The Fertility Debate
The motive, howver should not be to please colonial masters who want a decrease in the black and brown races of the world, while they provide incentives for the `superior race` to propogate their seed as evidenced in European countries like Germany for example.
In America, we reward our single mothers to have a `haram ka baccha` every year by providing free milk, food, medical services and residences to them. When these women cannot bear any more children, they start their teen daughters to proliferate and therefore guarantee the funds coming in.
Folks, take pride in your children and don`t believe the propoganda of `slave` governments who are their master`s voice when they say `kam bachay khushhal gharana`. That is absolute bull.
Yes, Americans are more conservative regarding abortions than men in Muslim coutries. There are more abortions done in the backwaters of countries like Pakistan than by people who go to doctors for them.

It is permissible in Islam to plan your family. The prophet in one of his ahadeeth stated that he himself practiced family planning. The motive, howver should not be to please colonial masters who want a decrease in the black and brown races of the world, while they provide incentives for the `superior race` to propogate their seed as evidenced in European countries like Germany for example.

Urdu Star-spangled Banner
Yours is an improvement on my bhonda attempt at translating an equally bhonda piece of peotry.
And it was not in jest only. The lines are drawn. It is time to stress the equality of all immigrants in America.
Columbus and Capt. John did not fill out immigration papers when they came. They were not finger-printed and did not respect the laws of this land at the time.
It is time for all immigrants to stress that they will not be treated second class in the land of equal opportunity. That English is not and will not be the official language of USA. There is no reason for the anthem to be in English only. That Hispanics are the future of this country. This the tide of history and no one can stop it. Just like no one could stop European immigrants while it was their time.

Re: # 338 This question and all other comments are aimed at digressing from the actual topic. Actually, the enemies of Islam do not distinguish between Shias and Sunnis unless they are trying to make them fight each other. And yes Hindus, Christian and Jews all fight each other for who is the `real` one, except that it is not brought out on the media. Nothing makes more people more defensive than Islam.
Growing Up Red
You see the root cause of my own `problems` is that I grew up with a heavy dose of of Iqbal and Faiz, not to mention my own `dehria` father. May Allah forgive all their sins.
Faiz is part of my own memories in an entirely different way in the sense that Mrs. Faiz was a regular visitor to PECHS school and Mrs Majeed Malik a great admirer and friend of his.
We celebrated his silver or golden jubilee in 1973 or 1975 at the school. Where we were immersed in his poetery. I did not, at that time, realize `Phir Barq Faroozan hai sari wadi-e-Sina`` had any connections with his being in Beirut with PLO. One day however, Mr. Faiz came to see the rehearsal. I was standing right behind him. I drew myself closer to his chair, so that I could have touched him and preserved the memory of the moment in my mind. To tell my grandchildren about. My grandchildren, unfortunately, may or may not ever know who Faiz was, but now I have told the whole world.

Even Chichu ki Mallian is loudly pronouncing fears that it is the next US target.
Sadly, the Paki hysterical committee should realize that a dog does not chase a car it has already caught.
The US occupation of Pakistan already occurred some 2 years ago, when they were in the neighborhood of Afghanistan. Let Qazi Hussain Ahmed holler all he wants. He already lives in US territory.

Dear Dina,What American women don`t understand is that the South Asian male gets off the plane looking for something to sleep with.
I have seen them hook up with American, Chinese, etc., etc.
Also, if he has slept with you he wont marry you. That is the psyche of the South Asian male, Indian, Pakistani, or Bangladeshi (even Arab). Nothing to do with race or religion (they actually love anything in white skin, even a donkey).
Next time, you think of sleeping with someone outside your culture, just do your homework.

Things happen everywhere, but you never see Indians hollering about what a bad place India is to live in. They are smarter than self proclaimed intellectuals in Pakistan, who have nothing better to do than create bad P.R. for their own country in the world.
While, the Indians keep quiete about the slums of Calcutta, and sing about the `romance`, and `spituality` of cow pooping dung on the street.

Shadowlines (Part I)
Indian experts doubt train torched from outside
AHMEDABAD, India, July 3 (Reuters) - Indian forensic experts have cast doubt on police statements that an arson attack on a train that triggered a wave of deadly religious violence was carried out by a Muslim mob hurling petrol.
A forensic report said the sleeping car in which 59 Hindus were burnt alive in late February in western Gujarat state was set ablaze inside. This contradicted the police version that the train caught fire when a crowd of Muslims threw buckets of petrol at it from outside.
``The inspection of the tracks and burning pattern on the exterior of the coach confirm the inflammable liquid did not come from outside,`` said the report obtained by Reuters on Wednesday.
The report by a Gujarat government state laboratory did not try to assign responsibility for the attack in Godhra, 150 km (95 miles) northwest of Ahmedabad, the province`s main city.
The pendulum of blame has swung wildly since the torching of the coach which set off a wave of reprisal killings in which officials say at least 1,000 people, mostly Muslims, lost their lives in India`s worst religious violence in a decade.
Human right groups put the death toll at over 2,500.
At first, the Hindu nationalist-led government suggested ``outside forces including the ISI`` -- the Inter-Services Intelligence agency of Pakistan with which India is locked in a military standoff -- could have been responsible.
There were also reports the attack in the market town could have been planned by militants fighting Indian rule in Kashmir and others who talked of a conspiracy by local Muslims.
The report was prepared by forensic experts who re-enacted the attack. It said at least 60 litres of inflammable liquid were splashed inside one end of a coach and set alight. If the liquid had been thrown from outside, the flames should have engulfed the coach from underneath.
In their re-enaction using water, the experts found only 10 to 15 percent of the liquid thrown from outside a coach went inside while the rest spilled onto the tracks.
The report also said three of the coach`s four doors were open at the time of the attack contrary to witness accounts that passengers locked the doors and windows to escape stone pelting.
The report forms part of a police chargesheet. Fifty-four people have been charged so far in connection with the attack.
A senior police official, who declined to be named, said the report would not be the ``sole factor determining the case. There are dozens of witnesses accounts which are equally important.``

Shadowlines (Part I)
My grand parents were driven out of Afghanistan by the grand parents of the Taliban. I could not understand why my father would use the choicest curses for the Pashtoon in the street, when I was fist fighting every Karachiite kid for calling me Pathan Lala.
The reality of the situation dawned on me when living in a Quetta suburb, surrounded by muhajireen squatters. There I saw the divide between the North and the South, and how they will never meet.
Babaa had promised to go trekking in the hills of Afghanistan, but he died before peace was ever restored. I was left with an unfulfilled fantasy, of visiting Afghanistan, of going to Kabul and Kandhahar, or what is left of it. I know it is a crazy dream, but I have to do this before the end.
