Loudspeaker Victory
Posted by bmk Apr 29, 2004 11:43 pm
Its just 11:40 AM on Friday April 30, 2004 and I can hear to this naat-khuwani by a young kid in loud speaker. A tamheed to the Friday`s sermon. :)

PS: naat-khuwani itself at its proper place and ocassion is okay and appreciable.
A Sign of Things To Come?

I accidently visited the common room while this program was being on-aired. pretty good one and appreciated alot by the the ppl, present there in the common room. Such programes should frequent the `family` channel.

re #1 (RAS)
August is okay too. Lets have some quality time till then even and take full advantage of their current majboori. Interact/communicate freely through all mediums. Visit and try to know each other better than relying on different channels.
Majority thinks that all this mess is due to the Politicians/Generals/Hukkams. Every problem has got a solution. This interaction till august is surely going to help later, no matter at how smaller scale....
pevasta reh shajar se ummeed-e-bahar rakh
Iqbal`s `shajar` might be meaning something else but here we need to concentrate on the later part, hope.

Train to Pakistan 2004: The Tribute

Now, this is a real time, pleasant surprise by VEERESH. I read about his being in ISLAMABAD on unplugged but was not exptecting a `traveloque` so soon. thought that since he is also from MITTAR`s land and will make us wait the same as mittar saab did. :)

now, its way to cool to hear from both. I am anxiously waiting for the next episodes.. make them real looooooooooooong ones.
Chai!
Posted by bmk Apr 6, 2004 11:47 am
I wuw the green tea, eshpeshally in AFGHANI style with their transparent cups with `sugar cubes`(?) I seldome miss the QISSA KHWANI bazar`s green tea whenever visit Peshawar.

wonder, why couldn`t I develope a taste for KASHMIRI chai. Had twice only in life.

oh let me tell that in lakshmi chowk lahore, ppl confuse the green tea with KASHMIRI chai. I once asked for green tea thinking that it wud be QAHWA but they presented the KASHMIRI chai. or perhaps I am confusing. :p

I say green or sabz chai to the green tea/QAHWA or SHEEN CHAI. and KASHMIRI chai use to be pinkish with pistas n other dry fruits in them.
Peaceful Strokes

I am okay with the loss. Congrats to the INDIAN side and better luck next time for PAKISTANIS. It was a wonderful cricket especially, by the batting side. It was one of the matches that couldn`t be predicted, till the last ball. and my body was introduced with adrenalin once again, after quite some time. :)

Moin missed the chance of becoming a real time HERO. wasn`t the last ball, a halwa? :)

Misfit

I also like the Lipton Girl. :)

Missfit would have also worked for the title, I guess.

And finally, glad to know that not only a poet lives inside you, SouLkeeper! enjoyed it.

thx~

``Filmgoers secretly want ‘one of us’ to be a superstar on the magic screen, not an unreal visage cosmeticized by dress designers, make-up artists, scriptwriters and film directors``
Validated

Nice article to change the taste ...
When I see you again

When I see you again,
Will it be a moment of silence?
Silence for fate’s ruthless course

most probably, this one, silence Or Its just, you only see what your eyes want to see?.
cool one.

and I enjoyed the original One more than the 33 words shorter but Nice effort. I really loved the one by T, wrote for FEROZ, someway back in his iLOG plus few more.

``She wanted to say something. So did I. But neither of us made an attempt. We had known this eventuality since the beginning. This was a battle we knew we would lose, but if you ask me, it was worth it. We were both trying to be strong for each other``

tujhay udaas bhi kerna tha, khud bhi rona tha
ye hadsa bhi meri jaan, kabhi tau hona tha

namuu ka ranj, na abr-e-gurez pa se mala`L!
keh mujh ko banjh zameenon mein beej bona tha

jo dastan ussay kehna thi phir na-gufta-be rahi
keh mein bhi thak sa gaya tha, ussay bhi sona tha

mein takht-e-abr pe soya tha, raat bhar MOHSIN~

``Changing from undeclared, unexpressed love to mere friendship and tonight was the changeover day``

aaahh~~

a wonderful piece, I must say.

of course, the poet is very much right to say

aey dill-e-nadan!
a`arzo kia hay?
justajju kia hay?
.
.
.
kitnay ghayal hain
kitnay bimil hain
ik too kia hay?
ik too kia hay?

RE: #1

and I have heard the same about LATA MANGESHKAR.

`Dil dharkay, mein tum say ye kaisay kahun kehti hai meri nazar shukriya, tum meri umango ki shab kay liye Aaye ho bun kay sahar shukriya` (The film `Anjuman`)

One of my all time favorites. Really melodious one.

The Voice-over-IP dilemma
Posted by bmk Oct 18, 2003 10:37 pm
attended a seminar on the same subject, last year where they said that LOCAL calls from ISP may become FREE after deregulation of PTCL, similar to that of AUSTRALIA and few more countries, they mentioned as an example. There won`t be any prob to dial a local number from the ISP, something like that ...

By the way, I don`t think, net-to-phone or Voice chat is a good idea, other than for fun-sake unless we compromise with the `TIME-DELAY` in data transfering, which is really unwise in Voice communications. !?!
