The Unmaking Of Gujrat

Harpo,

Throw a few tomatoes and rotten eggs for me too will ya!

MBenzEnglish, I happened to check your profile and saw NOT to my surprise that out of 18 posts 5 of your posts were rejected. I started reading the 13 published, but this strange thing happened, my head started spinning and I got the headache of my life. Anyways bro whatever you`re smoking, share man!

Urstruly #163. I was debating whether or not to educate you on the origins of the 12 o` clock joke. It has something to do with Nadir Shah, Abdali...heroes of yours are they? Anyways, I decided NOT! No sense in debating with a moron.

Urstruly, Get help, my God, I feel physically sick to listen to the venom you spit, and the hatred you feel. You unfortunately are the Muslim face the world media has been propagating, you are your own worst enemy!

scout #248..I heard another one, supposedly God boiled a large cauldron of rice and the white rice on top was slightly undercooked, the centre was just right, and bottom of the cauldron was burnt. As the story goes he made whites with the undercooked, Punjabi`s with the rest (can`t remember exactly how it goes), and made blacks with the burnt scrapings. No end to the imagination of some is there. :-) My question is then what about the orientals?

`That said, Azra didn’t quite live in that very world. Her heart, her mind and her soul were twisted together into a shape that didn’t fit in her body all too well.`

Loved it! This sounds strangely like somebody I`m trying very hard to know. Written from personal experience?

Deepa Mehta’s Bollywood/Hollywood

Apparently she is! I was talking with Mogul Media the company that released the movie Bollywood Hollywood here and they told me plans were underway. I also spoke to Deepa, who also signalled the same thing. I loved Fire, Earth was good too, but Water sounds like it may top them both.

Dost-Mitar Ji, don`t know if there was a hoo haa in Toronto. In Vancouver all hell broke loose before the movie had even released. I was quite heavily involved in the pre-release promotional showings, and the amount of negativity being thrown at anyone who was associated was simply unreal. Deepa`s movies unfortunately attract this kind of repsonse from the un-parr sheep that live our community, here and in India. Thankfully it all blew over once the movie released, and it became obvious that the negative hype was completely unfounded.

During the whole `fire`period there was a time when she was being flanked by 4 bodyguards. Ridiculous!.

Deepa has said recently that she will be finishing `Water`, next year. I can`t wait to see it, and I hope she ignores all her critics and just goes ahead and does her thing.

to dream is to hope..... but I don`t believe we`ll ever have any real peace any more than I believe in Jehovah`s witnesses who tell me God intended for lions and humans to live side by side in harmony!
My Closest Encounter with Death
Posted by Punjaban Nov 18, 2002 07:36 pm
Brat, I think I have reached the conclusion that I personally am not afraid of death, actually quite intrigued to see what comes next. I am afraid of pain, or by the notion I cannot control how I go. Previous to the experience I talked about, I used to wonder sometimes, what would be my last thoughts, who would be in them. Certain religious philosophy, especially that which believes in Karma, states that if in the final moments a person truly thinks of God, he will be saved from the birth and death cycle, achieving mukti. Now whether that is true or not, who knows, but I used to ponder on whether God would enter my thoughts. Having all these questions in my mind previous to the experience, I was truly shocked at the realization that I had thought of no one and nothing...and was simply patiently waiting for it to be over.

Btw, that `Well said!` happened to be in response to post 2.

UmerMurtaza: `let the bastards destroy themselves, I say. Just nature`s way of removing the trash`

Could you kindly elaborate, and explain how you arrived at that conclusion?
