Dil Se

Another piece reeking of nostalgia.

How can the author claim that Pakistanis do not have anything tot do with Iranis and Afganis.

My assessment is that present day pakistan would have been three more states in the Indian Union but for the pioneering rapacity and motivation ( read fanaticism) of the Afghans. The Afghans themselves were coerced into this about 3-4 four centuries before they descended to the Indian plains and decided to dish out punishment on their own.

Many present day Punjabis and Kashmiris probably owe their attitude and their physiognomy in no small measure to those pioneering bandits.I dare say the Afghans probably did not discriminate between the few muslims and the many Hindus they met. Over a period of time they had laid down the critical mass that the future day Quaid-E-Azam could lay claim to.

As far as the notions of these modern day Pakistanis go ,they have fully vindicated the ounces or litres of Afghan blood that they might have.

If this sounds like an ODe to Afghan adventurism remember Pakistan would not exist but for them.

To the south the Sindhi had to accommodate the Arab, the Baloch and the AFghan.

TiECon 2001

For a moment I was almost led into believing that Pakistan is driving the TiE.

Talk about promoting Bangalore, in case Ras did not know this the days of promoting Bangalore was done about 5-8 years back. May be the delegation from Pak was trying to promote Pak sites.

Lastly the TiE was founded essentially by entreprenueurs of Indian origin and it behoves one to commend their nature in welcoming entreprenueurs from other SAsian countries.

I have a couple of links here from www.tie.org which explain the rationale behind TiE and how and when it was founded.

For the philosophical base read the FAQ.

For the when and the how

read page http://www.tie.org/hist.html

Thanks

Brahmin and Mullah

To Schmuck / Klutz

No religion has to descend to the levels of the Cola empire to quote numbers and say they are th best. That is akin to a Tobacco company claiming superiority based upon numbers.

If somebody has to stoop to numbers to justify their (sic) greatness , then you have lost my attention. Why should somebody care whether there is one god or there is a multitude of them. Where is the evidence. Live for here for now , there is no need to instill fear into people about sins, the hereafter etc. and then leave them with your ``singular choice``. ( eg. AmReeka wight be presented with a liberal version , SE ASia might see the traditional desert version that is reserved for babarians I suppose).

As far as numbers go , I am cynical as are many others, a considerable portion could be through reproduction and many might be led the `` * * * * * *`` way by many inducements.

So prove that the only God is the only god that exists etc. and then beat your chests with your pride.

Senor Aschettino

Yo tengo algunas preguntas. Quisiera hacer una pregunta acerca de Pakistan ye India.Me siempre interesa si tu conocimiento de Paksitan be Pakistano adquirido.

You are entitled to your beliefs. but if you start preaching virtues better be right about what you say. Now can you pass my little test.

Talking to Vajpayee

To ALI1 #210

Firstly I have to state this that Brahmins of the South are descendants of settlers from the North for the most part, many took local wives and in some areas to boost numbers even had locals converted to the Brahmin caste.

Secondly Brahmins traditionally have been fair and fairer than the so-called sons-of-the-soil.

Third , Muslims have not ruled many parts of S.India much less Afghan/Turkic soldiers.

Fourth , there are parts of S.India, where people belonging to backward Hindu castes ( non-Brahmins) look very Iranian as compared to the bulk of the Muslim population that lives there who are for the most part darker.

What I Want Pakistan’s CEO To Do

#4 , What is the need to reply in swahili or some other language? I understand that some Indians and Pakistanis have made eastern Africa home , but Wwahili is about as unitelligible to Indians as Pak intransigence.
