Unnoticed Invisibility

WHERE HAS MY PARO GONE?

When my parents married

Every young and old blessed the couple

They wished them to live happily

And have a son

I was born

And on my birth there was jubilation all over

All thronged and wished me long life

A handsome career and a bride

Young, and beautiful as if from the moon.

I grew up just as every one had wished

Young healthy and handsome

My mother looked in every nook and corner

For a princess of the fairies

And one day she did find one-

You

My heart skipped a beat,

I lost my world to you

And even presented you with a tiny globe

Yes it was only yesterday

Some 30 years or so ago

All these fleeting moments you have been

Excellent cook, nanny and a housemaid

A pretty and clever shopper

One could hire the best,

But who could hire a love

Who said you were stupid

Your art is in deceiving so many

Captivating

You have all the out and inlaws

It’s I with all the flaws

When I come home and look for you

I want to hear nothing

I want to say nothing but I love you

And only find

Vilainish little arms tangling your neck *

Or get for an answer

My mother is in the kitchen!

My grannny is with the neighbours!

My Auntie is out to a seek bahoo!

The would be daughter in law

Another fairy- for a handsome young fool

Who one day sitting in a secluded corner

Wishing the fairy would have a moment for him

Shall wait till eternity like me

And ask every passing moment

Where has my Paro gone?

*(Irony, cant call them “ROO SIAH”, RAQIBAN E GUL RUKH!)

“I understand and appreciate the Pakistani view that Kashmir should be able to decide its own fate. However, the Pakistanis must realize India’s point. If the people of sindh wanted to break away, would Pakistan allow it? Even if the majority of Sindhis wanted out?”

Perhaps this is what the Indian politicians had in mind that by the passage of time people will forget the history and can be duped in time to come.

Dust in every bodys eyes- the hijackers and arms all had been boarded on its initial journey to Kathmandu!

That is the only comprehensive reason why India did not want the idiots to land at Lucknow!

The plane had 40 minutes fuel seeking permission to land at Lahore and eventually when it landed at Amritsar it had 15 minutes fuel. Why insist on landing at Lahore when the plane had 40 minute fuel and not try and make to home air field Amritsar where they had every and indegenous option! THE INDIANS WANTED TO INTERNATIONALISE IT.

there is only one solution. May be considered a ruthless and callous one.Dont give in to the hijackers. All IATA members should resolve not to allow any plane to fly again if it has landed anywhere with hijackers on board.Yes it may mean death to so many passangers. It would be better than keeping the toll rising in future.

National integration was never sought in Pakistan.

Isnt it a little too early to deduce the failure. I don’t blame you for that, being away for quite a while and banking maily on yolk of egg yellow media.Yes the viloence has been attributed-imposed and give the dog a bad name and shoot it.

There are three types of intelligent people in the world:

1. Those who learn from other peoples’ experiences.

2. Those who learn from their own experiences.

3. Those who don’t learn even from their experiences.

It was over heard in an Officers Mess While they were gossiping away. The heated discussion was if sex is entertainment or a job. No body coming to an agreement it was agreed to call a recruit and ask his opinion, he said, “Sir had it been a job it would have been assigned to us!

QURESHIWA

It is a conspiracy against the great province of Punjab. This general has hijacked the government of Pakistan with the help of mostly Punjabi army. The Punjabis have deserted Mr. Nawaz Sherif. It is the conspiracy of the other provinces to hang the leader of Punjab to get even with. THIS GENERAL WANTS TO DESTROY THE BALANCE OF POWER IN PAKISTAN. HE WANTS TO DESTROY THE DOMINATION OF PUNJAB. He is the enemy of Punjab. He is against of Punjab. He wants to punish its leadership. So sad, the mostly Punjabi army failed to see that. The people of Punjab need to wake up and realise their power and eliminate this Son of a gun.

(ALL IN ONE BREATH!)

To greet the millennium Ms/. Quresiwa has introduced to the world a precision balance and unitary system. The world at large is invited to get their balance calibrated with QURESHIWA.

SUT SARI AKAAL!

I should change my mind and demand a complete ban on every kind and in whatever quantity of intoxicants in Pakistan.

