turkey or Chechnya - Kashmir and the Afghan cause are strongly linked as common Islamic causes.
If casualty figures are any indication, foreigners comprise about 30% of the militants operating in Kashmir, most of them Pakistanis or from Pakistan-ruled Kashmir. They are followed by the Afghans.
It has to be said that before the 11 September attacks on America, there was no clear indication of links between Kashmiri militants and the Taleban or Osama Bin Laden`s al-Qaeda militant group.
But since the US strikes in Afghanistan, Bin Laden has become a hero to ordinary Muslims in Kashmir. There he is seen as a symbol of Islamic resistance to a United States which is involved in conflicts between Muslims and non-Muslims such as the Middle East.``

Let me state my position on Kashmir:
1)There is great disaffection for India in Kashmir.
2)India in its fear of Kashmiri speratism has rigged elections/ supported unpopular leaders.
3)The original uprising by JKLF (`89) was secular and had no (visible atleast) Pakistani support.
4)Since 92-93 the violence in Kashmir has been remote controlled from GHQ Rawalpindi (Yes there is still a large Kashmiri element in the millitants, but they do not run the show)
5)The Pakistani Army has encouraged Islamic radicalism to obtain recruits for Afghanistan and Kashmir. It has set up a system of ``privatized`` support through the Islamic parties to support its violent campaigns.
6)The Pakistani ``volunteers`` in Afghanistan and Kasmir are part of the same system of training camps, are motivated by the same ideals and are easlily moved betwen the two fronts.
Hence, I conclude that killing of Pakistani ``volunteers`` in Afganistan is beneficial to India.
It is amazing how otherwise intelligent Pakistani`s can be blind to these facts.

Let me add to my earlier statement before you potray me as blood hungry Indian lusting for Paki blood. I do not support the killing of unarmed or non-combatant Pakistanis in Afghanistan nor do I support the killing of POW`s. All Pakistani`s in Afganistan should lay down arms and return to Pakistan and let the Afgans solve their own problems.
btw, on another note a non-Pastun Pakistani can be obviously identified as one but what about a Pashtun Pakistani?
