Where is Ibn-Sina of the 21st Century?
Posted by Ally Dec 13, 2007 05:33 am
you will find that in Quran Allah commands the reader to ponder

This is exactly what Qutubshahi sahib is saying... we need to ponder, think more instead of just blindly following mullah char sau bees!!!

Majumdar

there is no language called 'Muslim'... there are various laguages spoken by people who are Muslim by faith... In Urdu and most other South Asian languages the word for statue is Moorti... Buth Purust is the name given to the followers of Buddha (in Urdu) buth i presume came from budh...

i understand what you're saying neembu, but a little bit of thought in the 'art' would be expected instead of khilaring the contents of some old babis rubbish bin!!!

Chill out Neembu, i dont think he is saying we shouldn't have art and stuff, but he does have a point, have you ever been to the tate modern in London, i have to admit some of the stuff in their is just plain rubbish, the gand that passes for 'art' is unreal... in fact they actually had someones rubbish bin with its contents as some sort of artistic thing, come on that is taking the utter piss!!!

Ibrahim in Urdu A level we got to study short stories from the favourites like Manto and Prem Chand, but we also had to study that god awful dipty nazir ahmed and his book Taub'ut Nasuh couldn't stand the lesson our teacher was trying to instil in us, if anything it made me more of a kanjar, though reading Umrao Jaan was more fun, i couldn't finish either of the books!!!

I thought India was more 'liberal' or 'accepting' on these sort of issues!!!

I'm surprised that its all so underground still in 'shining India'!

Klifton Khala Subha Subha to aap kelye haiN, hamarey liye do peher ka vaqt tha!

I do understand the diff between RSS and Taliban now!

I did see that expose that you are talking about it was on in August. What can i say the younger generation super gorafied Pakistani now cant even pronounce Urdu properly, lekin afsoos ki baat yeh haiN ke vo mujh se zyaada kam nahii haiN umer meiN!

Its amazing how lack of exposure and trying degrade ones mother tongue to such dismal levels of uselessness!

Now can you imagine his kids!!!

Kaal

This is already happening, but the fact is, Talibanis dont want to even think about debating with other ideolgies, they are not really interested (can an unemployed, uneducated twit with a gun and a 4x4 with chamcha all around him really be concerned with this?)

OBL has done his thinking and has called all other Muslims muafiq/kafir etc.

Even on Chowk, look how hard it is to deal with the likes of Zeemax and Atif. These ppl are our RSS and VHP

tahmed

settle for the second best solution - namely for a return of the rule of law

how can this happen if she (and her crew) are above the law itself? How can people take the return of law seriously if the people bringing it back are the very ones who have screwed with it the most, just seems strange to me!

IMHO

This isnt a fight about Islam v's secular or democractic principles... its more about poor v's rich, the aggrieved v's the agrievers...

The rich need to stop being so greedy and start investing in Pakistan, we NEED an education system a healthcare system and our young ppl to have opportunity... none of this exists in Pak, and ppl flock to the one they think can provide it (1st it was the mma now its the ppp - roti kapra makkan)... instead mushy buys more toys for the boys and does some underhand deals with the pyscho mullahs... if just for one year, just one year, the pak forces gave up there budget and gave it to social development there would be so much betterment in our society and probably a lot less extremism, bomb blowing etc...
Good on ya Bangladesh!

Well said Ahmer

Its such a bezti to Pakistan! If Pak is to progress we have to put ethnicity and stuff behind and move forward as one country... the least Pak could do is give those guys dual-nationality (Pak Bengali), if it doesnt want to pay for their repatriation... but no they are too concerned getting Mushy re-elected!

Hey Umer

Hows it going? The Naserrudin stories are similar to the ones we read in Turkish of Hoca Nasrettin, i suppose every middle eastern/central asian country has there version of Nasrettin!!!
