The Ground Beneath Pakistan’s Feet
Posted by dharma Oct 24, 2005 08:53 pm
more puzzling questions:

why is tibetan or taiwanese not allowed self determination? what is so speacial about kashmiris? romair keeps harping on this.

Why no paki ever talks about the part of kashmir gifted to china?

If dawood ibrahim does not live in pakistan, how did his daughter marry miandad`s son?

why do pakis keep harping on right to self determination when they dont have a right to vote in their own country?

How do pakis keep their sanity in their make believe world? That might be their biggest contribution yet to mankind.
The Ground Beneath Pakistan’s Feet

puzzling questions:

why is that all pakistanis push for soft LOC? Is it because they can push more Jehadis with less expense? romair always talks about this.
Why is pakistan suspicious of Indian helicopters when there is no history of india every starting a war against pakistan?
Why does India allow pakistanis helicopters into its airspace when Pakistan started 4 wars with india in 50 some years?
Why is romair a kashmiri when he does not even speak kashmiri?
When India claims all of kashmir, isnt it its duty to help its citizens on the other side of LOC no mattrer what?
Indian side is jehadi infested, and yet why do pakis expect ordinary citizens who never saw violence in their lives rush to Kashmir and get killed by a sucide bombers?
Pakistan solved the kashmir problem on its side by settling punjabis there. Why cant india give refuge to Srilankan Tamils and settle them there? Is it becuase of leftist parties?

ranit #235
I always wondered about that. Is it that we are not taught about resistance in pakistan area to external invaders and british or they are just too meek? Even the chowkies never mentioned about any freedom fighters or of any people who fought the muslim invaders.
I think they are just very meeek people. The meekness shows in their acceptance of any tom, dick and harry general that wants to rule pakistan. It also shows in how they give up their freedom to any mullah who wants to throw the book at them. Try doing that to indians, throwing gita or ramayan at them. They had thrown the sankaracharya in jail without bail recently.

indikad75,
Sanskrit is not a dead language. It is second langauge for lot of indian students and I am sure they all know the sanskrit grammarian panini. All indian languages are either based on sanskrit or influenced by sanskrit to a great deal. For example even a guy in kerala
can understand if you say yaatrik instead of musaafir. It is ironic that the languages that are closest to sanskrit in north are preferring alien words to sansrit words. That will only distance people from their own civilization. Sanskrit is the cornerstone of our long running indic civilization.

Read this well written article on ``Why India is a Nation?`` by Sankrant Sanu, whose earlier article criticising Microsoft encarta`s entry on Hindusim made them change it. He is one of the most logical writers I ever read.

it is sad that most pakistanis dont even know panini, the greatest grammarian the world ever produced who lived 2500 years back in what is now modern day pakistan.

from wikipedia:
Pâṇini`s grammar of Sanskrit is highly systematised and technical. Inherent in its analytic approach are the concepts of the phoneme, the morpheme and the root, only recognized by Western linguists some two millennia later. His rules have a reputation of perfection — that is, they perfectly describe the Sanskrit morphology, and regarded as so clear that computer scientists have made use of them to teach computers to parse Sanskrit. He uses metarules, transformations, and recursion. In this sense he may be considered the father of computing machines. The Backus-Naur Form or BNF grammars used to describe modern programming languages have significant similarities to Pâṇini`s grammar rules.

If he were an arabic scholor, pakis would be singing paeans to him. It is sad that while knowledge by itself is worshipped by hindus as god, muslims seem to have halal and haram filters applied to it. If the knowledge is from non arabic source it is not halal.

thanks for you courteous reply. i agree that there are lot of voices. but ranjit`s is also a valid voice which should not be supressed by calling him keera or whatever. Infact his voice is the voice of a nationalist because he puts nation over humanity. a nation needs nationalists to be strong. if you want to earn his love instead of hatred love his nation and his people instead of hurting them. it is as simple as that. I am not saying being a nationalist is better than being a humanist. but things as they are, nations can not function without nationalists. maybe a day will come when the borders disappear in not too distant future. but until them we need them to keep the borders.

