The MF Husain Controversy: Identity, Intent and the Rise of Militant Fascism

Re: # 178

Mullah is very repressive in India unlike in Pakistan where they are very open minded. This allows artists to non-chalantly exercise their right to freedom of expression under blasphemy laws.

This is getting more and more hilarious. The Rashid-Ahmed comedy show continues.

No arguments to offer, eh? Good show.

Re: # 165

Tahmed Sahib, how is it that you think India has a worse mullah culture than Pakistan?

Is Taliban and Jehadi culture Indian or Pakistani?

Re: # 164

Okay, I will take you up on your offer of a civil exchange.

What is your response to finding me one MF Srinivasan who has gotten away scott free with nude depictions of gods?

Re: # 159

Tahmed Sahib, what happened? Slinking away with tail between your legs?

When you can not come up with any cogent arguments all I have seen you do is resort to name calling.

Re: # 157

No sir, I did not. Point to one MF Srinivasan sir. Can you name one MF Srinivasan?

Re: # 152

Hmm, let's see. Your point was that MF Hussain's identity in India was so subjugated by Hindus that he could only paint Hindu gods nude.

If only he had been in Pakistan, which is heaven on earth for Muslims, that his natural tendencies would have come to fore and he would have painted the prophet nude.

Re: # 153

Rashid Sahib, I am asking for names of contemporary Hindu artists. Can you please produce one?

Re: # 145

Rashid Sahib, are you even reading what you have written?

MF Hussain was so subjugated by Hindus in India that to please his masters he decided to present them with nude depictions of their gods. What crock!

Rashid and Tahmed Sahib, while I acknowledge that Hindus should be secure enough to not be offended by anybody painting their gods nude and I would gladly support MF Hussain's freedom of expression I am severely offended by Pakistanis trying to paint this as a communal issue.

If you could point to one MF Srinivasan (as Mr Tahmed contends we will surely find) who has gotten away scot free with nude depictions of various gods I will eat my hat.

I think Pakistanis and Muslims in India do not have a leg to stand on when spouting sermons on freedom of expression. Why is Satanic Verses banned in India and Pakistan? Why is there a fatwah on Salman Rushdie?

I find the duplicity shown by the both of you to be extremely hilarious. Please tell me what would happen to any minority in Pakistan who would dare to do anything slightly resembling what MF Hussain has been up to in India.

This is rich. Third world countries create wealth and the western world just generates interest.

Speak of grandiose delusions.

Re: # 834

So tell me which is more absurd...drinking a cup of tea daily in the morning or a cup of urine?

Goldfinger ji, it doesn't seem like a logical absurdity for you to partake of a cup of golden urine every morning. I bet you dip your finger in that cup every morning and now it makes sense to me why your mom would have named you that way.

1. ...i am afraid i have to agree with hamidm mian, on this.....every time i go to south india, i feel like brad pitt....

2. .....as one starts from sri lanka and moves north-west wards, towards afghanistan, the people's looks start getting better.

3. .....as one starts from sri lanka and moves north-west wards, towards afghanistan, their intellect starts going down.....

4. .....i like to refer to this as my indra nooyi vs pamela anderson theory....

Stepping out of the house in Punjab and circling the blocks a few times doesn't mean you have travelled south Romair mian.

I am surprised people in Lahore didn't lock you up when you started screaming to them that you were Brad Pitt and Pamela Anderson was Punjabi.

Re: # 686

Hamid mian,

she would burst into tears and ask 'oh god, why me!" ....... it was cruel and to compensate her for this handicap i am going to leave her three fourths of my estate

And what did that amount to? Two dollars and some lint from your belly button? No wonder she's been breaking into tears.
