Builders’ Mafia

Re: supposed bleeding hearts/brains liberals

You know it is really funny among us Pakistanis... .when it comes to Islam some of the self procliamed bleeding heart liberals demonstrate the utmost fanticism (on the othre side of the fence) ...I am sure if Shahbaz had said something similar in context about any other religion, he would have been labelled Islamic fanatic.

If everyone does agree that no religion is perfect, whay is it that only heat against Islam is justified.

Inferiority complex at work maybe...

Or shall we all start disparaging everyting we dont agree with ..in other religions.. but wont we be fanatics then... round and round.

Couldn`t agree more!(with the article as well as the response below). This is so true! people keep harping about how good pakistan is.

We really are a delusional nation!

BTW, how about something truly scathing on harrassment, both sexual and currently...in the name of religion?

Looking forward to your next assault!

Re: Shan

Apparently you have never been to SOHO. Compare SOHO and Karachi...???? Well, if you are trying to make SOHO look really good, i guess.

But then again the only place I yearn to visit in Pakistan IS Karachi.....despite....all that.

A Heavy Price to Pay
Posted by Born to Be Oct 5, 1998 12:53 pm
Great Article! I hope this night mare doesnt come true!

After having read quite a few replies, I got the impression that poeple equate Pakistani culture with Islam.. Taleban with Islam. I am proud to be a muslim female, of the rights I have and certainly wont give up in the face of Paki fanaticism or any other fanaticism.

For a change poeple might want to make a little effort to know who they are, rather than taking for granted that they are muslim because thier parents named them usman or salman!

Ignorance isnt really bliss!

I respect Hijabi`s decision to be Hijabi...Miss Zaidi your below the belt attacks teem of attempts at fake farangeeism.

Taleban are NOT following Islam. Our grandparents are NOT following islam, but quite often the decaying culture brought over from Indo Pak.

And yes My husband WILL pay mehar, the exact amount( even if he is a Gora)!

Wake up Deluded Muslims

I do agree with most of what the author says namely the vulnerability of muslims and the further international bullying it courts!

May be we are waiting for a muslim holocaust!

Didnt the `original` one also start with categorizing all jews as bigots (now we are a fundamentalist gang), identification of semitic features ( in our case it is easier than that, the beard or Hijab suffices). Interesting point to note that it was really the followers of currently one of the most `flexible`/`democratic` religions that actually believe in `turining the other cheek` under whose `excuse` innocent people were sentenced to the horrors of gas chambers, etc. Here we have the most liberal country of the world , ITs ROyal Highness the US of A! So let us not really get carried away by the fact that the west needs to be educated, the west knows what it is doing, just uses different cloaks!

It’s Time to Bomb New York

Ashish dear,

One question, DO you have ANY evidence of the involvement of ``Islamic terrorists`` in bombings other than CIA`s ``claims``?

I understand and share the author`s view of US `facism`, arrogance, selfishness and ah Yes! the Borg syndrome americans seem to be suffering from (thanks, Kafir!)

Re: Kafir

I couldn`t have put it more clearly!

Wag the Dog

Re: Ashish & Rishi

Why does Islamic brotherhood bother poeple? Is it because of a secret yearning that thay dont have anyone to stnad up for THEM? Jealousy perhaps?

(to put it very simply).

It is the fear of people who feel threatened by Islam that `perverts`/distorts their view.

What about the creation of Israel for the Jews?

How come I never hear anythign from Indians about that?

What about standing up/protecting the rights of jews all over?(moving black jews to Israel & investments in their future) How come I never hear anything about jewsih brotherhood?(I have NOTHING against it!you gotta stick together man!) Or is it just Islam that gives you the nightmares?

Totally agree,

Even if the lewisnky coverup tactic would be inapplicable to US bombings, it still does not justify the atttitude of the US. Where was the respected UN and its members, probably blinded by Iraq`s arsenal?

Serbia and ISRAEL indeed! Good point!

Keep writing!/stimulating our brain cells!