Why is ranjit a keera for merely wishing bad things to happen to an enemy country which went to war without provocation 4 times in 50 years? Maybe indians are brainwashed into thinking that pakistan started the wars. Maybe it is time to correct that? Maybe indians are brainwashed into thinking that jihadis are allowed to cross into India by pakistan army so that they can come in and kill innocent civilians along with the army men. It is time to correct that misconception. You can not slap a person and except him to have good feelings for you. Then everyone would be a mahatma. If you are as vocal in criticising your government for hurting india, then maybe indians would think that pakistani civilians are innocent bystanders. But none of the pakistanis wanted to even consider that it was regular army that was fighting kargil war when kargil was going on and even after it was over there was no overwhelming criticism of that dastardly act. Noone criticises loudly enough when Dukhtaran-e-Millat activists throw acids at young girls for not covering or when they burn shops for selling alcohol. For you all Ranjit is evil incarnate for not thinking well of pakistanis who maybe killing an indian everyday somewhere or other in the country. If it is not true it is time to prove that pakistan is not that kind of country and get rid of this misconception in peoples minds. You can not, not protest when Indians are hurt by pakistani actions and still want indian good will towards you. You can not have the cake and eat it too. Decide which one you want. And Ranjit did not do anything illegal or immoral. Just like west wants to see moderate muslims to be vocal , we want ordinary pakistanis to be vocal about anti india policies of the govt. If you cant do that learn to live with some ill will. It is not that big deal compared to the ill actions that are killing people.
Sex and Pakistan vs. Rape and The World Media

why is everybody afterm salim chauhan? I dont read what goes on unplugged,
but on chowk i always found his interacts are fair, intelligent and a pleasure
to read. Before you brand me a male chauvinist, i am all for equal rights for
females - you can check my histroy of postings. I find that he is not given
credit for his excellent posts by the chowk management and other interactors
with hidden agendas. This kind of behavior and discriminatory censorship is
a sure way to destroy the creidbility built here and a time maybe coming to build
a new chowk.
Chasing bloodhounds ... Lest we Forget

I agree that there is nothing wrong in expressing sadness and disgust at such ghastly
happenings as gujarat and there is no justification for the perpetrators. But gujarat
has become a stick to beat india with for outsiders and giving lot of political mileage
for the leftist parties inside the country. And plight of hundreds of thousands of kashmiri pandits who were driven from their homes gets no attention because there is no
political advantage to be obtained from their plight. When we equate things randomly
because both are bad we lose perspective. Thats why i suggest the word riot for gujart.
It is a momentary madness of the mob not a persistent ill will towards a community
over decades like in kashmir.

Re: # 52
chauhan saaheb, usually i find your positions logical. But calling gujarat
a genocide is disrespectful to the real genocides that are happening in darfur, kashmir etc.
The following information given by secular congress party which has stake in
defaming modi`s govt may help you:

The government told parliament that 790 Muslims and 254 Hindus were killed
in gujarat riots.

Rape and Exploitation - Pakistan’s Dilemma
Posted by dharma Sep 21, 2005 02:00 pm
Looking from a different viewpoint, pakistan does give more freedom to its real constituency
(sunni male) than any other nation does to its citizens. One of which is freedom to rape. You can do it with impunity as long as you follow some simple rules like not doing it in places like mosques where more than 4 pious muslims may gather. You can drag them to
any other place or even rape them in their own homes or do it in different place
each time. Dont even think about it if you are not sunni muslim, you will be lynched by
a mob before a rape is even reported. So the problems we see if pakistan are only
problems if you see through the prism of eqaul rights for all humans. If you consider
for a moment women are not eqaul to men and non muslim are not equal to muslims,
it is a perfect country, giving all rights it can, to its main constituency.

Why is it that every indian on chowk is ready to give away POK as if it is their personal
property? As per the constitution of India and the instrument of accession signed by the maharaja it is integral part of india. When we get a govt that actually has balls to stand up to pakistan we will get it back. Until that time please dont give it away even on
cyberspace. We have the burden of Billion+ people with very little land.
China has lot more land and is still trying to expand into northeast india, nepal,
kashmir etc. There is a lot to learn from them. There is no use talking to pakis.
They are just whiners. When the stick is strong enough they shutup and put out.
What is the point of arguing with them when they are only used to listening to stick?

is it just me or everyone notices that when the tough questions are asked
tahmed calls them stupid and runs away? tahmed is only comfortable
when you ask him questions like
1) what is the real meaning behind quran?
2) How liberal is the land of milk and honey aka USA?
3) Why Indians and Pakistanis are primitive?
etc.
