Get a grip. You don`t have to read or respond if you feel annoyed. You should have grasped the topic of the article from first few lines. Don`t tell me, you, despite you annoyance, read all.:)

I disagree with your assertion that people owe service to any land (country) on which they had the misfortune of birth.
I believe people should choose the nation, religion (Atheist being top), class, profession, etc. and not be assigned one. That is the mark of true society. Anything less is a crime.

I don`t understand punjabi pakis desire for friendship with sikhs. Sikhs hate muslims. (For the most part.)

Tibalism is ugly. As a collection of nation, hopefully ethnic identities will dissipate with time. No more punjabis, rajputs, or kashmiris, etc. Just people who align on political ideologies and not on ethnic or religions lines.

By the way, don`t let the Talibs see your statue/face. They will BLOW it up and then argue your lack of concern for the suffering of ordinary people around you.

Random Thoughts From a Far Away Land
You said, ``Which has its genesis in the complex that indians have ( and I hate to be a bigot but I have to point out ). A complex that arises from the ``reality`` of Pakistan, that exists, and inshaALLAH will exist until QIYAMAH. Good or bad, in ramshackle condition or miserable is not the point. IT EXISTS, only to haunt you all of the fact that Muslims, with the miracle of Allah the ALmighty succeeded in getting themselves a homeland. What for, and how is it faring now, is not the point. They got it, and you hate it...so grow up guys...Pakistan is there, to exist, and we are happy as Pakistanis..at least I am ALHAMDULILLAH!!!``
News for you is that Indians really don`t give a rats asz about existance of Pakistan....they aren`t bothered. Future existance of Pakistan will be decided by Pakistanis alone. No nation comprising or diverse ethnic group slipping down the economic ladder can avoid secisnist forces. Existance of Pakistan is not dependent on India. However, that said, Indians like having Pakistan around because they have a nation even more wreched than themselves to compare with.

Punjabi script in Punjab is refered as Punjabi and not Gurmakhi. I know because I had Punjabi classes and gurmakhi classes.

Some issues can`t be resolved. That is not actually correct: they do get resolved when one party ceases to exist. You should hope that it isn`t Pakistan who will devour itself over Kashmir.

Difference between a fanatic and a normal person is that a fanatic wears his dogma on the sleeve and find insult and provocation in every act. Standing for any national anthem isn’t any persons duty. If someone wishes to do so, I applaud that person, but vexing over others inadherence to your set of misguided beliefs is disturbing. I wouldn’t care if you decide defecate during an Indian nation anthem. And to me, any other countries national anthem is nothing more than a song which I am not too particularly fond of. Remember, Independence doesn’t mean slavery to another, albeit local, institutions.
Regarding salutes….I don’t know. Did Musharaff salute Indian officers? He is still a General after all. Hell, he should salute Indian PM and Pres as well. Regarding your comment that Indian AC didn’t want to salute or didn’t salute Musharaff, I am not sure what you are saying, Indian military is firmly under civilian control and always has been. Our soldiers will do what our civilian leaders ask.
Dude….after reading the rest of your post I am confused. Are you criticizing Mushraff for not going to Gandhi’s samadhi, admiring Nehru visit or Jinnah’s mausleum….what? You need to write more clearly.
Mushraff doesn’t have to go anywhere he doesn’t want to. He doesn’t have to visit Gandhi’s samndhi. It makes not difference to Indians if he respects our forefathers or despises them. It makes no difference to us if we respect our own forefathers or not. We are a free society after all and each to his own opinions.
