Let There be Light... well in USA now a days if a husband or wife worked 9-5 only then his/her career growth is severely limited specially in Corporate USA. You have to have put extra hours, weekends to get extra work done which earns you high pay, promotion etc.

Now it all come back to Work Life balance which varies from person to person, from couple to couple to couple.

its is very difficult and its choice - you want to sacrifice one thing to get other, cannot get everything - does not work

1. After you get kid you start worrying about his/her up bringing, if you are Muslim and send him/her to public schools then you have to teach him/ her again at home about Muslim values etc. Otherwise he/she gets influenced by other kids at school (sex, drugs and all that stuff)

2. If you send him/ her to Muslim school then those schools are not good and severely limits your kid’s chances to get into top notch Universities.

again choice....

but I believe for a family both husband and wife should think seriously about everything in their life whether its sex, kids, work, balance etc and hope it works out.

so these all things are case to case - you cannot generalize though guide lines or Best Practices can be shared

on lighter note on ONIONS:
you can get crushed onions from stores and they taste as good as original..

Khaki wisdom -- One-way ticket to Hell well I agree that defense forces should not rule a state. But in Pakistan executive and judiciary are not strong enough and qualified enough in their work. So they give way to army to come in and grab the power.

this is not to say that army has credentials to rule a state but it is to say that executive and judiciary are weak. Army is strong institution, well managed and they have clear thinking what they want to do.

May I ask what credentials new PM of Pakistan has ? education wise, work wise ? can he talk in front of world leaders ? can he negotiate ? does he now spellings of FINANCE ? does he knows what problems Pakistan have ?

Now you give argument that let executive and judiciary flourish ? why is this a University where you admit politicians and judges to get TRAINING at the expense of people ?

My dear when you are weak at your work then your colleagues who are good at their work will come and replace you from your seat.

So don`t blame army (only institute left in Pakistan which is doing well) and tell executive and judiciary to get a character and will and then talk.

solve Kashmir dispute, make peace with India, get Pakistani people educated, do land reforms, build roads and army will not come again.

Musings Of A Suspected Terrorist well, mostly of the people whoa re detained by INS have problem with their legal status in US- some over stayed etc. So don`t worry if you are being Photographed, Fingerprinted or Interviewed (PFI) by INS. After all they do same when you for Green Card - at that time you don`t have any problem ? tell me why ? because you are getting green card hmmm.

So chill out. After all US is giving you a nice and cool living here - that you cannot imagine at your home - Pakistan . can you ?

Secondly - even after all US is giving you work visa, green card and citizenship - please note citizenship and remember that US is ``not a Muslim country``. And what your Muslim countries are doing (Gulf States)- there you cannot get citizenship - no matter how long you serve. in Some Gulf States you can not marry a Muslim woman even if you are Muslim . And then you have courage to talk about American Policies.

So please keep your mind OPEN and try to think why they do this ?
