The list of famous Pakistanis with Hindu ancestors would not be complete without a mention of Saadat hasan Manto, he is descended from the Manto group of Kashmiri Pandits which does not exist as a Hindu group anymore.
ZA Bhutto is descended from Rajput wanderers who left Jaisalmer in the 1700s.
Unionist party leader and former premier of Panjab , Khizr Hayat Tiwana was conscious of his Hindu ancestors, he even maintained links with the Sikh part of the Tiwana qaum.

WIsh to rebut some of the comments you have made. Shankaracharya of the South was not set up by Kashmiri Pandits. These pandits were struggling to survive and how can they set up somebody.
Shankara was born in Kerala , he was influenced by Buddhism which was the prevalent religion in Kerala in those days. He came up with a form of Hindu thought called Advaita ( means not duality)which was fundamentally different to popular Hinduism and its beliefs , he propagated his thought by travelling far and wide. His travels brought him to Kshmir. He established four maths in India to continue the propagation of his philosophy.
His form of thought was closer to monotheistic thought and some would say also atheistic in nature.

Aishwarya Rai is from the south western parts. People in these parts are a mixture of various groups from long past such as Portuguese, Greeks , Jews,Persians, Arabs , and others so I am not surprised. Whole groups of foreigners steeled down and were made part of Hindu society at various levels.
What surprises me is your statement that they have ``pakistani`` blood in them.
I can tell you this - some Hindu groups of south west are more Semtic looking than many Pakistanis I have seen.
Hell I thought the Roshans were Bongla, not from Pakistan.
Now granted that Indians are dark, ugly uncouth etc. What good has ``your good looks`` done to your country ?
Is it any better?
Maybe there are more lecherous Arab suitors over in the NWFP cause that is were all your good looks emanate from.

Wonderful hypothesis. Brahmans destroyed this , killed that etc.
How many Brahmans were left in Gandhara when hordes from the WEST ( note not from north) destroyed what was left of the Buddhist/ Hindu Gandhara civilisation.
Is it not strange that the idea for a Momin homeland in South Asia was proposed by the descendant of a Kashmiri Pandit. Is it not strange that the best writer in Urdu - Manto was a descendant of Kashmiri Pandits.
Maybe South Asia would have been a better place if not for the shepherds and losers from west of Bolan and Parachinar , did not they have to escape poverty in their homelands and settle down in Sindh and Panjab even parts of kashmir.
Are you gong to blame Summi-Shia clashes ; inter ethnic clashes such as Pashtun-Hazara, Pashtun-Tajik on Brahmans.
I am ashamed that you would flatter the Brahmans with the notion that they are able to rule your life.

RSridhar rambles on.
Sridhar bhai - why should anybody care about who wrote the history of kashmir some centuries back.
Sridhar do you have a theory on why India cannot seem to make it to any major Soccer tournament?
Or why is it that India cannot win cricket series abroad?

Turkey seems to favor a short passing game. Senegal seemed content on defending . And Germany seemed like it was embarrased to defeat USA. Any other European team or Brazil might have handled USA soccer team differently.
As far as Bengal dominating Indian soccer goes , those days seem to be over. The last national champions ( Santosh trophy) were Kerala who beat Goa in the final. The best player to come out of Bengal in the past 2 decades is actually a Sikkimese guy by the name of Bhaichung Bhutia.

Fiercely independent Indians - huh not the vast majority anyway. India was the fiefdom of a family for the good part of the past 60 years. And we know the history of the 1200 years preceding that.
Just because Communism is invisible do not count it out. There is a good possibility that it will be revived in th next 15-20 years considering the state of the vast majority of the denizens of this world.
Vast majority of Indians probably take anybody with a pinch of salt, considering the leaders they have been used to.

More and more Brahmins of the South have reconciled to the inevitable numbers of ``others` surrounding them and have adjusted to that.
Can we say the same about the ``twice-born`` of Uttar Bharat.
People who have to live within 80% reservation societies adapt and adjust quicker than societies where the truth has not sunk in yet.

I am sure Layman will have something to say about the Tam words
Maman - this actually means maternal uncle in Tamil, I do not know if there is a double entendre to mean ``paramour``, normally when used as a double entendre Maman can mean pimp
Bhanji - I am not sure if there is a Tamil word such as this, the closest word that approximates niece would be marumagal which literally means the alernate daughter
So Ali1 I am not sure if you are trying to test second hand Tamil passed onto you by colleagues.

And based on my limited knowledge of Kannada I would say ``Koodh Kondu`` means ``to sit `` , which is kinda similar to one of the handles that has been used here.
Layman must consider assisting the Tamil equivalents of Dada Khondke and David Dhawan with double entendres and such stuff.

First there are still a few aborigines left in Australia , there are some Maoris left in NZ, there are Indians left in America, what does all this prove?
