Resisting Subjugation
When did you wake up and realize that we are going in the wrong direction. We have been going in the wrong direction for last 8 years. Citibank (London) issued a research report on Sep 2 that Pakistan will again be requiring IMF's help to avoid default. And it has the details how consumer fueled growth policy of last regime totally screwed us up. Presently, we are actually paying for the sins of previous regime. And it 8 months of democratic government cannot right what has been wronged in last 8 years.
Frankly speaking, were you really sleeping during the previous regime when not a single megawatt has been added to the national grid despite everyone knowing that we will face power shortage. And if you can't get hold of such reports, let me know and I will email it to you.

My Dear President Musharraf
But wait! Musharraf himself gave Zardari a clean slate by promulgating NRO so Zardari clean. After spending millions of dollars in fighting cases against zardari in switzerland and where not, he quietly withdrew all the cases. Did anybody ask about the return on millions of foreign exchange that was paid as lawers and court fees. But then Musharraf does not believe in courts. He is fond of street justice. In his own words when people were slaughtered in broad daylight on 12th may "Today we have shown our power". This guy does not even deserve to be a street thug. He should be dragged through streets and lynched!!!!
For those of you who have forgotten it, "Women claim rape in Pakistan to get immigration" - Pervez Musharraf to CNN. So much for enlightened moderation.

What Saima and the so called intellectuals have been smoking. They should not worry about Zardari. His character is as clean as a new born. If he was such a bad guy and musharraf such a good guy, musharraf would have tried Zardari in court. But wait! Musharraf himself gave Zardari a clean slate by promulgating NRO so Zardari clean. Excellent post but its like kicking someone when he is already down. I am amazed that how a lot of people have suddenly found morality (Dr. Amir Liaquat) and balls to stand against Musharraf when they realized he is weak.

Would have been much better if shortened and certain digressions to political issues removed. Nice light reading after long time.

Still Looking!
They asked me to be interactive and talk a lot with a girl. At their place, they had also invited girl's mother (also wearing a niqab) and her grandmother whereas I was there with my auntie.
I asked her a few questions but since it was her first time I believe, she felt shy and answered in monosyllables. Then I cracked a joke and everybody laughed. I thought in my head "Hansi to phansi" (Yes! This is how we guys think!)
Anyways, we werent making any progress despite the girl's grandmother egging her on. So seeing the religious bent, I asked the girl "Dua-e-Qunoot suna dain". The grandmother suddenly came to her defence and said in flawless English "My grand daughter prays five times a day. I'd rather you recite the dua and she checks it". I replied "Mein to teen dafa Qul Huallaho Ahad (surat Ikhlas) parhta hoon".
Needless to mention it didn't work out. :)

When I had completed my studies in UK, a family friend decided to introduce me to a prospect in London. Since I was inclined religiously as well as academically, they said that the girl has done Masters in Mathematical Sciences and wears a Niqab. They asked me to be interactive and talk a lot with a girl. At their place, they had also invited girl's mother (also wearing a niqab) and her grandmother whereas I was there with my auntie.

I think NFP should be counted amongst such journalists as Ahmed Quraishi (who?) the one of 'plan to topple Pakistan military' article fame. I mean NFP is leaving behind AG Abdul Qayoom in bending over backwards to find a needle in haystack to praise Musharraf and which is not even a needle but some dried piece of dog shit.

I have seen a lot of ass kissing in the last few months, but this article takes the cake. If Mushy bending over backwards to please his american masters was not a sore sight, here the author not only bends over backwards but also brings his head up again from under his legs to plant a kiss on mushis ass. He should be applauded for this feat.

Deputy Nazir Ahmed wrote these books where there were two sisters Akbari (elder) and Asghari (younger). Akbari was not good at housekeeping (as they say in Urdu: umoor-e-khana dari mein mahir nahin thi) whereas Asghari was an expert housekeeper managing her husband's house efficiently, taking the dishonest maid to task, arranging sevings for uninvited guests in a few seconds. The school textbook introduced us to this brand of Urdu literature.

Najam Sethi was picked up as Army wanted him picked up because he made some anti-Pakistan (I dont know how else to describe then) remarks in India. It was only that it was NS's regime.

Sometimes I wonder why it takes a ages for good stuff to come on Chowk whereas every piece of crap makes it to Chowk daily. This one is no exception

This is billed as satire. It was a rant and should have been stated as such. No wonder the author respects Cowasjee who is well known for ranting. And finally inserting the fav line of pro Mush camp in a different way "We dont have a choice" but in a different way. Mush is hand in glove with Benazir. When you pardon criminals and robbers, you can't wash your hands off that I didn't do it. Mush is as much a criminal and robber as the coterie he keeps. - vanguard