In response to #382/chowk survey

Dear bahmad,

Perhaps your comment that:(1) Musharraf has a bettter understanding of Pakistani history than what Zia-ul-Haq did., needs elaboration.

I don’t think Zia had any fear of or any threat from ZAB. In a conversation, prior to ZAB’s hanging late Mr.Talpur, ex-Governor Sind to a querry, “what would happen if ZAB were hanged” replied: “MERI MOOCH PESHAB MEIN MOONDH DENA AGAR AIK MURGEE KA BACHCHA BHI KOON KAR JAEY.”

(You may shave my mustach in urine if a chick were to raise its voice in protest, an expression to convey insult when proved wrong).

He was not proved wrong and died with his mustach intact and Zia ruled for 11 years. And PPP cashed in on (i) a, Zia’s failure to deliver, for which he was not brought in. b, ppp cashed in on Bhuttos corpse raising the same provincial slogan as many are doing now. (ii) the then President can clarify what made him ask BB and not NS. to HORSE TRADE vote of confidence. DEMOCRATIC PROCESS WAS NEVER INTENDED TO FLOURISH.

3. Hanging would be just or not, only time can tell, it may not be advisable, keeping in view the weaknesses in the law enforcers.

Regards.

Petroleum prices:

If any body thinks that increase or levying of any taxes in Pakistan will improve the

over all economy or condition of the people in Pakistan is seriously mistaken. The greedy and unscrupulous/inefficient bureacrats will only use the amounts for their benefit. Not very far back in Zias regime at advent of Arab Iraq War it was excused that the petroleum prices wuold as a result of the war be raised in the international market to the tune of $40 dollars a barrel, to which to date they have never increased, and that if the prices fell the people would be accordingly benefited! Never the prices of petroleum products have been lowered because of slump in the international oil prices. Never the people of Pakistan been benfitted with agreements with the Muslim Oil Exporting Countries through which Pakistan imports oil at subsidised rates. The corrupt government officials only need an excuse to raise oil prices. Prior to Ayubian era Petroleum prices were raised per gallon, then it was very cleverly found that by introducing metric system more than 4 ½, tax can be levied, a gallon being equal to nearly 4 ½ leters, the only way Pakistani people have BENEFITTED by introduction of the Scientific and advanced unitary system! To top it all whatever percentage of oil Pakistan produces is sold at the international rate! Much to the amusement of the officials one should come with a suggestion that people who do not dirnk should be taxed heavily!

They talk of austerity and life simple

Full of greed pomp and hate

They fleece us and rule our fate

Bring me a preacher wiry and nimble!

I am glad the chowk has become very liberal lately. They did not print my submission on their 2nd anniversary. They did not get rid of ZAB, BB OR NAWAZ. They lent them the throne and took it back. So what is wrong? You read your submission once again cool heartedly. You will find you have certified only what so many people have been trying to drive…. the truth in. How very right you are, the Muhajir Qaumi Movement (Altaf) knew they would never get 51% Sind Provincial Assemby seats. What to think of the National Assembly. The logical recourse would have been to form Mutahida Qaumi Movement, which they did to attract likeminded people from other political groups and in other provines. They may be weakest group, from any standard but what can you do, they have been returned the third largest party in Pakistan. A fact which can not be denied. A fact much to the disgust of many. And all the kings’ horses and all the kings’ men could not pull them down and rein! As far as the quota system is concerned my personal view is that I am surprised at the wisdom and chivalry of 98% that they are so scared of the weakest of the weak. The Mutahida should really be grateful to you for pushing the East Punjabis to them and help the east punjabis make their mind, uptil now the POOR only shied answering “PICHHOON KITHON AYE HO? (Where do your ancestors belong?).

If the kingmakers are to seek the Mutahidas help? Mutahida should extend fullest unconditional cooperation to the cause of Pakistan. To my mind it will be a good omen for Pakistan. By the way what has been the achievement of OPERATION CLEANUP, clean up what with what they did? They, Mutahida demanded the very thing you all are clamouring about now. You are atleast 10 to 15 years behind! Had there been any system and rule somebody would definitely question the strategy makers as to the cost and outcome of the operation. I am also glad that in 28 years for the first time I am hearing mention of East Pakistan. Perhaps now people will realise they should not be scared of majority. It is only a game of give and take—not only take and take and take. Whose agent were Generals Babar and others? As for the percentage in establishment we both will have to study elementary arithmatic I believe!

