#15 yes, ALL euro airlines are SHIT... AF being really shit, have you ever gone on Iberia, they`re nastier, and look really tired and very cheap third world! The worst tho i have to say are North American airlines, all the staff have grey hair, and they look horrible...
The top ones are all in the far east, Malaysian, Cathay Pacific, Thai, and Singapore... and their crew wear lovely clothes and look very young and pretty

PIA (Prayers In the Air) should be privatised. All the useless safarshi aunty ji`s and uncle ji`s should be sacked, its too over staffed, with not much being done by the staff... but that is the same for every Pak Govt. owned enterprise, they all run into losses then expect the Quomi Khazana to pay the bill... I thought their inflight mag was called Humsafar, it was two months ago when i flew them from ISB to LHR... and yes the fact that they fly direct is the only good thing they got going as soon as other do these routes they will be in trouble... #15 yes, ALL euro airlines are SHIT... These guys aren`t childish or immature, they`re away from home maybe for the first time, and it is difficult to handle, and can be an emotional rollercoaster, they will be like this until they emotionally mature to be able to handle the distance, so give them a break and stop calling them immature.
Even when i go to scotland, i always bring back lots of garam masala that my mother has hand made herself with loads of diff spices, some that she has bought from Pakistan, to bring back to London, and we`re only 400 miles away!!!! i can imagine those guys who are 4000 miles away!!!
At least i can go once a month, poor guys can get to India once or twice a year if they are lucky!!!

guys, the tomato pickle represents his emotions at being seperated from all he knows in this cold city. It represents all the good thngs he knows in life, and thats why the tears welled up, cause it was a bit of his mother, a bit of India he was looking forward to. If you`re talking about Islam, then i`m not really the least bit bothered, as i am not a very religious person. For the most part Muslim people in `Muslim` countries are like Christians in Christian countries, i.e. not really fussed, its just there.
If you want to debate about what is right or wrong or what so and so Hadith says then go and debate with a scholar who gives a hoot!
Personally i feel all religions have a nice and a not so nice part, and can be used to manipulate people to do the worst things that humanity has seen, it can also motivate people to do the best. At the end of the day its just a tool, use it how you see fit, if at all!

5-6 generations ago my family were indeed Hindu and Sikh, we def. dont hide this fact, and are not ashamed of it at all, this fact still shows in our names. I`m quite happy with my Hindu and Sikh history, as well as quite content with my Muslim present. At the end of the day they are just different ways to reach God.

Chill out and learn to take a joke. Stop trying to make a mountain out of nothing. Stop being so anal about bara baje, if you ever crossed the Ravi you would hear the term all the time and not in reference to Sikhs. Post #16 sounds like a petty childish idiot, in a class trying to get everyone on his side about something irrelevant.
And what about your use of the term Jihadi, if i wanted to be anal i could easily bring that up, your obvious uneducation shows when you use that term willy nilly especially in a stereotypical term towards Muslims. Just because someone says something (you think is anti sikh) they must be a jihadi! Bongia sochna chad dey, tey gittya to apni akil kad leya

hmm bit of along rant could`ve been done better, the dialogue is unrealistic, and there is too much similies and metaphore style language that required the reader to concentrate too much, although there is lots of good vocabulary here. The Bombay ending seemed a bit off from the rest of the peice. With a little more honing it could become a better peice. Keep on trying. On another note, i thought ISI hired Indians instead of actually sending Pakistanis over, i thought Pakistanis were only reserved for Kashmir!

Regardless of whether you are raised in the west or east, to experience something like this especially for the first time, can be quite nerve racking and it was those few moments after the event that i tried to capture. Also to challenge the myth that this happens only to young girls and women. Yes there are many ways of greeting each other in various societies, however the character in the story was not being greeted, so there is nothing for any other society here to take wrongly, or misinterpret.
Regards the sexual abuse that you talk about below, that is a very complex issue that this article does not attempt to deal with.
Thanks

Doctor, Can You Give Me Something for the Pain?
Minhas is a very common name in Pakistan, before it was Sikh, it was probably Hindu or Muslim, (remember both these religions were in India well before Sikhism)
My ancestors were also Sikh and Hindu and not that long ago, only 5-6 generations ago! But they were, and are Punjabi, when they were Sikh, Hindu and Muslim. Religion is not important but coming together as a people is much more important than that.
You cannot say that one is better than the other, and this is our weakness, as soon as we put this religion centric approach behind us, we can rise as human beings, with core values (that all these religions supposedly teach).
Anyways
