Inzi Post-Bob: An Interview

NFP, I think you have lost it. After the earlier slightly ranting cum boring article, you came up with a cliched device of an interview to drive the same points that you so boringly raised in the earlier article.Though Mohammad Gill also possesses an article churning machinery but at least they are on a different topic each time.

Mohajirs had it coming. Being a mohajir myself, I remember the slogans MQM used to have spray painted all over Karachi ``Crush the corrupt Pakistan Army``. They were the warlords before the operation started.
With their slogan of SOS (security ourSelves) they have provided Klashinkovs to every kid. With their unit incharges, sector incharge they were involved in target killing. If Altaf Hussain comes back, he will be killed by a mohajir (most probably some father, mother, brother or sister of some MQM worker who was sacrificed by Altaf Hussain).
On being power hungry, nobody is more power hungry than Altaf Hussain. Of all the ethnic communities in Pakistan, only Altaf Hussain is capable of killing his own party men i.e., Azeem Ahmed Tariq or Khalid Bin Waleed. They were behind the murder of Hakeem Saeed and would have even killed Edhi to achieve some political mileage.

ahmedmadani, i hope what you written is tongue in cheek. Otherwise, I believe our so call intelligentsia needs to have a reality check.
I just don`t understand why does Musharraf wants to go through the sham of democracy. Just declare himself dictator (cause he surely acts like one) in supreme national interest. That way he can keep abducting people, privatize assets, sell and allot property in Gwadar, clamp down on freedom of press in supreme national interests and people like you and me can be assured that its all for the betterment of country.

I mean if you want to rant against something, why not do it against former chief justice. How could he ban Basant? Why didnot he find anything wrong in the second Hasba bill except for minor events.
How about that we want to establish the writ of government in baluchistan and waziristan but we cowed down to AK-47 weilding burqa clad girls in the heart of Pakistan i.e. Islamabad. Get a Life MAN
NFP! I think there is much more to the world than the cricket team. They are going down and might take religion with them too. What about hockey? Nobody is holding them back. Rather they wear the unislamic shorts. Why aren`t they performing well.
More than hamstrings and prayers, shoaib has to control his doping and drinking. Chill out man.

Zeemax I am grandson of the so called `mohajr` immigrants but I am a Pakistani first and last, consider myself nothing else and regard Pakistan as my homeland.
However, like the religious minorities who give Islam a bad name, there always will be a mohajir minority who will be the black sheep of the community. For some so-called Mohajirs its hard to settle in this country if you believe they use to chant `hamein manzil nahin rahnuma chahiyay`. May be they should do what their belover leader has done: MIGRATE to another country. `Rahnuma ko to manzil mil gaye`.
Surprisingly, that upholder of justice and rights of the minorities who is never short of giving philosophical telephonic and press speeches on every occassion from London is conspicuous by his silence today. Wonder what he is thinking?

Who is going to get rid of the corruption in Musharraf`s cabinet where we have the Prime Minister who made billions in stock market and was about to make a similar killing in the failed privatization bid, Wasi Zafar the law minister who and his son are known for slapping common citizens, Humayun Akhtar (minister of industries) who made millions through his sugar mills when the country was going through sugar crises, Ishratul Ibad (convicted Murderer) as governor of sind and the list goes on. Their crimes are much more than the alleged crimes of Chief justice who benefited himself only without hurting the common man.
He was about to decide on the issue of re-election of illegal president again from the same assembly. He was asking about the missing persons. He was taking the police to task.
Do you honestly believe that any judge will ever raise a voice against the government. If the fate of the case is as desired by Musharraf, then there will be no way to stop us reaching absolute corruption.
Musharraf expected him to resign but the CJ said that he can defend the allegations so he was forcefully made dysfunctional.
Indians too have corruption and lot of it.But I am sure they have a democratic way of sorting it out and not have some absolute monarch sitting to rid the country of corruption. Despite so many television channels, we are at lowest levels of freedom of press and highest level of corruption. I am sure you can find the reports easily by Googling.
And if you want to go back to India, be our guest. I am sure Indians will gladly take a dictator loving monarchy promoting person.

Why do proponents of Musharraf forget that he is a man after all and not some divine being. He has left all institutions in shambles. What happens when he leaves which he will sooner or later voluntarily or involuntarily with or without the Mango crates. It will be chaos and all that have been achieved (at the cost of increase indebtedness and inflation) will be washed way leaving the nation with indebtedness and high costs only. The biggest crime of Musharraf is that he has destroyed all institutions and finally pulled the crutches from under the judiciary.

