All of Pakistan from karachi to khyber was celebrating when Mush took over including Tahmed Chacchoo.
I was perhaps the only one who wasn't, apart from another nick named RoohiAD (Roohi Allah Ditta). The elite on Chowk were, yes. You can go back to the 'He had no choice' board of Bilal Musharraf. They know better now.
If you believe the character assassination which followed, the same followed after ZAB as well, but nothing changed. Neither it has for Nawaz Sharif.
On these same boards, I had predicted 100+ seats for PML-N when most of these elites were predicting circa 30. NS ended up with 90+. That's close enough.
So? How did Nawaz Sharif gain popularity while in exile for 8 years unless it was always there?
C'mon cliftonbridge ... :(

Wow. If Taliban was to really come to Karachi, does anyone believe they could be daunted by Nazimabad residents with arms? The people who're fighting and defeating armoured vehicles and helicopter gunships?
In any event, they have intention of doing that of-course.

Unlike our friend Zee the taliban apologist (who really does think his nation is worth killing) i dont believe this is a Jinnahpur reference...spooky music.... Zee evoked "India"
Actually I'm not a Taliban apologist but an avid Taliban supporter. First mistake you made.
Second, "who really does think his nation is worth killing" it's not Taliban which is killing Pakistan. It's the Libero-Fascist elites as yourself Ma'am.
Thirdly, re Jinnahpur reference, what do you exactly believe the telephonic scaremongering from London about Taliban invading Karachi is about, if not inflaming ethnic insecurities?

Any help in understanding the MQM mind-set would be greatly appreciated.
Even though this is not addressed to me, I'll answer because cliftonbridge is a victim of the same BS as Karachi's North of Gurumandar is.
MQM wants to make Karachi a City State aligned with India.

... the whole country hated Nawaz
Exactly when? As I recall, when he was dismissed again half way in his second term in musharraf's coup he had a 2/3rd majority - when in his first term he didn't. He came back stronger.
Do get your facts right in the least!

Well said. In fact, hamidm is even worse than Barrister saif, who probably will not be able to live in this country after his musharraf is impeached and exiled, and about the same as Ahmad Raza Kasuri who had his face blackened by a valiant Afridi outside the Supreme Court - and would probably be let off with just that because he's a known nutcase.

For the above reasons it seems very pointless to keep referring to Mush and MQM as the same entity with the same supporters.
Can you answer why and how musharraf has appeared in Karachi twice to make two hour speeches to Karachi 'businessmen', but dare not enter anywhere else in this country?

Where’s the money?
Benazir Bhutto's widower is accusing President Musharraf of siphoning off millions from aid intended to support war on terror
The Sunday Times August 10, 2008. Christina Lamb, Islamabad
Last Tuesday Sharif told Zardari that he would withdraw his support for the coalition unless the president was removed. The following night the impeachment plan was announced at a joint press conference. It follows criticism by the United States during the government’s trip to Washington 10 days ago for failing to rein in the intelligence services still supporting the Taliban.
“To say we’re responsible for the country, yes we are, but first get your role model out of the way, remove your most allied of allies,” said Zardari. “They’ve had Musharraf there 10 years, instead of bringing these issues up with him they are trying to bring them up with us today.”
In the meantime the impending impeachment battle has plunged Pakistan into further instability. Zardari said he had been left with no option after Musharraf refused to accept an honourable exit.
“The offer was on the table that you walk and you don’t get prosecuted, but I’ve had no returns so have had no choice but to go along with my partner’s more aggressive stance,” he said.