My belief is if Baluchistan lives Pakistan lives and similarly if Sind lives Pakistan lives and if Sarhad lives Pakistan lives and if Punjab lives Pakistan lives. Lets make whole of Pakistan strong prosperous and proud of each other so let us raise a slogan in unison JEEAY PUNJAB, JEEAY SARHAD, JEEAY SIND AND JEEAY BALUCHISTAN so that Pakistan can JEEAY!

No hard feelings and nor any heartburning as long as it is for the good of PAKISTAN. PAKISTAN ZINDABAD.

Zeemax#137,

It is wrong to assert that the 1973 constituition was unanimously agreed. Wali Khan and others had objected to certain clauses, particularly the clause nullifying the vote of no confidence in the Assembly against the Prime Minister, to which only a promise, never intended to keep, was made by ZAB that it could be discussed at Murre in April and Zab never made to Murre to discuss and amend accordingly. Wali Khan had also suggested one vote one province formula so the intersts of the smaller provinces could not be usurped by sheer majority.

3. Let there be really fair elections for two or three terms and let the NATION decide for itself if they want to continue with what number of parties. The present politicians and the Dizzy tanks should not be allowed to decide for the nation.

4. At long last may be sense to prevail.

Provinces 2.

Sind need not be divided. There being no demand to make Karachi a province by the people. It has been the dream of the proverbial monkey that came to resolve the dispute among two kittens and enjoyed the cake. SIND IS INDIVISIBLE.

Don’t just stand there infront of the mirror cursing yourself- go blow your nose and wash your face when you have a chance. Somebody here said Punjab shared 65% majority here! Musharraf represents less than 1% in the army or forces.

If at all there is a “conspiracy” for M.Q.M. why should there be any thing wrong with it when it has not been wrong to deprive its rightful share in the past? I am sure Faiz would be tossing and turning in his grave.

Legalisation.

Well well, this may lead to an interesting study. Have concubines and wine really been banned? One has to come up with authentic references. Some novices through the ages have portrayed a beautiful thing ugly. Why such heavy penalty of Rs. 1000/- tax per bottle? If the reason is that one gets drunk and loses sense using it then the the bread should sell at + taxes Rs.10000/-

Takafull:

And what the level of education should be? Who and why he would SET the standard for any body?

To my mind every thing I do is legal as long as I don’t infringe upon jurisdiction of any body’s nose! This much freedom one should fairly ask for.

Wonder what can not be discussed here at chowk that a privacy nook is required, any way if there is, I am there.

It is not a case of the egg came first or the chick. For any ideal to be attained it is first to occur in somebody’s mind, discussed profusely and then comes the stage when it can be implemented. It is also very seldom that the originator of the idea is the implementer too. What ever in this world is discussed is taken into account and policies formulated and reformulated and adjustments made. I believe the discussions for and against at chowk have also contributed, among other reasons and contribution from other sources, towards changing the posture of the USA and recently the Great Britain. Reference: “Till recently, Britain had been in the forefront in the international condemnation of the coup and had been leading a campaign to suspend Pakistan from the Commonwealth. Now it has expressed willingness to talk with the military rulers, according to a report in The Sunday Telegraph.

``Gen Musharraf will find us ready listeners and willing to play a constructive role as long as he gives uncompromising commitments to building a new democracy,`` Foreign Office Minister Peter Hain said in an interview with the paper. Reading Pakistani minds/ public opinion and situation did affect. I hope chowk is contributing greatly towards transformng us into good listeners also and providing us an opportunity in being patient and not only learnig to discuss and face crticism but also to learn to express our differences of opinion without the stink of expressinos that could be smelled across oceans as in the recent past.

As for the brain drain I feel that it is not a great loss since we are not that much developed to make use of them. They are mastering their skills and making more use of them. Whenever the conditions are conducive Pakistani Brain has come back to serve Pakistan the learned Pakistanis are and have been serving here in very adverse conditions. Among the thousands Dr. Qadir Khan being one. The other thing to remember is that many have been driven having been victim of nepotism etc., etc. Bahmad has summed it in very appropriate words when he says that brain drain would be a problem if Pakistan could make use of them all.
