This is interesting. Historically minorities are persecuted by the majorities all over the world. Persecution can be on the basis of colour ( as it used to happen in the US , culture ( what spanish invaders did to South America ), economic ( what developed countries are doing to Africa ), religion ( what Germany did to Jews ). In todays scenario, it is India where minorities seem to live in relative peace and comfort as compared to other countries. I read somewhere that Islam is interpreted to preach peace and harmony in places where it is in minority ( US, India ) and opression of minorities in places where it is in majority ( Pakistan, Arabic countries ). What is sinister is to brand all non muslims as non believers and get religious sanction from mad mullahs to kill them

I have read a lot of auto reviews by Murad Baig and have found him to be very articulate and well informed. I was there fore shocked and pained by his analysis of India and the culture. That he is a Masters in History makes this analysis and probably his understanding very shallow. I guess he has let his religious views and sentiments overtake logic and knowledge that is required to make a impartial analysis of Indian culture. This looks more like an effort to tarnish our culture than an effort to put it in the right space. And starting his article by saying we as Indians do not appreciate anything negative being said about our culture itself indicates his real intentionsI hope that chowk will remove this offending and insensitive article from its site

A high quality closet fundamentalist. Push them a little and they come out in the open with fangs bared and spewing venom. Fazrana is one such person.A classy one too. This is what happens when you are articulate and have a fundamentalist bent of mind. Fazrana I need to ask you a question is there something called as moderate in what you have written. If you are so incensed by what is happening today try to get a little back into history and see who crossed the limits all the time

This is hilarious. Burqua is a repressive costume used by possisive and insecure men to heard their women as some objects under the guise of religion. Need to be banned as s scourge to humanity as it prevents us from seeing and admiring Gods most beautiful creation

Concerned about the color of tiles used in a toilet and giving it a religious tone - how much more paranoid can one get. This man is totally zilch. India is presently the only country where minorities can live in relative peace. The fact that you are able to spew venom against Indian policy and still be around is indication of the freedom of speech you get here ( had this been Pakistan or other repressive countries, you would have ended in a electric chair ).

This makes sense. The concept of Jehad, may have been relevant in the middle ages, itself seems outdated in todays world. This is today used by mad mullahs to whip relegious passions of common people to achieve their sinister ideals. These medival thoughts and ideas have no place in todays world. Shun these propogators of hate who will lead you to the dark ages and instead take a step into what we have now