Re: Saad sahfqat

er.. did you miss the point? the focus i believe was on the `bombing` act not the blowjob or was it the only thing that jumped up at you?

Women and Police

Saima S`s top ten list was soooo true. These really are the kind of things bakree type pakistani girls/women say all the freaking time! Makes me sick!

Waheed Malik, I think whipped his up from god knows where? Doesnt sound familiar at ALL and I do know quite a few Pakistani feminists. Waht is the connection between dating and feminism? I have seen a lot more bakri types `secretly` dating and of course serving dinner/tea dutifully after they return from the `adventure`.

I think BG`s list was kind of more into the workings of the average middle class paki male who has an average education (from Pakistan). But the last part about the hymen being in tact, that is very close to the truth. Hit the nail right!

The Wrong Side of the Border
Posted by Born to Be Aug 3, 1998 01:59 pm
I think what Amar Dev is trying to say is there is an identical dialogue that is being spoken on either sides of the border-Indians and Pakistanis, against the other party. The only difference might be that one is more justified than the other.

FIguring that out is not really an excercise for both ``THEY``s have singled themsleves out for the honor! Or have ``they``? Maybe I should just keep shut because anything more and ``they`` will accuse me of starting this crap all over again!

Chowkwalas Interview Pak. Law Minister

Re: Minister`s replies

I was talking about a `normal life ` not utopianism. There is a difference, believe it or not! Pretty pathetic hegding tactic to cover up your failure.

. What else could we expect from our politicans & govt. servants?

Waste of space that may have been put to better use

A Certain Education
Posted by Born to Be Aug 2, 1998 10:47 am
The education systen in Pakistan ie the matric system & inter education really is pathetic. the course outdated. What some of my friends studied in o` levels was not even being taugth at an intermediate level.(no wonder they sailed through after entering the `higher` education system in Pakistan) No wonder all the `o level poeple` look down over the `matric` poele. The `matric` poeple generally tend to have very constrained, `close-minded` views about things in general. Are mostly `yes` people, do not tend to question-take things as they are handed down to them.

i think a revamping of the education system is really needed otherwise the KGS type and the `matric` type distinction will be never be brigded rather deepened and through no fault of the students in either system (they just cant relate to each other) but the system of education of the damn govt of Pakistan! It is essential to promote real thinking and knowledge!

My reply is at a very basic student- to student level-my own/friends` experiences/observations. I speak of masses in general not EVERyONE involved in a system.

For My Love
Posted by Born to Be Jul 28, 1998 02:14 pm
Very poignantly written piece.

I guess what really disgusts me is people TRYIng pathetically to be LIKE the so called elite. It truly is an insult to themsleves. I respect people more for being their own `lower` class selves (or whatever/whoever they are) without giving two hoots for anyone rather than some one servilely trying to duplicate others. The same goes for elites trying to be like each other, i find it truly repelling. Both are inferiority complexes deeply rooted in our psyche since the `angraiz` ka zamana. Cant we both be different and still be able to respect ourselves as well as each other?

Can’t we too break the wall?

Re: chicago-se

I agree with you. I found poeple suffering from delusions that riots in India are `imagined`. trying to distrot fact does not make things go away. Let us not behave like bunnies-close our eyes and the big bad wolf is not there any more!

So, Are You Pakistan?
Posted by Born to Be Jul 28, 1998 08:17 am
Re: Najam

About helping Pakistan through putting foreign exchange at home. Guess what? I did that. It got forzen, then unfrozen ,then frozen again and the govt proposed a rate of conversion which was a ripoff. Now I am just waiting for the accoutns to be unfrozen and away from Pakistan. Infact people from pakistan are now opening accouts abroad not because they have black money. but because they dont trust the govt not to cheat them again.

The govts of Pakistan sad to say have managed to kill off a lot of patriotic sentiments that a lot of people had about thier homeland.

Next time we will think twice before putting something in the kashkols of these wretched beggars. So much for HELP pakistan! Stop the govt from raping it, first!
