I do not want to getin the middle of a brother-sister spat here , but do Persians have a chip on their shoulder even after all these years .
On a positive side if what you mentioned about Manouch is true I guess Pakistanis have a lot to be proud of their non-Arab and non-Persian origins cos I have heard of Jordanians and Lebanese etc who flunk exams.

Dhirubhai Ambani: The Heathcliffe of Indian business
Ambani started a smear campaign against Nusli Wadia of Bombay Dyeing.
Add to the top of the list - my suspicion regarding creative accounting practices that here in the AMerica of 2002 would have sent CEOs running for their lives.

Ambani seemed to embody all that was wrong with the traditional Indian business houses - license raj , connections and unabashed use of political connections to malign competitors.Ambani started a smear campaign against Nusli Wadia of Bombay Dyeing.

WHatever afflicts you - hope it is not mad mouth disease.
By the way - let us assume that Brahmins of the South sided with Brits and aided the takeover of the country, where does that leave the SIkhs and the Panjabi Musulman not to forget Gorkhas and Pathans.
Did they not loyally serve their British masters in establishing the rule of the Queen from GB.
And what did the Panjabis get for their loyalty - their land was torn apart by the most violent civilian unrest seen in the 20th century.
BY the way Srikanth was a Brahmin - he was probably among the first bastmen from India to play an openly aggressive game.
Where would you assign the royalty of India - the Nawabs and Maharajas who seemed happy with the morsels the British masters threw for them.

I guess depending upon whom you talk to - Konkani gets defined at different levels. If you refer to the Konkan coast - it extends south of Bombay to Mangalore. However some would like to refer to souther Maharashtra coast and Goa only as Konkan. Having said this defining an area as Konkan does not mean Konkani is the native language there.
Even in SIndhudurg , Raigarh non-Konkani languages are spoken.
About Mangalore, it is primarily Tulu that is spoken there - though there is a substantial Konkani minority.
Aishwarya Rai is from the Bunt community - same as Shettys and they speak Tulu not Konkani as their native language.

MT #116 you ask ``Would any chowkie from Pakistan care to explain caste in Pakistan ?``
There are two castes in Pakistan. These are (a) the MT caste and (b) the non-MT (aka the ``FULL``) caste.
Pardon me . It would be a mistake if I did not point out that Pak zar zamin was created precisely because Musalmans could not stand the castes and religion of Hindus. Does the rancour also extend to Indian ethnic groups that are destitute such as Gujar, Meghwal etc.
Is it possible to define half and full castes within the framework of Islam .
Please let me know for each of the following pairs of castes which is considered higher.
Arains vs Jatts
Jatts vs. Rajpoots
Pastun vs. Baloch
Barlas vs. Chughtai
Mirza vs. Mir
Panhwar vs. Jatoi
Afghan vs. settled Pathan
Marwat vs. Khattar
Bhutto vs. Butt
Khar vs. Wyne
Thanks

Chiniotis of Panjab have similar origins - that is they are descended from Panjabi Hindu castes such as Wadhawan etc. and that they are by far the biggest entrepreneurs of Pakistan and in this case it seems they have even settled down in Bangladesh.

By the way it seems like castes / tribes such as Gujjar / Meghwal with Indian origin are treated as lower castes by tribes/castes of non-Indian origin such as Baloch / Pashtun.
In a way this makes it easier for Indians to understand why the creation of Pakistan was important to Indians - imagine being a Hindu in these parts , when Muslim Pakistanis are treated in this manner.

The people who liberally disseminated their genes amongst your ancestors also happen to fire small arms into the air to celebrate. Now that must be something that is not mentioned in your Holy book because it must have been the Brits who provided those blundering busses to them Afganies.

I know that the vast majority of Indians give a wide berth to your land of pure. Remember the grandparents of many of our citizens were forced out and for the ones who mistakenly venture into a mirage , our land is much the better without having them around.
You must be crazy to think that anybody other than Achmed or Abduli would venture into yoru homeland. The destitutes of Afganistan sure find heaven there.

Manmohan was probably a product of circumstances , those reforms that he made were pushed through by the IMF and WB to whom India went to with a begging bowl.He had good credentials to go with the role he was playing no doubt.
On the other hand if you really want to know about free market protagonists and original thinkers look no further than the founder of the Swantantra party - Rajagopalachari , he was way ahead of his times, if he was listened to you probably would not have left India in 1981.
The small state of Travencore had a Dewan by the name CP , this gent wanted to make Travancore a free trade port much along the lines of what Singapore is today , except he thought of this 60 years back, the socialists could not take it.

Abdul says - History says your country was founded as a refuge for Muslims , so why is it that you do not want to take them in. You took them in when you were promised greenbacks , so are you suggesting that more greenbacks might help the Muslims cause.
Abdul says- Remember you have an identity that is solely tied to your religion, the moment you lose that you have disowned your founding father/s.

Khars are a traditional feudal family from South West Punjab - I guess the Muzaffargarh distt.
I have read somewhere that they were among the first South Asians to convert to Islam.
GM Khar was a former CM of Pak Panjab province. He is known for his marriages I guess it runs into the dozens.
One of his divorced wives Tehmina Durrani wrote a book.
There was also somrthing relating to the escapades of Bilal Khar who happens to be GM Khar`s son.
Not sure if Malik Shahnawaz Khar is related to them.

Have you considered highlighting the fact that one of the chowkies goes by a name which makes an unflattering reference to hirsuteness. ( Translates to a abuse in your native Tamil)