Funny how the biggest proponent of checks and balances lets his ego and influence grow unchecked from being the chief parton of Cricket Board to being the judge and jury when a doctor was raped by an Army captain at Sui Gas to sacking of supreme court judge. This is a guy who said when Mukhtaran Mai applied for US Visa that women falsely claimed to be raped to get foreign nationality. Why do proponents of Musharraf forget that he is a man after all and not some divine being. Well MQM is on an extortion spree nowadays as all sector incharges are trying to outdo one another as the funds collected will be spent on celebrating birthday of children of their exiled leader pir altaf hussain bhai.

Karachi: The Descent Into Alienation
Because all these GEO, AAj TV, ARYs know that the day they criticize MQM that will be the last day for their broadcast in Karachi along with death threats to the news crew.
You can criticize the federal government, the opposition, the mullahs, the taliban but you can`t dare criticize MQM if you care for yourself and your family in Karachi.

Have you ever wondered that with so many channels offerring spoof talk shows parodying everyone from General Busharraf to Qazi Hussain Ahmed to Sheikh Rasheed to Benazir, why does not any body have guts to imitate Altaf Hussain or Amir Liaquat Hussain.Because all these GEO, AAj TV, ARYs know that the day they criticize MQM that will be the last day for their broadcast in Karachi along with death threats to the news crew.

Karachi: The Descent Into Alienation
The killing of Nishtar Park was less of a Wahabi and Barelvi and more of a MQM and Sunni Tehrik issue. If you read the news of those dates, you will see that a lot of MQM guys were clashing with Sunni Tehrik guys in Shah Faisal, Malir over Mosques whether it should be under tableeghi jamaat (MQM sympathizers) or Dawatul Islami (Sunni Tehrik).
Regarding expatriates visiting Karachi, there are two types. One who does not stand out from the rest of population upon arriving in Karachi and the one who flaunts by his speech, demeanour or lifestyle that he is an expatriate. Acquainted to both types, I have seen the former fitting in comfortably whereas latter always fearful.

One reason that middle class population is desensitized is they know that they will not be victims of bomb blasts. Its only going to be the religiously affilliated attend jalsaa or juloos or the ultra rich frequenting 5 star hotels. The killing of Nishtar Park was less of a Wahabi and Barelvi and more of a MQM and Sunni Tehrik issue. I should not be saying this but if this Muhajir is having difficulty fitting in, I think he should do what the leader of MQM did whose pictures have appeared naturally on betel leaves, tree trunks etc. As followers of MQM blindly chanted, `Hamein manzil nahin rahnuma chahiyay`; i think you should follow your leader because he surely has found his `manzil`.
In its heydey, Pir Altaf Bhai commanded blind following like Malcolm X. He could have asked the community to setup industries, universities, colleges etc and mohajirs including myself would have poured their hearts out. But what he did was destroy a generation, make themselves a terrorist organization and mercenaries, forced employers to hire incompetent employees who just went there to collect salaries, propounded the bhatta `extortion` culture etc.
It goes to credit of Mustafa `Kudaal` Kamal and his predecessor Naimatullah Khan that they started development projects in this ignored city of Karachi. If it was not for Naimatullah`s legacy and MQM`s fear of permanently losing Karachi to Jamatis, they would not have worked on development and would have done what they do best: thrive in lawlessness.

The YouTube Baby
This article is a rant. And like so many other blogs where this video has been discussed, it all boils down to that person raising the questions is a bearded student of some madrassah. If the same speech had been made by some girl (or guy) in jeans we would be applauding her and also using the opportunity to emphasise that our current education system is flawed as this student educated in some posh school is bold, confident and knows how to talk straight to a dictator.
Somebody has raised question about abductions. Just google about freedom of press in Pakistan. Pakistan ranks amongst the countries with lowest freedom of press. Having numerous channels ranting about with or without uniform does not constitute freedom of press. Where are the abducted persons? How many journalists have been abducted by government so far? whats really happening in Baluchistan/Waziristan? Nobody dares to discuss this on TV channels. Private channels are usually available in urban areas. If the government is so in favor of freedom of expression, why don`t have a few of these anti-government discussions on PTV?
