Balkan Tragedy: A Re-enactment of the 1971 Genocide in Bangladesh
If Yahya had the right kind of mind he would have used Bengali Generals in East Pakistan, Baluch Regiments in Baluchistan and Sindhis in Shindh.
In your posting #118 you have accepted Jamal Hasan`s efforts as humanitarian at the same time wanted to have him a lawyer?
Ras Siddique`s will have no chance to rule Pakistan, OMAR1974`s have better chance with the kind of mind set he are reflecting through his postings!!!

OMAR1974 Posting #307: Nationwide protest by Mujib would not have worked as it is not working for Sindh or Baluchistan today. Pakistani Military Dictators along with the Junta never believed democracy and decided for brutal option starting with disarming and killing their Bengali compatriots in the Army in East Pakistan. By that time Z. A. Bhutto already declared himself to be the Prime Minister of West Pakistan and Brig. Z. A. Khan`s already posted in East Pakistan. If Yahya had the right kind of mind he would have used Bengali Generals in East Pakistan, Baluch Regiments in Baluchistan and Sindhis in Shindh.

Balkan Tragedy: A Re-enactment of the 1971 Genocide in Bangladesh
Brig. Z. A. Khan wrote: ``After the 4 East Bengal Regiment rear part was DISARMED, all the East Pakistanis were collected in the 4 East Bengal Regiment barracks, there was no barbed wire etc to prevent the Bengalis from breaking out of the barracks, apparently they made an attempt, Bengali soldiers WHO WERE PRISONERS, officers and servents of West Pakistani officers WERE TAKEN AND SHOT. The Bengali eliment of the 3 Commando Battalion who had been LOCKED UP in the quarter guard, WERE ALSO TAKEN AND SHOT, some of them had been with the SSG from the time of its creation.``
``Most of the DOCTORS of the Commilla CMH were Bengalis and did not survive, the officer commanding the CMH was from West Pakistan, he became a mental case because of the MASSACRE of his officers.``
As a law student OMAR1974 should know Geneva Convention in respect to Prisoners of War ans especially DOCTORS and should find answer to his question - SHOULD PAKISTANI OFFICERS FACE WAR CRIME TRIALS FOR the events in 1971 in Former East Pakistan? Perhaps we now need a vote on Geneva Convention?
As I have said earlier - One must understand the power of Internet, which may become tool for trying war criminals in the next millennium. These 188 postings in Chowk may be the begenning of it and self-styled Attorney OMAR1974 already made Brig. Z. A. Khan the first defendent!!!

I have all the reasons to believe Muneezae Alam Khan is also a victim and continue to have sympathy for her. She was a two year old innocent and beautiful little angel in 1971. Her father certainly could not recognize the divinity in her when he participated in the worst atrocities in the history of mankind. Children are the worse victim of parent`s crime. Muneezae`s sentiment, emotion and arguments on the issue reflect that she is extremely traumatized. Maybe her mother is equally traumatized and I have no foubt about her intent to return looted milk as pious and God fearing Muslim.
When Pakistan was created it is the Muslims of Bengal voted fo it, Muslims of Punjab did not, Muslims of Sindh did not, Muslims of Baluchistan did not, Muslims of NWFP did not. During 1965 war it is the blood of Bengali boys of East Bengal Regiment of Pakistan Army saved Lahore from falling in to Indian occupation.
Please do not spawn hate against people who gave you a motherland Pakistan in 1947 and saved you from humiliation of surrendering to India in 1965. Perhaps rewards we have been given in 1971 for doing those good turns even out maneuvered Mir Zafar Ali Khan (Mir Z A Khan) did to his mentor Nawab Sirajudoulla in 1757.
It is not going to get easier for Muneezae as time passes and she needs to understand that she still has a better chance to trust Bengalis to uphold the dignity and honour of her country with this issue of war crime in 1971.

OMAR1974 need to understand difference between tragic history of real people of Bangladesh and characters in Shakespearean tragedy. Mujib was elected leader of a political party of Pakistan and have had absolute majority in the national assembly to become Prime Minister of the country. A person already elected to be Prime Minister by the people need not to be greedy for power. Yahya was a paid solder to guard the sovrinighty of the country and Bhutto was suppose to be leader of the opposition. When solders like Yahya becomes greedy, finds sycophant like Bhutto and subordinate like Brig. Z. A. Khan results are the tragic consequence of Pakistani genocide in Bangladesh.

OMAR1974 needs to be careful in protecting Brig. Khan because in the process he is alienating him from his colleagues working with him during 1971 occupation of Bangladesh. Brig. Khan may end up having neither any Pakistani nor any Bangladeshi to uphold his antecedents. One must understand the power of Internet which may become tool for trying war criminals in the next millennium.
