Wasim Akram: A Tribute
Posted by goonga Sep 7, 2003 10:09 am
I remember M.A.O College Ground in Chauburji Lahore, where Wazim was used to practicing in his early days with others guys, most prominent one was some ``Saud Khan`` looked like Imran Khan. Hitting the sixes to my roof which was straight to net. I was carried the balls from boundries most of the time I stay there and a noon-sports-newspaper. This was the only noon-newspaper at that time. Thank to my elder brother who also liked him and did not tell parents that I was spending most of my time there just watching them and sometimes even not going to school. It was terrible to miss the school and hiding in the same area near my house but what was a pleasure to watch him.
Wazim! ``I have enjoyed every bit of it, too.``
Wazim was very talkative, aggressive and dedicated at the net. I saw Imran there some times also so, may be it is Imran who would be his discoverer. Anyhow, Wasim can confirm this.
Our Inzee Bhai

Well! Inzi is no more goonga and anda....I think, he has shown selectors, skipper and others that they can`t just ignore senior players all at once and promote nepotism. I wish Waqar is called back as Rashid got banned and then on all should play for country not for captaincy. We need expereince!

#5 by meet_taimoor indeed,
I`d add: I find Ali difficult to conclude from this... it seems to be me nothing more than a news or ad, simply.

#6 by cmp99 I agree with you as I`m Atheist.

``Com`on people, only praying 5 times a day cant make you understand what this religion is saying. Read, know, see, observe... thats what Islam asks for.`` its true but It doesn`t mean that should not say prayer to understand it.
Anyway thanks Ali.

Meet Me at The Gym!

YES!! 100% correct about Macho Guy, when I was studying in lahore, I had seen a lot in 10 years. However they got more guts as well. Description about Perky Girl is more fanatic than Guy`s..you know what I mean ;-).
If any one is taking it as usual in all big cities, I`m sorry. Think about Gujranwala`s or Multan`s Pehalwaan Mohallas for example, and breed going to gym there. I`d love to read about if any one can write. You too will find it different. So are the lahories.
Thanks Sobia for such a nice and true writing.

Reconstruction or Destruction?
Posted by goonga Jun 5, 2003 03:07 am
Nadeem: I think these all men are responsible which is more important than demanded capabilities, however involving rest of senior players with same logic as Rashid is a VERY GOOD POINT. this body+seniors re-coonstructing with a mission with a dead-line is a prevainling thought at the moment.

Thanks Nadeem,

12th man.
Happy Birthday!

See poeple realising this and comming forward to help others....My uncle, the eldest in family, and offers oppertunities other families to sort out matrimonial problems. Is it necessary to bring every thing into business ? son paying his father for his understanding? Very little effort is required to help others in our society.
Spare Us The Smoke, Please!
Posted by goonga May 28, 2003 11:29 pm
``Pakka cig`` is the termed I heard 10 years ago, my 1st year at college with SpecialFilter. Althought it all starts with smoking but imagine the situation with 10 pakka`s daily for one. No one deserved that....all were top youth of Pak and the proved through years in all realms esp in Civil Services ...how could they?. The only I disliked were the persons like drivers, we all see university transport carrying our future (youth) twice a day...and Shah Jee (drivers) driving with 2 pakka`s....I cant believe this. Please for this I`m ready to anbuse even smoking...Please!

Honestly it was very difficult for me to read it in full after whats been going on with me in recent days but again “It is hard to endure mourning but we wouldn’t have it any other way” besides I like “All I thought about was what will happen to his bike”
Thanks Ali

Wondering if theres any difference between Mr. Hashmi and friend of Rozaiba, both sound similar... ‘Think of it as a late Eid present!’
