Affordable UK Degrees

This should have been a brochure rather than an article on chowk.

Is the Birmingham International College recognized by British Council as they are not giving visas for unapproved colleges.

Next time, why don't you write a letter as a Bank Manager in Nigeria where a certain M. Dosa has died leaving you with 1,220,000 dollars and you need my services to release the account for which I will get 30%.
Old Wine, Still Older Bottles

I think its not the politicians. Its we as Pakistanis who have become dead.

I talk to lot of my friends who are doing well professionally. To them, the issues of justice, lawlessness, education, flour prices etc. dont matter as long thy get their paycheck on time.

We have stopped thinking about issues and find it convenient to leave to the self imposed generals to take decisions because then we dont have to share responsibility for his actions "We didnt bring hi. He imposed himself on us".
Good on ya Bangladesh!

Bangladeshi government needs to be applauded for accepting the traitors (which is a soft word)_ those who sided with Pakistan Army in pillaging, murdering, killing, and raping of the bangladeshi nation. It take a big heart to forgive and accept them.

Unlike the Mohajirs of Pakistan who have yet to become a part of this country and still call themselves Hindustani. I think anyone calling himself hindustani ( i am myself part of the community) should be sent to India to live in camps along the lines of stranded Pakistanis.

I was about to write a similar post but you did a much better job. Great piece of writing. If only we could that same chain of events right now.

Spit Syndrome

Hey you could have made it so much more funnier.

I agree with aquaris that you didn't mention "Paan ki Peek" which is favorite occupation of the native "muhajiroon" and is more rampant than the spitting by Afghanis/Pathans.

At least its better than Punjab where you find people urinating instead of spitting. I know they urinate in Karachi as well but its limited to certain walls especially where its forbidden to do so. In Punjab the problem is universal, you find them in every green belt.
Review of the Book: FREAKONOMICS

Mr. VSG,

Its not that bad. Its just a new way of looking at things. If you are really into that much economics, I would suggest Undercover Economist and/or Armchair Economist. You would find them more to your liking.

Suo Motu Action Against Corrupt Stock Brokers of KSE

IB,

Whether the CJP is politically inclined or not, a lot of good is happening.

Regarding the KSE, I would request that lets not bog down the SC with requests for suo motu actions. A lot of people (mainly poor) who do not figure on the radars of government of Pakistan (as well as IB) think of CJP is the savior of last resort because some government officials spend all the working time reading and writing comments over chowk. I dont know when they get their work done. :)

IB, your taking action on behalf of Zoya Khan, would not that count as suo motu action from your side. What if the threatening guy turns out to be a Mohajir or Babar Khan Tijori etc. would you do anything with your bias in favor of Mohajir (btw i myself am mohajir).
News just in

There was one or two hilarious moments in there but that is all. Come on NFP you can come up with much better stuff than this or isn't the music industry not providing you enough material to vent your feelings.

I know our media is acting immature and sensationalizes everything but I think thats a teething stage. It will take it time to achieve maturity.

Even Indian media has similar sensationalism. Ask any indian who was watching during the Prince crisis (a little boy named prince got stuck in a small well).

Even US media not to mention FOX but also including CNN, ABC etc indulge in such sensationalism. A slight maturity is shown by BBC and Aljazeera.

But everyone engages in such things. I mean how else do you expect countless news channels to attract audiences.

Cheer up man. There is a difference between being hilarious and bitterly sarcastic. We need more of the former one but unfortunately what we always get is the latter one.

Boots, Beards, Burqas and Bombs

The analysis had nothing new to offer, nothing which hasn't already been said in the articles appearing and reappearing during the whole saga. The whole purpose seems to be just garner some support for the sinking ship of the Boot wearing Bastard which everyone seems to forget used the same mujahideens to launch the Kargil conflict and then left the bodies behind when retreating.

Re: # 13

IB though I usually consider your arguments well constructed, however, this time I am going to disagree with you. Either you are Kunwar Khalid Yunus who wrote the same lines today or you are totally blind to whats happening on the ground in Karachi or at least choose to be blind.

Being a so called Karachi mohajir myself, I have been seen MQMs terrorists up close as I was their neighbour. I have seen them carrying out tortures, collecting extortions and they still do that.

Last Eid, you wont believe this, I have seen trucks loaded with sacrificial animal hides moving in a convoy within Karachi preceeded and followed by police mobiles so that MQM ghundas dont steal that.

Other parties' hands are not clean either but stop putting MQM in white light.
Why Doxiadis Cries for Islamabad
Posted by vanguard Aug 9, 2007 02:00 am
Mr. Daudpota,

You are casting pearls before swine. To all the educated Islooites that frequent Islamabad Metroblog, you appear a regressive person against the development.

This is not the time of talking about environment, greenery, trees. People want to see development, monuments, skyscrapers, elevated expressways whether we have the infrastructure to support such adventures or not.

You can try as much as you like (I definitely appreciate your efforts) but even the citizens of your city don't realize what they are doing to their tranquil and green city.

Good luck with your efforts.
Preventing More Lal Masjids
Posted by vanguard Jul 13, 2007 03:19 am
The teaser mentions hostages. I did not find any reference to hostages from neither ISPR or the press after the operation was over. And the foreign militants. Why could not they find those either. And what about that the masjid is lined with land mines and suicide bombers. No evidence of that either except for one burnt room which the army claims is an evidence of suicide bombing.

And the way the dead have been buried, nobody is asking why there is so much hurry of burying them anonymously.

Is it only me? To me it looks like an operation similar to the one Pakistan Army started in East Pakistan before the seperation. It seems that our Army is only good at attacking and killing its own citizens whether they are baluchis, molvis, bajauris, waziris, media men (so many have been abducted). Whenever it confronted the larger adversary, we have lost.
